Found that weird as hell advert I was talking about - turns out it makes more sense in context, YouTube version was cut way too much.
I can't believe the Infinite thread let me submit this - I even publically announced on the thread that I submitted it (I do that every time I replace a song I've previously added)
Honestly, this whole situation with Nintendo and Smash fans is kind of a capitalist wet dream.
Nintendo have a lucritive IP they use to advertise new games while creating very few new characters or locations - but treat its fans with little respect, specifically a sizable subgroup that's more than willing to try something new under the promise of being, and would make them a lot of money if, treated well, and at that a subgroup that's kinda required to buy all the DLC on basis of the way they play.
Unless you've got a Disney-esque brand image, there is no way any media conglomerate would pass on this.

I know this is just a clickbait channel trying to get views, but these video titles are depressingly positive.
This game's humour does not get better with age - however, some of the music choices are really based.
It's kinda surprising you don't see Diddy Kong Racing mentioned in the context of Smash as often as SMRPG. It's got a very similar situation and an equally as devoted fanbase. I guess a "kart driving fighter" is just hard for a lot of people to imagine - though I argue it could be done.

The fact that Nick's netcode is supposedly really bad compared to other fighting games makes SSBU's netcode even more pathetic.
The potential newcomers I feel the most confident in for a future Smash are Waluigi, one of the Splatoon idol groups, a 3rd Animal Crossing rep, and a gritty/realistic Western 3rd party.
Honestly, I feel a lot of regret for basically spending my entire teen years playing Smash. Wish I had branched out to other games and didn't get so caught up in the hype culture.
Saying Nick Brawl has too much 90s content is like saying a Sega crossover has too much 90s content or a Dreamworks crossover has too much 2000s content. The 90s were Nick's peak in terms of cultural influence, especially when it comes to cartoons given their high expectations and quick cancellations post-Spob. I'd frankly be more surprised if 90s stuff didn't take up a majority of the roster.

If there was to be a reremake of Mario 64 DS, I think Donkey Kong would make more sense as an extra character overall, to make a "Mario Avengers" sort of game; but I'd probably go with Waluigi to fulfil that rumour.
Dire Dire Docks is the only song in Mario 64 I feel sounds like it could've been part of a game released today. Probably because it doesn't use the pan flute. -
