  • Yeah, what's "Fantasy Voilence?" lol ...Imaginative fighting?

"HOLY CRABBY PATTIES, PRETEND FIGHTING! THIS GAME IS AT LEAST RATED T!"

EDIT: Now that I recall... there was a scene in BK (Baten Kaitos) where a large monster was shot down by a squad of troops with guns. You just saw white explosions all over the monster's body like someone was casting Light Flare Lvl.1 on him rapid fire style. ...Blood???

    Circle one: Voilence / Viloence
    Monster Hunter: 1820 Hours
    Monster Hunter F: 0 Hours
    Monster Hunter F2: 400+ Hours
Monster Hunter Wii (if it comes out): More than likely 2700+ Hours.

Random sap on MH1 online: 4600+ Hours.

    ^ I thought I was bad.

Let's see... Baten Kaitos came out in 2001 so it's 8 years old. My bet (100 Coins) is it's... close to... $14.99.

Rated T [Blood / Fantasy Voilence / Mild Language]

Funny... I don't remember any blood in the game. I wonder where they got that.

Be sure to watch some Youtube videos to make sure it's really something you'd be interested in!

And with that, I'm off to bed. See you later.
Yeah I'm using the Wii Browser. And it did take a long time. lol

The game kinda takes time... mainly just to finish. Dungeons aren't usually too terribly long and Save Points are close enough together so you can save frequently. Unlike my cursed Star Ocean where they're 3 hours apart... in this one, there's a Save Point in every town / possibly every "dungeon". The main thing I see time consuming is just finishing the game. I haven't done it yet, lol. But from what I've read, it takes about 60-70 hours to finish. Unless you want to age a certain special item called Shampoo(?). That takes 300 hours.

Longest boss fight by FAR for me was 40 minutes, but I also hear that's the only boss that should take anywhere near that long. I think they're usually 10-15 minutes at most. 20's pusing it. Dungeons vary. They can be anywhere from 5 minutes to 50 minutes long, fights included.
I shot up about... 4-5 levels fighting the enemies in that area. AND learned how to combine items FINALLY (second disc), and stocked up on a sweet item called Sacred Wine (Restores 500HP & 100% chance to cure Death).

AND I better equipped my characters. If I don't beat the boss this time... I'll be a little more than upset, lol.

Yeah, the game is really unique seeing how they use the cards to fight. Normally I hate card games in any form whatsoever... so honestly I hated this game at first. But after a while I gave it a second try, and now that I'm past the beginning, this game is incredible.

On all of your cards, you also have a number in the upper right hand corner called the "Spirit Number". You get bonuses for getting straights or pairs with these numbers. For example:

    I attack.
First I use the Short Sword (3) card, followed by the Saber (4), then Long Sword (5), Long Sword (6).
That was a straight (3), (4), (5), (6), so my total attack that turn just got a % bonus. Or:

    I guard.
Leather Helm (2), Round Shield (2), Leather Jacket (6), Full Helm (6), Leather Helm (6).

That time I got 2 pairs, one with 3 cards, and one with 2 cards.
    (2), (2) = 9% Defense Bonus +
    (6), (6), (6) = 15% Defense Bonus

So it always keeps battling fresh. It's a turnbased game that requires a balanced amount of skill and luck. If you don't know how to play your cards right, you're going to suffer in fights. Yet at the same time it takes luck that you draw the right cards at the right times in fights.

These cards ingame are actually called "Magnus".

***Keep reading only if you're interested in more complicated detail. xD It might get confusing from here.

These Magnus are actually like containers that carry stuff by capturing their "Essence". "Every object / being in the world has their own, unique essence." So you find plenty of different weapons / items throughout stores and dungeons in these Magnus.

Every character you get has their own Deck of different Magnus. Of course you can edit their decks as you see fit. And characters have different preferences for their weapons / equipment Magnus. Like one uses swords, and another uses magic, ect...

Now then, when you first start off in the game, you begin at Class 1. Which means in combat, you can have 4 cards in your hand, able to attack twice per turn, and a deck of 20 Magnus. You can increase each character's class via defeating certain bosses, upping those numbers. Like Class 2 would have a hand of 5 cards, attacks 3x per turn, and a deck of 25.

