I think a retro throwback that did it right was Crash 4 - instead of making a more modern Crash, they made a less modern Crash and cut out a lot of the tacked-on collectathon elements and extra gamemodes/controls of 2 and 3.

Pretty much everything I like about Shovel Knight is something lifted from 80s and 90s games, and everything I dislike is a "modern touch up". (the asinine checkpoint system; permanent upgrades and weapon aquirement; e.t.c.)
If an Angry Birds character gets in Smash Infinite, I'd want their trailer to have Crash and Minecraft, and highlight how similar the TNT in those games are.

I don't think the NASB music leak is real, but if it is I think it's gonna be an extra rep for a series already in base (like Squidward or Zuko) with a Blue's Clues stage like how Shredder came with a Double Dare stage. I would love playable Blue, but she'd probably not be a smart way to start the DLC even if Nick corporate are OK with her fighting in the first place.

I love making platform fighter stage layouts, and I was thinking of doing some kind of big layout related project - possibly to do with the top 30 or so (non-TF2) characters from Global Smash Roster. I could reuse my Twilight Town sub from SMSB for Paper Mario at least.
The Ghost Zone stage in NASB is really fun... until you learn how to tech, then it just becomes tedious to play on. Really hope we can get a hazards switch at some point.

I was kinda surprised when the NASB items leaked and there wasn't a slime item. I guess it's because they sell slime as a toy and either don't want to encourage kids to fight with it? or maybe they don't want to turn the game into a blatant toy ad?
While I generally don't like character revamps, I think it'd be super cool if a NASB update made Cat and Dog's stats and/or some attack animations a little different.
I kinda like the idea of doing a kart racer roster and platform fighter roster for the same IP, as to kinda highlight my different philisophies in those realms. Maybe I'll do a Disney Kart roster to complement my Disney fighter roster?

The "all our food keeps blowing up" meme is a great testament to how important good timing is for comedy - the full 30 second ad is just too slow to be funny, to the point where you'd likely forget the setup by the time you get to the punchline, but the meme edit is comedy gold.
That "Cursed to Golf" game looks super cool - reminds me a lot of Itchy & Scratchy: Miniature-Golf Madness on the Game Boy.

I feel that whenever a piece of media doesn't bring back a potentially questionable element from earlier instalments, or doesn't put in an element from its source material(s) that could be considered uncomfortable in its new context ahem, people blame "the mainstream media" or "corporate censors", when it could just well be the artists themselves having concerns, or even non-morally-based reasons to exclude it.
I would be so upset if Bubsy's stage in Smash was Cheese Wheels of Doom or (to a lesser extent) Farewell to Woolies instead of Fair Conditioning or a Bubsy 3D stage
I believe SMSB has now crossed the minimum stages needed to exceed SSBU's stage count by the end of base game, so I'm gonna slow down on multi-stage jobs now - I have the next 3 stage jobs planned out (but not the order) and all of them will most likely only add 1

I think it'd be really cool if Smash had a retro directly-ripped-graphics stage based on a SNES; MD or 2D N64/PS1 game with pre-rendered graphics, complete with BMP compression and everything being a flat image instead of a model
A lot of the submission rounds for SMSB are concieved by me coming up the entry first and then creating a job to support it - I've gotten some really good submissions out of this (the reskin job intended for me to submit Mario Paint on, which we got
Janx_uwu
's amazing Skies of Sarasaland from for example), and I try hard to make sure they're not too specific.

If a Disney platform fighter was to only have TVA characters, which - mind you - would be the worst possible outcome, it shouldn't have Disney anywhere in the title. Maybe call it "XD Battle Royale" or something like that. I'd feel pretty ripped off if I bought a game called "Disney All-Star Brawl" and got Owl House and Amphibia characters instead of Lion King and Toy Story.

I'm not sure which idea I like less: a non-Sonic character as Sega's fourth rep, or a second Rare character as Microsoft's third rep. Both would feel like colossal wastes.
I don't know why people think bad games appeared right as the Nintendo seal of quality was phased out - if anything, the amount of bad games has significantly lowered since then thanks to a better, widespread understanding of game design (and I say this as a huge 90s fanboy!)
