Mew2king said nothing about losing at ALL. The only thing he said about losing was that he would lose to shroomed in a FRIENDLY because he doesnt have a good controller. All he said was an opinion about controllers, NOT EVEN FIGHTING WITH HUNGRYBOX, if anything, hungrybox called him dumb, and he brushed it off. And i agree with him. As a peach main, i can use almost 80% of controllers, but if i play fox, i have to have my controller, no others. Its just the way it feels.

I really like the ideas in this post, but I think Mew2King was just saying that for some characters having a good controller is necessary, not that not having a good controller is what has caused him to lose certain matches and that its not his fault because of that. This what I hope at least, because having a good controller is within his control and something he can make a change about to help his game.

@Bing I don't necessarily think that Zhu is top 10, just that I find it surprising all the people who consider Axe in the top 10 in comparison to how few people are even throwing Zhu's name around when they are fairly near in abilities I'd say.

Axe has consistently competed with Armada the past few times they've played. Moreso than many other top 10 players. When they play it honestly seems like axe is going to take the set at any second sometimes (then armada does that thing where he like won't die ever).

Also his Falco is pretty mean you should check it out.

No, it's because of his peak in 2010 -> 2011... Getting 5th at Apex 2010, 4th at Pound V, 3rd at Zenith (beating ****ing M2K in WSF), going to NorCal and DESTROYING SilentSpectre and Shroomed. He hasn't been placing as well lately though, but I can see why people have high opinions of Axe. I'm sure he easily has the potential to be top 10.

Hbox. Has taken a set off Armada, the reason Armada uses Ylink
PPMD Has taken a set off Armada. They have close and hype sets.
Mango Taken sets off Armada, really hype and close sets(Excluding Apex, Mango got ****ed up)
Shroomed Had an incredibly close set at Apex, I dont know anything past that.

That's really bad logic. Have you considered that maybe Armada has no idea how to fight Pikachu? (Neither did I when I played him the first time and I got RAAAAPED)

I'm also pretty sure I only did so well because Armada isn't super experienced vs Peach and I learned this game from playing against 3 Peach mains.

I love Axe but he lost to MacD at Genesis 2 iirc so I wouldn't put him top 10.

I have taken more games of armada (except for hbox which took 3 in a single set) during the last year but that doesn't make me top 10

I have also "owned" Armada (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I2_8afY7q7A&feature=channel&list=UL&t=9m15s, and I usually win by a good margin when I take games).
The thing is, that doesn't really matter if you can't win an entire set. Placing higher is what you should rank skill off, not the fact that I /Axe have better combo games (or offense, in mangos/axe case) than players who place above us.

losing to lots of "worse" players is a huge weakness and should be considered when ranking people.
Consistency is amazingly hard to achieve =/

Dude, SK, you're wrong. Obviously if Axe had never done well, people wouldn't top-10 him. But people are arguing that even though he top-5'd a bunch of stuff a year ago, he wouldn't be appearing in so many modern top-10's if he didn't play an awesome mid-tier character. Seems reasonable; I don't think a falco player with this many disappointing performances in a row would still get top-10 love.

I'm not looking down on anyone, I feel the same way. If Axe had gotten those placings with Falco I wouldn't consider him anywhere near as amazing as I do now, at least, subconsciously.

Everyone loves watching the underdog, you can't possibly deny that. If an underdog does something impressive that someone else has done several times before, don't you still feel that the underdog is better?
