Occasionally when Geno is brought up as a newcomer option, I see a lot of people ask "why Geno but not Mallow?"
I've been playing SMRPG recently, and I think I can finally answer that: Geno hits like a ****ing truck, while Mallow almost feels like dead weight by the time Geno joins the party.

Currently making a Smash roster with my IRL friends. Up until now I've mostly worked on these rosters by myself and they mostly appealed to the core Smash fandom, i.e. people who post here.
So now that I ditched that mentality, it's interesting to do something different and work with people whose gaming tastes are pretty wildly different and have a very casual enjoyment of Smash Bros. Characters like Isaac and Geno are still on the roster since I also have input, but the roster is overall much more diverse.
They have a platformer bias but that's okay since the characters I chose are mostly from JRPGs.

I played Smash Wii U last night.
This game is ****ing weird to go back to after Ultimate. The controls are bizarre, the CPUs are extremely annoying, classic mode is a ****ing mess and "Smash Tour" is a word combination I don't ever want to hear again in my life.
It's gonna be fun to 100% this game.

Apparently I made a nearly complete moveset for Decidueye back in the day....
It probably sucks though. I didn't usually take game design into account during my short tenure at making moveset and I still don't know much about it, so the movesets I made unfortunately reflect that. I might take another crack at it one day, when I really have nothing better to do, but it's unlikely.

It's kind of sad to visit support threads for characters who are already disconfirmed and see people doing mental gymnastics to convince themselves that their character still has a chance. Even sadder when it's a character I would genuinely love to see.
