The only major he's missed was Apex and that was because it was his birthday. He travels more often than SS; they got 2nd in teams at pound. In the past year he's gone to genesis, smym twice, all over texas, pound, etc. We just had a smashfest at his house on Wednesday lol

PC Chris hosts smashfest at his house pretty often these days and attended P4 etc . . .

0. Mango
1. Hungrybox
2. Mew2King
3/4/5. PP
3/4/5. Shiz
3/4/5. Axe

Would probably be my list. Beyond that, it's a gamble.

The first post is pretty much spot on but consistency issue are holding back alot of players from making that list. I wish Lucky played how he at Pound 4 all the time. Not knocking Joey but he's probably top 5 on a good day. But that's irrelevant because alot of players have god-like days too.
That list looks great, I think Ka Master should be in a tight contention for 9-11 place. I do agree with Darcs placing, he is very good.

LoL Wobbles and Axe wouldn't have been under consideration up until Apex, then they put on the best performances of their smash careers. You kind of have to give them top 10 after Apex. But now they have a lot of expectations to live up to.

I don't agree with Chu dat or colbol being placed on the top 10 though.

I don't see what either of those two have done to surpass other contenders.

axe and wobbles have been this good for quite a while. just because you haven't noticed it doesn't mean it's not true! it's been a long time coming and it couldn't happen to two better people! check out their posts dude -- few smashers are more humble!

take a hint! if you were as humble as them you wouldn't keep choking at nationals! i did you a huge favor by ranking you where i did!

But I was referring to Chu Dat and Colbol, not axe and wobbles.

Those two do deserve top 10 status after their performances, but within the lower half of the top 10 for sure.

For what it's worth, Wobbles won two regionals in a row before doing very well at Apex. I wouldn't say that Apex is his only claim to fame in recent times.

edit: Actually, I need to double check that; he did win at least one, though.

edit 2: Upon further searching, he won that one regional and a few locals. Not as great, but it still established him as a strong contender a while before Apex.

The one where he beat Iori and Zhu right? I was well aware of that one.

Or the one where he beat Darkrain? Cuz I was well aware of that one too. Can't say that made him a certain top 10. But now his top 10 status is solidly claimed.

I'm still not comfortable with axe at top 10, but I can't argue with Apex.

Especially after noting performances like Scar's at Genesis, I would be slightly more hesitant to put someone like Axe at a spot like #6 after one amazing tournament showing. Probably lower down on the top 10?

I also don't think Kage deserves to be on this list at all. ...Because he isn't from the USA LOL

Adam, why do you keep replying? Why do you keep falling in the same trap every time! Ignore the negative! It says a lot that it keeps happening on smash boards: it says that you should stop visiting!

You're right Toph, oops forgot Kage is from Canada.
I think Axe does deserve top 10 because he has beaten PP Jman and Shiz and has had a strong showing vs Armada. Simply, He's done great at 3 national tournaments and has shown he hang with the big kids on the big stage. Like the issue is consistency and I think the players on Adams list from 1-10 have less upsets on their records than 11-15.
I dont agree with the list on every player though Colbol Silent Wolf versus Vanz Lucien Ka master.

vanz is an interesting case! i like him a lot! you're right that i may be underrating him indeed, but his domination by dr. peepee was quite thorough!

the main reason i didn't include him (or hardly any EC players) is that no one has separated themselves from the EC pack! it's just a bunch of wanna-bes alpha male-ing it to battle it over that top spot imo. cactuar could come out of retirement and be instantly better than their whole squad!

look at how scar did on the EC! then he came here and got absolutely *****! why? ego! ego is not how you become a top player!

honestly? if shroomed traveled more he'd make top 15. silent wolf is great but he still hasn't mastered the mental game imo! once he does he'll be the best in the world!

no one has been able to separate from the pack in norcal in a while.

its always been jeff at the top and then 4 or 5 others really close knit together, with those 4/5 players rotating in and out.

I think Colbol/ChuDat should be replaced by SS/HugS. The latter pair are way more consistent in placing at regionals. You look at SS and his tourney resume and it's nothing but consistency all around. 9th at Pound 4, 3rd at Mango Juice, 3rd at Pat's House, top 2 at almost all CGC events. HugS had one "bad" tourney, Pound 4, where he got placed in possibly the worst death pool of all time in 3rd round. Ever since then he's been dominating.

My not-so-accurate-after-the-top-5 list:

1. Mango
2. Hungrybox
3. Mew2King
4. Dr. PeePee
5. Jman
6. Zhu
7. DaShizWiz
8. Tope
9. SilentSpectre
10. Axe
11. Wobbles
12. HugS
13. Hax
14. Lucky
15. Darkrain

i think you're right about SS! huggies... we'll see about him! i'm going to $20 mm him at grev so we'll definitely see! if i beat him i'm taking him off the list! hahahaha!

colbol isnt' as consistent as he used to be it seems... i'm not sure! any floridians want to provide input? colbol himself?

what makes you say chudatz isn't as consistent as hugo/ss? SS lost to tope; hugo didn't make it out of pools @ p4. what comparative upsets does chu datz have?

well i do know he lost to plank recently! this is all very interesting

That's true EC is very reserved. I too think Shroomed can make top 15 but he lacks the detailed matchup knowledge and adaptation atm to kick it into high gear. He is a very grounded player though and good at all stages and matchups wit doc, I would love to have to have his tournament composure. Pewpewu also is top notch and just needs that national exp.
EC is really the Jman show feat. etc there is nothing wrong with that though. Jman is godlike.
Those hidden bosses like Cactuar and King do lend themselves to some odd happenings. themselves at this day and age. If they went to every tourney they would make their regions alot better imo. its kinda like osmosis but being around more national caliber players imo is a tremendous motivator.

Chu dat has withstood the test of time(very few upsets) if he doesnt get top 10, who is more deserving? sure there are players with better wins than chu but IMO the list of great players in US is defined by how why when and what they Win. not just if they win. I know that sounds dumb but i think its understandable.chu has been a legit top 5 threat for like 8 million years. you wont see chu dat shaken by bad match ups or stages. There are alot of good players but they have match up holes in their games that destroy them. Whether is be Shieks vs falcons Marths vs Samus etc. Marth vs Falco
etc. its like how mewtwoking doesnt lose to counter characters below his skill level bleh or something

(imo)

0. Mango
1. HBox
2. M2K
3. Dr. PP
4. Wobbles
5. Jman
6. Axe
(7). Shiz (assuming he goes but is out of practice)

These are the six / seven players I see actually going to every national and are most likely to place around their respected ranking. I wouldn't really expect any of them to lose to anyone but each other (none of them are notoriously bad at any matchup, kind of what Bobby was describing about Chu). Everyone after this is kind of a tossup, only because many of our great players don't travel enough / don't have opportunities to show their consistency. There are so many people I'd love to see compete at Genesis / Pound / Apex level tournaments but I can only dream...

Cause I get ***** at locals LOL. Results kind of speak for itself.

And also cause I see myself potentially losing to many more players than the seven I listed.
