  • I've been picking up PC gaming lately, and honestly the whole "PC Master Race" thing makes me utterly ashamed to be a PC gamer.

I don't understand the mentality, since it essentially deprives you of like 3/4s of games out there.

Many people are tribalistic self serving beings that are willing to put others down for their own good feeling. However it's also important to distinguish aspects of PC gaming culture that try to lift all gamers up. PC has emulators, easy modding, options, mouse aiming, usually better graphics and FPS, free online functions and probably some other things. A good chunk of PC players will encourage others to try PC out so they too can experience those boons. It's also good to understand that the PC-console rivalry has many sides that antagonise each other and create a big messy cycle of hate.
So I guess TL;DR people are complicated and each platform has it's upsides and you should try or use whichever you feel like regardless of stigma because frick what dummies think.

KirbyWorshipper2465 KirbyWorshipper2465 Almost all games are being released or ported to PC nowadays and it's become harder to justify buying consoles if you're a PC gamer, so there's plenty of room to be elitist about things. It's more that the term was originally coined by Yahtzee to poke fun at that mentality, so all these elitists unironically using this term as an elitist badge is really something else. It used to be a term PC gamers used to poke fun at themselves but some people (usually console refugees) didn't get the memo and started using it to denigrate console gamers.

I'm not personally invested in the console wars and just laugh at the memes.
A lot of die-hard anime fans say western cartoons are bad because they're "ugly", but honestly that's the whole reason I love western animation. Cutesy anime characters look almost robotic to me, like they were built in a factory, not born in a womb - while ugly cartoon characters seem more real to me, I emphasise more with a genetic disaster like Rango than a cutesy magical girl with big sparkly eyes and a skull physically unable to frown - but that's just me.

Not exactly a fair comparison either, since it's an atypical modern West movie production vs. typical modern Japanese productions, let alone movies (keeping in mind that they're becoming more comfortable with 3D films nowadays).

Although older fans of both of those sides of the industry aren't generally fond of their respective modern TV animations' aesthetical choices for the most part (aside from the more stylistic stuff), that much is certain.

Yeah, I get what you're saying - I just brought up Rango more as an example of ugly cartoon characters from a character design standpoint as opposed to thematically. I'm trying to make a response to a meme/Tweet about anime and cartoons' art styles really, with the original meme specifically bringing up Big Mouth

I personally prefer animation in general. There’s more room for creativity, heart, and expression in characters
The Chuck E. Cheese controversy confuses me - have you seriously never had a pizza that's been put on the plate slice-by-slice before?
I've only just now realised how disturbing that whole saga between Leafy and Misha was. "Cyberbully Channels are Cancer" is certainly cringeworthy, but not in the way we saw it at the time.
Voodoo Vince is seriously underrated. I don't think I've ever laughed more during a single player game than I have with the hour I've spent so far playing Vince - and to top it off, the gameplay is really good!
I've been Googling "video game with" followed by every letter of the alphabet (individually) to see what autofill fills it with, and it seems that nobody at all can remember what Naughty Bear is called.
the next SpongeBob movie will have Hans Zimmer doing the score, which is fine, but I'd rather they just use all that stock music to give it an authentic SpongeBob feel.
Not trying to support cringe culture or anything among those lines, but I really dislike that genre of fan art that's a character beating up their "flanderized" counterpart. If anything, turning the humble and funny SpongeBob from the earlier seasons into a guy who would straight up murder the timider, more emotional version of himself from the later seasons with a giant hammer is extreme flanderization.
I think the reason why pretty much nobody was mad or upset about K. Rool is because he's this perfect balance almost of many fan requests, he's goofy but also a threat, he's a proportionately lesser known character but an important part of an iconic series, e.t.c.

Ridley was a decisive choice, which is probably why people don't talk about him as much as they do K. Rool - Ridley had tons of detractors, and some of them had pretty valid arguments, even if they were all proven wrong by Sakurai himself, while K. Rool had some but most of them were just GameFAQs users looking for someone to hate on - another factor that might play into Ridley being forgotten is mods: prior to Ultimate, there were no decent K. Rool mods for PM and no major fangames featuring him in a playable role - but if you wanted a Smash Ridley, there were tons of options out there. I feel like the Ridley support was more just a really, REALLY vocal (and coding-skilled) minority in hindsight.

I do personally prefer Ridley's trailer. It was so dark for Nintendo's standards.

And I think a lot of people consider Ridley’s moveset to be average and he gets pretty low on tier lists
I couldn't care less if a female character gets in Ultimate as DLC, but if they do I want them to be a child, animal or conventionally unattractive character (like Gruntilda for example)
Not the biggest fan of modern Simpsons, but I loved The Longest Daycare, so I'm optimistic for the short before Onward.
I got Miner Ultra Adventures on Steam, it's only like, 79 cents (I live in the UK but use dollars on Steam since I used a fake address) so I just went "why not? it'll be fun for the memes."

Oh god, it's not even good for the memes. it's a travesty.
I can't be the only person who likes 30FPS better than 60, right?

Depends on what games I'm playing. Shooters and Fighters are great on 60fps. Some other games I'd much prefer 30fps.

It's all a matter of context and mood, really. 30 FPS usually fits more for stylistic games.
The way KFC treats Colonel Sanders these days is horrible. They completely disregard him as an actual person with a legacy and turn him into a fictional jokester - I'm guessing because he openly spoke out against the company he started. They're no better than PETA vandalising his grave (yes, they did that once.)
What the hell happened to SMG4? Last time I saw it it was just reused audio clips with Gmod models being thrown around rooms, but now it has characters and story arcs? WHAT TIMELINE IS THIS?
How long do Steam refunds usually take? I've got the email confirming the refund, but haven't got back the money yet. (it still says the money is "pending")
There's something hilarious to me about how people who joke about minorities "being easily offended" will get SUPER offended over trivial things - like, they'll say the wage gap, for example, is a "trivial issue" and that women should "get over it"/"deal with it" then get angry because a grown man dresses up as a baby in his own time. Where's the logic in that?
I don't think I've watched anything even remotely related to Duckman in the past 4 years, yet YouTube seems to think I want to watch Duckman clips for hours on end.
Giga Wrecker Alt was the most disappointing game I've ever played in my life, albeit not by fault of the game - I didn't realise it was a Metroidvania when I brought it and just sorta defaulted to "Game Freak + female character + destroying things = Drill Dozer"
the 80s had "bodacious", the 90s had "rad", the 00s had "sexy" and the 10s had "epic" - what will the 20s bring?

No idea, but I do know that the 10s' trends will still linger for the first few years, including hoverboards, gender reveals, dabbing, the Floss, and whatever the heck a Bucket List is.

Hoverboards died out within the first year of two of their introduction, mainly due to their safety concerns. However, dabbing and flossing are two trends that need to die ASAP. And this is coming from someone who still plays and enjoys Fortnite.

I prefer the "muscleman pose" that involves pointing your arms diagonally upwards, which is what the dab is a slight corruption of. You don't see where your arms are going in the dab.
I remember I used to have a friend who I had a lot in common with, but he was very impressionable, probably had some sort of medium-functioning autism, and he LOVED edgy-but-shallow humour like Dorkly Bits and Caillou Gets Grounded and would constantly repeat all the quotes - one "Could this be it, the pervert family pet?" (I have no clue where that quote came from) too many and I ended that friendship.
