I think it's really cool that Daisy's tan seems to be a permanent redesign. It's nice to give her a few more distinguishing traits from Peach and Rosa, and it's a small but rewarding callback for hardcore fans who know of Daisy being a desert land's princess and her earlier 3D designs. I don't really get the ethnic diversity chatter in this context (are tanned white women an oppresed minority?) but it's a fun piece of aesthetic diversity either way, and quite important for a character with a(n undeserved) bad reputation as a "lazy recolour".

If the NSO N64 controller was a Joy-Con instead of a pro-controller there would be at least one person who removes the handles, records themselves taking it off the Switch, and posts it to Twitter under the name "Neutering the Switch."

It is a horrible time to be a fan of both, Nintendo and graphic design.

PaRappa the Rapper in Smash isn't necessary nor likely. It'd be a celebration of a Sony character - no matter how Nintendo-like his art style is or how much fandom overlap there is, he's a PlayStation character and his games are PlayStation games by proxy. That's not to say he can't or shouldn't get in, but rather that he won't have any more priority than other Sony characters and rhythm game reps just because modern day Nintendo fans can easily and cheaply obtain a PS1 or 2 - if not less due to it being a way for Sony to entice Smash players over to PlayStation All-Stars.

I have seen way too many characters directly linked to suicide unironically requested for Smash (that being just two: Masked Man/Claus and Monika, but one would be way too much as is.)

This video is actually really interesting and informative, but god that thumbnail is funny.

As much as I love Crash's time travel and multiverse shenanigans, I do kinda wish the next Crash game would stay confined to the N. Sanity Islands.

Sun and Moon was peak Pokémon human design.

Dr. Mario 64 is a game I never expected to see acknowledged again (outside of its music), let alone rereleased.

I love how the roster of that game is just a bunch of Wario Land 3 enemies - no Luigi, no Peach, no Yoshi, just enemies from Wario Land 3. It is the antithesis of the Mario Mandate.

I do wonder why they made Sonic Origins a compilation instead of just Sonic 3K alone with a ton of optional tweaks. Sonic 1 and 2 are really easy to get ahold of, and CD at the very least has a mobile port.

There's a character emblem for Foreman Spike now.

I wonder if there's terabytes of Mario character emblem .TIFFs in the Nintendo vault in case Nintendo ever want to use any character again. Where is that Three Little Pigheads emblem not yet ready for public consumption?

I'm not saying the SSBU reveal timing was an intentional sabotage of Nick Brawl, far from it, but I am saying that I wouldn't put it past Nintendo to sabotage the first true rival to Smash with both an equally as recognisable roster and well thought out gameplay.
