First game basically created a new genre of Tower Defense games, it was well beloved, EA got a hold of it, made a bunch of mobile games, vaguely capitalizing on that gameplay (many of them were exclusive to China), made a bunch of third person shooters that had no right being as good as they were, and are still truckin' and still is a beloved series that is simultaneously more and less obscure than you think.
