    It's kind of sad to visit support threads for characters who are already disconfirmed and see people doing mental gymnastics to convince themselves that their character still has a chance. Even sadder when it's a character I would genuinely love to see.

    Decidueye aside, I really don't want another starter in Smash. Especially the Gen 8 ones who are THE most boring batch of starters since Gen 2.

    Well that's the thing, I don't think they look cool. I think they look generic and boring in addition to having underwhelming stats.

    @GamerZardEX , you say more than enough things that offends people so I wouldn’t be talking about being offended if I were you. Jondolio is allowed to think Gen 2 is voting just as much as you’re allowed to like Gen 2. It’s a matter of preference. Some people prefer one gen over another while others value stats over appearances. That’s just how life works but getting offended over it is childish. It’s important to learn to accept differences in opinion and value input contrary to your own. Otherwise, your own personal development growth becomes stagnant and unproductive.

    I don't know if this is a controversial opinion around here but I genuinely think most potential Nintendo newcomers that people want are super boring

    There's always multiple contenders. Little Mac set a precedent that Isabelle and Dark Samus followed.
    I'd like to see Waluigi and Isaac get promoted and Shovel Knight would be cool, but most of the other popular options do nothing for me personally.

    I'll die on the hill of thinking Sylux would be the most boring Metroid choice to add at the moment.

    Sure, he may have a role in Prime 4 (one which could end up like Boba Fett in Return Of The Jedi anyways). But what is there right now to give him a moveset? Just stuff to maybe make him a Samus echo fighter with a different Final Smash.
    Giving him a new moveset right now would be basically making stuff up as Sakurai did back then with Captain Falcon.

    I agree. We know basically nothing about the guy other than the fact he might be important in a game that we know very little about other than the fact it's in development.
    Also, while I don't really care about "reps" that much, Metroid's cast just seems so complete right now. I didn't think Ridley would make it in and I definitely didn't expect Dark Samus to join as well. Considering there's at least 2 other original 8 series whose casts are missing one character to feel complete it just seems kind of excessive to add one more, especially since Metroid is not a very character driven series.