Earning money is also unique. You don't get it by winning random fights or finding treasure chests... but by taking photos of enemies in combat using an item called "Camera", and selling them. Photos take 10 minutes ingame time to fully develop. The longer you let them develop, the more the photo's worth selling for.

Magnus also change over time as well. For example:

You have a Magnus of an Apple.
    (Recovers 559 HP)

After a certain number of hours playing, it will change.

    Rotten Fruit
(30 Damage, 15% chance of Poison.)

Many Items do different things. You can also combine two or more Magnus to make something new.

The music in the game... is incredible. 'Nuff said. Very bright / colorfull / unique environments. The game's visuals are eye candy.

I personally recommend this game. Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean. It's been out for quite a while, so I don't think it costs that much... if you can find it.
    Game Cube.

INTRO: The story follows an 18-year old boy named Kalas, who was born with only one wing.... YOU play the role as his Guardian Spirit, so you will need to make certain replies from time to time to form greater bonds with your characters. You follow Kalas as he seeks revenge for the death of his family, but as he travels, you soon find yourself to be a part of something much greater than just revenge....
    He's weak against Chrono, actually.

This is a turn-based game where you fight with cards, and so you bring a "deck" with you in combat. You have different kind of cards, ones that are weapons for attack, food ones for healing, and armor ones for defending enemy attacks and such. Run out of cards to use, and you waste a turn "shuffling the deck".

    [My teammates attack]
    Mizuti:
Chronos Burst IV, Fire Burst IV, Light Flare III, Aqua Burst IV, Dark Flare III.
    (450 total damage. Meh-worthy.)

    Gibari:
Wave Paddle, Ice Paddle, Dark Paddle, Stun Paddle, Light Paddle
(Played cards right, 64% atk bonus. 800 total damage, sweet.)

    "Lady Death":
Knuckle Fist, Claw Fist, Fire Claw, Wolf Claw, {Special Attack} Vanish Grenade
    (520 Attack, decent.)

    [Enemy's Turn]

    Kalas: (Attacking "Lady Death")
Slash [Block], Slash [Block], Slash [Block], Slash [Block], Slash [Block], Slash, {Special Attack} Binding Wind
(290 total damage. I can take a few of those hits.)

    "Lady Death" is paralyzed.

    Kalas: (Attacks "Lady Death".)
Slash, Slash, Slash, Slash, Slash, Slash, {Special Attack} Dark Blade
    (596 total damage. Ouch....)

    Kalas heals 596 HPs.

[My turn] (Repeat my first turn, except with fewer attacks since I'm running out of cards)

    *20 minutes later....*
    "Lady Death"--Almost Dead
    Mizuti--Almost Dead
Gibari--Half way dead with nothing but defense cards, so he can't attack.
    Kalas--Almost dead as well.

    [My Turn]
    Mizuti:
(Unable to attack since it has only healing items)

    "Lady Death":
Knuckle Fist, Ice Claws, Power Gloves, Power Gloves
    (Out of cards)
    (392 Damage, bleh.)

    Gibari:
(Unable to attack, has all defensive items.)

    [Enemy Turn]

    Kalas: *Almost Dead* (Attacks Mizuti)
Slash [Block], Slash [Block], Slash, Slash, Slash, Slash, {Special Attack} Binding Winds
    (380 total damage)

    Mizuti is paralyzed.

    Kalas: (Attacks Mizuti)
Slash, Slash, Slash, Slash, Slash, Slash, {Special Attack} Dark Blade
    (596 Damage)

    Kalas heals 596 HP.

    [My Turn]

    "Lady Death":
    "Shuffling the deck".

    Mizuti: Stunned

    Gibari:
(All defensive Items still, no attack ones in sight.)

    [Enemy's Turn]

    Kalas: (Attacks Mizuti)
Slash, Slash, Slash, Slash, Slash, Slash, {Special Attack} Dark Blade
    (596 dmg)

    Kalas heals 596 HPs.
    Mizuti dies.

