What? FF games are so much fun I've played 1-13 minus 11 and 13-2!

FFX's ending was soooo sad :(

I didn't use my shield.

Therefore I had a metal shield in Lanayru too.
How did you beat the missile shooting robots without using a shield?
Same. I always quit before the final boss.
FF Final bosses are pushovers unless your level is sub-par. You have to know what to do though.

^

FFXII's Ending wasn't sad as much as depressing. Everyone drifts apart. It reminds me of finishing highschool.

The part I dreaded the most in playing through Skyward Sword the 2nd time was all the talking scenes. Even with the ability to skip through some scenes, there is quite a lot of talking.

I'm feeling optimistic today.

I think Zelda has one of the best ledge covering movesets in the game, and I think Zelda has one of the easiest times getting off the ledge than most characters in the game. In fact, I think she's up there with Wolf, due to her ledge options being deceivingly fast.

I very rarely get punished for doing any ledge option <100%, though >100% sometimes people start punishing me unless I jump, but other than that, I find it so easy to get up from the ledge with Zelda compared to someone like Sheik (With Sheik, I feel VERY unsafe on the ledge, trying to get back up. I don't have this feeling with Zelda).

What do you guys think?

I'm reckless and usually go for ledge hop Nair or LK. Landing LKs like that feel soooo good and has won me a few matches. Not that good people fall for it :/ .

Considering I also play Link, Wolf and G&W (and others) from my point of view Zelda has nice ledge hops because her floatyness but that's the only notable thing. She can do tricks with Farow's and Uair through the stage but she can't plank and has no way to pressure the opponent and make them come to the ledge. Zelda can get back onto the stage alright but the ledge doesn't add anything to her game if the opponent's already on stage.

Her ledge hop is pretty godlike dude. She can do stuff faster than pretty much everyone else in the game. Compared to Sheik, Zelda's ledge hop is better by like a tenfold.

Her planking sucks though but I was never talking about that anyway. I was saying that her ledge options are safe.

Yeah I agree with that. Zelda has the hardest time recovering but once she gets back on the stage (and doesn't get punished from the lag) or on the ledge it's all good :)

Zelda does have good safe ledge hop options. It's a combination of how good the 2nd jump is, the character's air movement vs fall speed, aerial options from there, and landing canceling factors.
I wouldn't call Zelda's godlike.
Yoshi beats her by 2nd jump, air movement and aerial attacks/airdodge. Same with Wario, Jigglypuff, squirtle and G&W.
Marth's Fair's so good it makes up for the other factors. He can counter too.
Fox/Falco can forwardB and Wolf can mix in scaring. Fox's Fair has nice rising properties too.
MK can be a cheap wad.
All these^ ledge hops beat Zelda's ledge hop options without factoring other options like planking etc. Zelda's ledge hop gets the job done but is far from the best.

Kat new thread title please? :D

Oh nice happy modding! Speaking of mods... I think there aren't any Canadian mods anymore. There are three that I know of that all retired recently :(

So yeah... not guaranteed if Din's goes above Zelda but her dair can cancel Din's... but I'm sure you all knew that but I didn't!

I can't think of a catchy new title. Someone think of one and PM me so it's a surprise.

Typical Courier emo moment~

Been feeling really down but it's not about Zelda but Brawl in general. I think I do put in work for this video game but it's kinda discouraging that I don't see any visible proof that I'm improving. Sure everybody else is improving but I wonder what's the point when you keep losing.

Then I get told this which is depressing x_x

I just find it hard to believe that your style of play would be so specific that it could only be applied to one of the worst characters in the game. I think playing a low tier actually reflects how skilled you are as a player (and by this I mean it shows you're not very skilled). I mean yeah there are exceptions to this rule, but typically low tiers' options are always going be severely limited, meaning you're not exposing yourself to a diverse range of situations. As a top tier you have soooo many more options to experiment with, you can't help but get better. People who play low tiers tend to move a small amount from their skill level or just don't develop as quickly compared to people who play good characters, not only because top tiers are better, but because they are better at making you better. This is also why playing multiple characters can make you better.

Like yeah I've picked up Peach and I do decent in friendlies (except Diddy... I really need to pick up bananas like I do with Zelda) but with the chance of MK being legal like at my last tourney which I couldn't take part of... I'm left with a -4 matchup with Zelda or a -3 with Peach.

What do, Zeldas?

I can see what he's saying and I suppose I can agree with what was said.

If you click the little arrow beside the poster's username in the quote, it'll take you to the thread and specific post.

Learning a wide range of characters will help all your characters; I 100% agree with that. Playing at least a few low tiers will seriously improve your game in the long run. A difference between low and high tiers is low tiers can't be cheap. Everything lowTs do they have to think, plan and space well very quickly to keep up. Playing Link (arguably the hardest character to play effectively) gave me a great sense of spacing and DI. It also taught me mindgames and to not be impulsive aggro.
You've got to keep at it and pull through to the place where you can keep better characters from taking advantage of Zelda's weaknesses and use her strengths. Look at players like Linkz and Ven (and others I haven't played). Their Zeldas wreck. Low tier players all start out getting owned,

but eventually you learn to use a character to their strengths and win bad MUs (sometimes).

Learning low tiers is one of the best ways to improve; it will help other high tier characters too.

I don't get it. Din made the earth, Farow life and Nayru natural laws. The spells had no Earth element and the Earth temple was basically that version of the standard 'Goron Mines' or fire dungeon.
Zelda has Nayru's triforce but that's not in the title. :/
