PSASBR Nathan Drake is so funny because like, if you have no context of Uncharted (like I did as a kid) it just likes a normal run-of-the-mill guy is throwing hands with Kratos and PaRappa - like, if they added the Sims (AKA actual run of the mill average joes) to Smash or PSASBR they'd at least have fun outfits and a slight stylisation

Nothing against Drake though, I'm sure he and his source material are great in their own right, I just think his design is humourously uninteresting outside of his intended context

I had this game as a kid called "The Dog Island", based on those old fisheye lens dog toys, apparently it has some dark themes but I don't think I ever got far enough to see them (between this, Drawn to Life, and Dog's Life, a recurring theme with my childhood games lmao), either way when I first saw the intro as a kid I thought they were singing "I always think of you and all stripey fancy and bright noses" (it actually said "and I'll try to cross the endless ocean") and was so confused when I couldn't customise my dog's nose when selecting a breed.

If a Guilty Gear character had an airdash as a "gimmick" in Smash, that'd honestly be a way bigger insult than not having airdashing at all. At that point you may as well release Luigi DLC for Mario Odyssey and advertise "he can do the spin move without motion controls" as a selling point.

It's kinda weird to me how the people who were up in arms about Kamp Koral "disrespecting Stephen Hillenburg" are also celebrating Pibby for turning a bunch of characters made by dead guys into zombies. I'm not saying Pibby is disrespectful mind you, but rather that if Kamp Koral is, Pibby is too.

I have not played Crazy Frog Racer 2 in decades - I can't really say whether it actually holds up, I'd assume it doesn't but there are some absurdly good licensed games based on just absurd IPs out there - however I will at least say the idea of a game that combines Mario Kart-style items and characters with Wipeout-style track design and speed is pretty clever.

I feel RNG in platform fighters, or even an RNG centric character, could be done really well, but Smash is absolutely terrible with designing RNG. IMO the ideal platfighter RNG use is to force both the player and their opponent to change up their strategy with a move that is assigned as an RNG move (preferably a stat boost or item summon instead of an attack), not to just hand a KO on a golden platter for no reason cough*misfire*cough

Peach's vegetables are probably the peak of Smash RNG design, but that isn't saying much.

I'm still baffled that people saw "no super moves" as a dealbreaker in NASB. That's equivalent to saying Smash Ultimate is unplayable because it doesn't have the fan item.

I know 1 billion lions vs. Pokémon is a dead debate with a generally accepted conclusion, but listen out to me on this:
Pokémon are canonically sapient and tend to have a moral code of their own, lions are mindless predators. The Pokémon would just try to figure out what the hell a lion is and strategize - if a majority of them are even OK with killing these weird dull-eyed one-coloured Pyroars, while the lions would just rush in for the kill.

It's kinda sad how CN was created as a "safe haven" for legacy cartoons, and now have one of the worst track records for making shows inaccesible of any TV channel - children's or otherwise. This isn't even a new thing with the HBO Max cuts, CN have failed to preserve their content as long as they've been making original content. Tons of missing specials (Ego Trip, Big Picture Show, e.t.c.), entire shows you can only get as 6-episodes-on-one-disc at best (Sheep, Robot Jones), universally revered classics only avaliable in full digitally (Chowder, Billy & Mandy), tax write offs, so on.

It's a case of "pick your poison" I guess - CN champions new ideas but always throws everything old out for a blank slate, while Nickelodeon fails to understand originality but can be pretty damn good at respecting and preserving their legacy. Disney TVA is probably the closest to a happy medium between originality and nostalgia in the industry, but even they tend to prioritise merchandising the Afternoon era stuff.

A small part of me would prefer a devoted Shrek fighter over a Dreamworks crossover. Two reasons: 1. I think we need more non-crossover non-original fighters (especially of the platform variety), and 2. you could easily make up new characters based on folklore as well as the standard Shrek cast.

I think Nintendo's moral flaws as a business are super bad, and there are some areas where they're worse than the typical Acti/EA/Ubi rogues gallery (especially in regards to preservation and pricing, as well as the marketing of Smash specifically) but I also think that most of their flaws under Bowser - while not exactly overblown by any means - wouldn't have had the general public backlash they had if either Iwata and Reggie weren't so good at PR prior, or Bowser was as good as Iwata and Reggie at PR.

Yoshi's Story becoming Monsters Inc. themed, for the "Randall" joke obviously
Food items including Silica Gel, the Annoying Orange, poop and the Jagged Metal Krusty-O
Changing the coins in coin mode to Chuck E. Cheese tokens and the Wallace & Gromit commemorative coin that released at the time

I'm sure I changed Ness and one of these characters' alts too, but I can't remember who to for the life of me. One idea I had but never tried to make was a Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon reskin for Pokémon Stadium where all the forms represented specific shows - but I don't think I decided what network or shows before losing interest and the data.
