Normally I really don’t like the differences between PAL video game boxes but the SNES is an exception. The cover templates looks way better in PAL regions.

Hot take: to be considered a “cinematic universe” something has to be comprised of multiple franchises/brands otherwise it’s just a film series, and there’s no need to call it a cinematic universe. The MCU and Monsterverse are true cinematic universes. Sonic and Fast & the Furious are not cinematic universes.
The backlash against pokemon when it first came to america makes a lot more sense when you realize most parents were learning about it by people going “hey you know that Japanese show that gave seizures a year ago? that’s coming here now”
I used to be more strict with what defines an indie game but I think I’ve loosened up on it when I realized it just has to be a game independent of a major publisher. If Nintendo EPD developed a game and published it specifically themselves without the involvement of publisher Nintendo (for whatever reason) that would technically be an indie game.

Hollow knight has a message that says “press any button to continue” at the end but it’s literally just the four face buttons that work. Not the d-pad, not the triggers, not even the plus button. What’s even the point, they lied to me. Awful game.

On the subject of Sonic Underground not that long ago I was at an anime convention and went to a panel about autism in the anime community. One of the people there said they got into anime through sonic since it’s also from Japan and the person running the panel mentioned there’s a Sonic anime called Sonic Underground.
im assuming he meant sonic x but I can’t believe I out-sonic autism’d the guy specifically giving a panel on it
I had a dream there was a Sanrio character thats an evil bear named Badamonz. And there was a huge meme in China where people would treat him as Mario’s main rival instead of Wario to the point there was official merchandise of them crossing over together.

This is almost certainly just anecdotal but I feel like sonic underground got a weird resurgence with my generation since it was on Netflix. When I was in like 2nd and 3rd grade everyone knew Sonia and Manic as part of the Sonic Mythos, and plenty of people around my age seem to be getting nostalgic for the opening theme.
sonic underground and the wii virtual console version of the original gamewere also how I was introduced to sonic as a kid. Plus Brawl I guess.

Say what you will about FF16 Clive as a tekken guest character, it is kinda cool how he looks almost identical to his final fantasy 16 look in tekken