    [My turn]

    "Lady Death":
*Uses Sacred Wine and Apple on Mizuti to revive it*
    (650 HPs recovered)

    Gibari:
    (All defensive items)

    Mizuti:
Light Flare III, Dark Flare III, Fire Burst III, Chronos Blow III, Fire Burst IV
    (420 total damage. Meh)

    [Enemy turn]

Long story short, Kalas kills Mizuti again, healing another 596 HPs.
    Sheesh....

Baten Kaitos. I spent 36 minutes on a boss ultimately leading to my slow death. I'm trying to think of a word that describes the way this boss fights other than "gay" since I don't normally use it in that fashion, but nothing else comes to mind, hahah... hah... HAH?! *Crushes Wiimote with fist*

Normally I'd just quit the game, but it's really good, so... I'll just waste more time of my life by powerleveling and hope that does the trick.
I need to do some school research myself, too. But for the career I'm interested in, there's only one school in my area that I know of in that area of study... but I need to double-check just in case. And study before I take their entrance exam. IF I can afford going there.... Anyways, good luck deciding which school you want.

As for your opponent, I highly doubt they're going to be too challenging for you. So try not to own him too hard. Give him a stock or two.
You catch me the one time I'm online in 3 days....

I know you have that Gigas Alarm now. Where is it? lol xD

Nothing much... just got back from a clothing store... hung up my clothes... and checking my messages. You?
Hey, pal. I heard that Dojo was fail thanks to a certain someone.
I see that Seth mentioned our situation.
Sorry that we couldnt be there at Chu's dojo. Our parents made us give the money we were saving to go to the tournament to pay for car insurance because they didnt have enough money :(
I couldn't make it to chus house because of last second money issues... and I got alot going on in my life right now... ALOT.
Worse. There's no terrorist AT ALL to start with. First there's nothing, in a perfectly square room, with one exit. There's you, 3 other SEALs, and a hostage. Cuff the hostage, then suddenly there's a tengo behind us blazing his gun. I'VE CLEARED ALL OF THE SURROUNDING ROOMS.
I played SOCOM again the other day and learned something.

    I don't like teleporting terrorists.
Santa: "I give WiFi to the naughty children."
    *Kid gets Brawl with WiFi*
Kid: "NO MOMMY, I PROMISE I WON'T BE BAD ANYMORE! NOOO, DON'T MAKE ME PLAY IT! CHILD ABUSE!"
Yeah. He would use B>, and I'd just stand out of reach. As he slides across the floor... *stickies*
    SHFair. I spotdodge and... *stickies*
    He shields. *Stickies*

He was getting pee'd but I was laughing like crazy the whole match.
I played some offline matches with L8er. I think my Snake stickied about 6 C4s on his Falcon in one match. I laughed so hard.
Yeah, I couldn't handle being hungry when the family was eating beef stew and cake. -_- But I did get in my sword practice before then and noticed somewhat of an improvement. Probably because I worked on concentration today instead of random practice, so that's a plus of today.
ha ha lol wow! im thinking about making my second pikachu :p oh guess what? i went to a tourney is SC! it was small, but i got second in teams and 5th in singles :D
    1:45PM
No food yet, still going good. Definitely hungry, but not quite starving yet. Temptation to eat is high, but still resisting.
This is a lesson of self-control over body and spirit. Pending on a number of variables, I might try two days starting this Saturday. Might.
Yeah, MoH:H2 is on the Wii.

If you got your PS2 online with SOCOM 3 / Combined Assault, I'd play that all the time with ya, lol. More than we did Brawl, that's for sure.
I think MoH:H2 has probably the highest replay value of the ones I mentioned, if you like FPS's. (Except for SOCOM, but that's on a PS2 which I don't think you have.)
Well, online is pretty much a suped-up Capture the Flag using different Triforce pieces. Both players take turns. Player A runs on the field carrying as many pieces possible while Player B controlls 3 knights in attempt to slash and "tag-out" Player A. Once that happens, it's Player B's turn.

It's pretty fun IMO, the replay value a little higher than FE's. I've gotten owned hard a couple times before, so this game definitely takes skill.

I remember one guy pwned me so hard, I just threw all of my pieces at his base. lol He kept sending me all these different faces signaling he was probably laughing his butt off.

    "OOOOH!"
    "YAAAAY"
    "Aaaaaw"
