Oh dear... I told my friend about it and he posted this in the Smash Lab, haha.

Zelda's retreating/approaching DACUS to come? :D

I told a friend of mine too, and he thinks that there's nothing special about f-smash in particular, and he theorises that we could use this for any move.

IMAGINE RETREATING UPSMASH XD

Edit:

When I desync'd the replay, I can confirm that d-smash is able to benefit from the slide as well.

Also, it definitely has something to do with our crouch. It's kinda like a bdacus out of it. It's hard to explain, but Courier must have put some unusual commands while he was crouching and standing up again.

atm I have a bit of work to do, and I want a shower since I smell, and I want to eat. So gonna have to stop for now. ;___;

Wait... did you figure out how to do this then? Unusual commands are usual to me :p

Where is Mocha, our tech queen!?

Unfortunately... no.

See, I'm just looking at the commands I can "see".

Similar to how you can't see the buffered dash attack in Falco's bdacus out of spotdodge, I can't actually see what you're inputting.

All I "see" is a crouch to a weird slide. You didn't press any attack buttons and I doubt you pressed a jump button, so I'm... very confused.

I'll keep working on it though.

I'm just hoping the Smash Lab will help out. They have all the resources that I don't really have access to. Hmmz.

:urg: . Oh well, every AT has been discovered by now anyway. The only barely new ATs are "I found a new way to SD with this freak-DI glitch that made me stage spike that dash attack" or whatever. *sigh*

When using Din's in situations when a range attack might hit me I angle it down. That way if I loose control it will still hit the ground and detonate on the opponent.

As long as you do not expect to win a tournament, but instead beating as much people as possible, using Zelda in tournament is a good option.
As in, earning a victory with her it is very satisfying, but it is frustrating to lose 80% of the time even though you always try to do your best and more.

Zelda makes me lose sets. I've decided only to use her for the second match, it's just hard for me to remember that resolve though.

ANYWAY

Went to the dentist again today.

Dental check up and xrays: $129
7 urgent fillings: $1430
The look on Aero's face when he saw how much the fillings will cost him: Priceless

For everything else, there's Mastercard.

Oh dear... I'm thankful I haven't really needed fillings for quite some time.

Getting 4 wisdom teeth removed... that really hurt the wallet x_x

Well of course, Zelda made sure those who used her would have healthy wisdom teeth :p
I lol'd, Mocha has a good sense of humor.

Be like Mocha and you'll have a ton of wins. Stop blaming it on your character. If you play smart enough, you can beat ANYONE. It's just hard.

Mocha got 9th the past two tournaments offline she went to, out of I think 20 something and 17. Beat at least three people in each, and lost to good players when she did lose. I should also mention, before that, she's had some other pretty decent sets offline and some pretty nice placings too, considering she goes all Zelda.

And on wifi, she got top 32 in AllIsBrawl's last ladder (http://allisbrawl.com/ladder/player.aspx?id=72041) winning 8 out of 10 sets, and is right now in 7th place on the current AiB dubs ladder, a feat that not many can pull off. Only low tier user that high up, everyone else uses MK that gets high up there for the most part.

Neither is easy (especially wifi, for those who play offline a lot), but Mocha can do it. So yeah, not really over rated (under rated actually imo).

K, I'm gonna leave Mocha to go around dissing herself again. Just bringing up the facts, you can win or do ok with Zelda if you put in the work.

*goes on to dissing*

Wifi is a pain in the rear, I can hardly stand it. And no one cares about my online achievements lol. But yes, doubles ladder is pretty much Meta Knight everywhere + high tiers. To be fair my partner (Diska) is a Snake main, so it's not like we went in with a complete low tier team either :p

Eh my offline stuff is nothing special. Just results stating that I attended. My placings... I just get lucky sometimes. And sometimes I don't

I don't mean to be insensitive in any way but for some reason some jerk calling someone a masochist for using Zelda is so stupid it's hilarious. Seriously, WTF? Did they pull a random negative word out of a hat? Lol.

 Ouch, on multiple levels of the word. That sucks. At least you're getting it over with.

Mocha is really good, no doubt about it.
The Hyrule tier is last for a reason; low tiers have serious disadvantages in most MUs and some are realistically unwinnable. Low tier players have to accept this and play anyway or are just plain ignorant.
There are low tiers and there are bottom tiers, who have even worse MUs. No match is unwinnable (I like the ending of this one) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QvrPS80bD8 but of course I lost the next 2. And a loss is a loss no matter how close the game is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=preY48AVDJw . One mistake and low tiers are sc***ed :urg:. It can be very frustrating.

tl;dr
Low tier players use those characters because we want to and do our best but if our goal was to win we'd pick high tiers.

Thing is... I've started this game since the summer. The only people I get to practise with are those who have years more experience than I do. And it's definitely not completely Zelda's fault but people just know Zelda SO well (and my habits) and she gets exploited much more easily as a result.

In tourney, our numbers are small so I end up playing one of these people where I'm pretty much going to lose.

I'm sure Mocha is a very good player but does she have to play people that know her habits and character to a tee in tourney? That's Zelda's big advantage... that people don't know the matchup seem to struggle. While you can argue that I have the same advantage... it's freaking Zelda.

Here's one example... we all know Zelda's recovery sucks. It's gotten to the point where it's a huge risk just to recover to the ledge with Farore's. I have to land on the stage where I get punished due to my ending lag. I've stopped Love Jumping because I almost always get punished for doing so...

And yes, I"m a terrible player I won't deny that. I'm new but Zelda is ridiculously bad and difficult to use... :urg:

Edit: Oh and I don't think I'll drop Zelda completely. There are cases where my Zelda seems to be better than Peach such as the Diddy matchup. Peach is definitely a more difficult character to use than Zelda but she's so much fun to use. Learned how to up air string the other day... can't wait to pull it off one day :)

I also can't glide toss consistently with Zelda anymore... since Peach's timing is different and I use it very often. I also end up transforming with Zelda right after using Peach a lot because I try to pull turnips. I suck :c

Don't shortchange yourself because a Snake user tells you to deal with your characters weaknesses.

Your Zelda is very good, and for a new player, you play the game very well. A friend of mine (who originally pointed out the weird f-smash thing, which ended up being falco being a stupid character) asked me if you were a top Zelda from that video he watched. Keeping in mind that he's one of Australia's best players, he's pretty good at judging skill.

You aren't wrong at all.

If you went Peach, you will place better, simply because the difference between Peach and Zelda is so immense...

I feel the same way with my new main; Wolf.

Just food for thought.

I appreciate the compliment, but compared to the other Zeldas I'm nowhere close to their level.

My Peach is apparently better than my Zelda but I don't see it. With more practise and simply not letting nerves/fear get in the way of my gameplay and "techskill", (because I start doing nothing but dair/fair when I get nervous) I'm sure I'll surpass my Zelda quickly.

Your Zelda is good, you're just having trouble dealing with people who know the match up.

I have the same problem here down under.

Aww that sucks =/

Can you dispute it? That's what some people do if they don't want to pay. The police can't be bothered to come settle the matter so it's always ruled in your favour :/

Too much effort, it would just result me in going to court, having to pay legal fees and then still having it ruled in their favour and I'd have to pay anyway. lol

Here in the states typically any legal fees are taken care of by the state. And a lot of times since the officer has to show up to dispute it, if it isn't something he feels passionately about (he was just making quota etc.) he won't show up and you won't have to pay a thing.

I don't know how it works in Australia but it might be worth taking a look into it if it is a lot of money to you.

It should be Christmas themed so that we don't have to change it for quite some time.

Kat / Sonic aren't here often enough!
