The best Bowser was in SM64. His entrance in the battles was intimidating. I know it wasn't just me being a little kid because even me mum found it intimidating (as intimidating as a kid's platformer can be).

Yeah, he was pretty damn badass-looking...not to mention gigantic, and yet, Mario could still swing him around.
I think Bowser should be bigger, stronger and heavier in the next SSB. (something resembling his Brawl- or Project M version)

Bowser will probably always be low tier unless he gets some unintended mechanic like an infinite or op grab releases. His inherest design is just bad for smash. He's too big and they can't make him have above average frame data and mobility because that contradicts his character.

His weight isn't really the problem because he's already the heaviest, plus it'd mean he'd get combod even harder.

Have you seen him at Brawl-? He is easily one of the best there due to being even harder to knockout, great buff in moveset (tons of KO moves) and having super armor. He should be like that. Well, maybe not THAT broken...but similiar.

Either way, I'll keep liking and using him.

You mean that guy who has medical problems with his hands? Congrats. I suppose you want a medal for beating a paraplegic in a bike race as well?

I have no idea how Syracuse ranks up, but congratulations I think.

I gave a look at the site out of curiosity, and what - over 200 majors? That's ****ing gigantic! I can't wrap my European Head around that haha.

Well what people can major in is extremely diverse.

Syracuse has, I think, near/over 30,000 kids (undergraduates and graduate students).

Thanks guys :]

Random question, hypothetically if Bowser a pokemon what type do you think he'd be?

He'd obviously have to be fire, but he seems like he'd suit a secondary type too. Dragon seems natural but he's not actually a dragon (although he'd probably still have dragon moves anyway. Dark might make sense because he's evil and does a lot of dark magic.

I'd imagine his stats would be something like-

HP 100
Atk 130
Def 140
Spa 100
Spd 45
Spe 45

He'd be a physical attacker but he'd need a decent spa stat so that he can use his signature flamethrower.

Before people criticise me, just know that it's 2 am here.

Sorry, I don't play Pokemons.
I play FE instead.
If Bowser were in FE, his growths would be:

HP: 100%
Str: 55%
Skill: 40%
Spd: 35%
Luck: 20%
Def: 65%
Res: 25%

His stat growth total is 340%, whereas Ike's total is 365%.
You'd have to make it higher than 365 because apparently it inverts the whole "being good or bad" thing when transferring the character to Brawl.

Well, I see him transferring a better defensive game (like it wasn't good already) and some stronger attacks. Maybe even a super armor.

I think it'd be cool to start a Bowser metagame/tactical thread, where we list mix ups etc.

I didn't want to make the thread unless people thought it was a good idea.

So I'll take that to mean people aren't interested then.

Damn, I wanted to learn interesting tactics and theorycraft stuff that no one would think would work.

We've had, like, three of those threads, not the least of which is my own guide which I opened up for just such discussion.

I know Flayl made two I think.

Ahk I didn't see that because it's not on the front page. There was some nice stuff in there. That should probably be stickied instead of the old guides, it's much more helpful and up to date.

In that thread you mentioned turning around as a viable mix up. I'm starting to use double pivot jabs (as the name implies, pivoting, then pivot jabbing back the other way). I don't know why it works but it does.

You also mentioned in that thread that it's better to have your back to opponents while they're on the edge, but you said the downside is that you can't jab on reaction. You can just have your back to them and pivot jab. You can even pivot bomb (although I haven't perfected this yet). Although the other side is that you can't fh fair to cover options.

Could you please link the other thread you guys were talking about? I can't find it because it's not on the front page.

Hey, guys. There's a stream of K Prime and Vermanubis going on now. They're speedrunning SNES games, and they're playing Turtles in Time right now. It's so hype!

EDIT: I'd spread the word further, but I don't want to risk an infraction for spamming.

EDIT 2: Well, considering this post had gotten nowhere, suffice it to say this has been an absolute misfire. Probably should've posted in the Pool Room or something.

Let's start with MK again. I think it needs more detail.

You mean the MK MU or...?

I figured with Meta Knight banned, wouldn't the Match-up be of a lower priority to learn and worry about? Granted, there are still MK-enabled tourneys, but how long will those go on?
