  • Yeaahh, I can't get him to move forward straight out of hitstun. Using Disallow Vertical Movement I can stop Brawl from translating the horizontal movement into vertical, but that's about it.
Ahh, I gotcha. I know exactly the behavior you're talking about. I _think_ you may be able to eliminate it if before the Character Momentum command, you use this:

    Disallow Vertical Movement
0E020100 0-1: Turns Gravity off AND sets momentum to zero.

    Or maybe this:

0E030100 with a value of 1 cancels all vertical momentum and forces it to restart from 0, prolly useful for DJC. It also does the same for horizontal.

That's just a suspicion though -- I really haven't explored these events very thoroughly. I think I might give it a try on Zero's Side+B just to see if I can make it work.
Hmmm... unfortunately, I haven't ever tried to modify momentum during hitstun. I'm betting there's something like a constant "Set Momentum" going on during the Action or just as a natural part of hitstun. Personally, first I'd try looking at the Actions involved -- but I bet you already did that. From there I'd check and see if I could get any results using events the Disallow/Allow events like "Disallow Vertical Momentum" and such.

Wish I could be of more help -- let me know if you figure it out.
I had to leave to go to my sisters' graduation so I didn't get to figure out how to download it. Next time you hop on the IRC, tell me.
I don't have a lot of Melee experience sadly. I'd play it, but the only thing that really hinders me in the game is no buffering, which is why I'm really looking forward to P:M. I can still record though. I have a great recording set-up and I love watching Melee/P:M.

I'd certainly be willing to help with anything you need.
Is there a way to have a code that disables grabs/airdodges (so that Frame Advance works) on the Z button? Dantarion said you could do it via fighter.pac injection...
Ok, so I got the alpha build from yeroc the other day. I've been playing a lot. Anything you need help testing or any feedback you want?
I'll look into that. I'll have to see if I can use my friend's wii/sd card first. @__@
I reformatted my computer and now I can find a DL link for OSA2... Halp?

Also, if you have time tomorrow could you take a stab at making Snake's C4 not transfer between people nor randomly (?) fall off? Thanks.
Hey, when I'm doing frame data testing in frame by frame, I know that since the way button mapping works, I'll spontaneously grab. I really hate this happening. Do you think you can use the button mapping code to unmap the z button, or at least have one of your WBR friends do it?
Yo Shanus. I was wondering if you could give namq (hes a coder) the chance to try project M. Nobody here in Puerto Rico is able to play it. And there are a lot of ppl hyped for the game. ^^
Actually, me and ST figured that out by checking what SFX D9 was (considering putting it on G&W's jab :V). But thanks anyways. :) Now, to figure out the injection.

Also, to port fighter.pac injections, it's pretty much just changing the offsets to what they should be for the PAL one, right?
The idea: make powershielding anything have instant IASA (or if this doesn't work for super-fast repeated powershielding, just have it change to idle). Me and ST are gonna fiddle around with it, see if we can get it working effectively. Thanks. :)
Sup Shanus just came by to say looks like Project M is gonna be a big hit and can't wait till it comes out.
I'll start chipping away at physics of Top and High characters first. I think I have a pretty decent method for estimating how exactly the lack of landing detection code (any word on this btw?) will affect the SH/FH duration and can start polishing them up regardless.

Sheik's super wonky so I'll work on her and Falco first, then maybe move on to C. Falcon and Marth.
I got to play P:M when JC and the gang brought it to my tourney a couple days ago. I was wondering if I could get a copy of the beta to try out and learn more about. I couldn't get much time with it while there (only like 5 or so matches) and wanted to learn more about it.
Didn't get your PM for some reason, register on SmashMods and I'll make you both moderator and group leader for P:MBR.
May 8th huh? Absolutely! If I have work, I'll take it off. You live in Summerville right? Funny, I forgot. I just partied their last night at a friend's appt. :D

but yeah, is there a thread for the tourney? Also, what's the location?

Thanks for informing me! I appreciate it!
I go to whatever tournaments I have rides to.
That being said, I won't be at WPI anymore by May 8th, so I might just grab a ride with someone else.

Exams in 3 weeks so I'm even less useful than normal. Maybe after that I'll have some time, but I'm also going to be beginning work on an SC2 project (I'm working on a random map generation algorithm which may or may not be part of a larger project depending on how quickly I get bored).

None of the information in the post seems particularly useful nor do I understand how the entire thing works. Maybe with some correspondence with PW I might be able to understand it a little better. I doubt my mathematical expertise would make up for my inferior programming sense compared to PW, either, so I doubt I could draw much from the data that he can't.
shanus, since you and Magus programmed the PS reflect code yourselves...could you tell me how you apply Reflection to other actions?

My specific problem: Fox/Wolf Reflectors are coded so that Reflection occurs IF they are invincible when the projectile hits AND then the reflection occurs on the Hit sub-action. However if the projectile hits on a non-invincible frame of the first sub-action, no reflection occurs.

Idk if this helps but one of the first events sets RA-Basic[2] = IC-Basic[202]
Yeah. Sorry about my lack of posting. Since I still haven't gotten another Brawl disk, I've been playing other games (mostly Borderlands), and haven't really been keeping up with any Brawl-related things. Don't worry, I haven't completely forgotten... I'll be back in action when I get another disk (which is hopefully SOON).
I'm loving it so far. I took notes while I was playing. Where's the best place to post feedback, on the brawlplus.net forum?
