umm overswarm no johns isai would still mm ppl in ssb64.

also whatever you want to say about the game and how it isn't camping changes nothing. you can't make people like it. you didn't address that at all. a lot of people find it boring because it is so slow paced and defensive. you pretty much just called all of them dumb. at least that's what i get from you.

when i say camping i mean much more defensive than melee. you can't deny that. you can deny my use of camping. i guess it's a harsh term for what the game is in your mind. me and watty play and whoever i play with really i try to be offensive. it doesn't work a lot of the time for one, and it's boring even if it does. i guess i should get over that brawl isn't melee, but i can complain if i want.

i don't care if brawl has a gamebreaking boring technique, i just care that it's boring. you enjoy camping, you said it yourself. you're one of the few. maybe that's why the game is fun to you. i do not enjoy it.

I haven't had the patience to page through all 30 pages of this so here's what I think.I think that camping just shows your lack of skill.I for one don't really camp.I may to charge an Aura Sphere or try and PK Freeze someone but I don't revolve my strategy around camping mostly because I can't camp well and that it just isn't any fun doing it all the time.I really enjoy playing Brawl as opposed to some.

I notice you are from MN so I have some questions for you. 1. Did you go to Dumb., 2. If they had pools did you make it out of pools?, and 3. If you made it out of pools what place did you get in the bracket?

This is all because you said you try to play offensively rather than just wading in and out trying to space attacks/camping I'm just curious how well it worked for you in tourny.

Offensive play in Brawl is completely based on spacing attacks properly to not get punished when you attack someone's shield. That and baiting airdodges on recovery.

Lack of skill is only shown by losing. Winning is the only indicator of skill. If camping lets you win, then for all intents and purposes, you are more skilled than everyone you beat.
You'll lose all respect in the community and no one will wish to play with you anymore, but at least you'll be better than everyone right?

yeah, let's see you get far with that attitude

Last I checked, people have been wanting to play with me nonstop. I've gotten dozens of PMs, IMs, and e-mails from people just wanting to play. They want to get better, they want to win.

Winning is a pretty good thing to go for. The whole "honor" thing died out when every culture that had a military that clung to ideals such as that were soundly defeated.

It's not just about honor, it's about respect. It's a terrible feeling when everyone around you knows you camp to win, and most of them would not engage you in friendlies. Then again some would want to play you in order to understand how to beat your playing style. That doesn't mean they like you or will offer any advice to you in the future.

camping to win isn't wrong when it's pretty much forced by the game itself

in layman's terms, don't hate the player, hate the game lolz

This. Camping is annoying and is a dominant strategy in this game, but don't hate on those using it since it's the best way to win and be good at Brawl.

I have no problem at all finding people to play friendlies, especially online. My PM box is full of people asking me to play and they all know I camp. People around the midwest aren't burning effigies of me.

If someone is hated because they camp, they're hanging around a bunch of losers.

Seriously. I don't hate Overswarm, I just hate Brawl. I wish the whole community would just go back to melee. :(

ROFL I don't hate Overswarm the person, bnut I very much dislike Overswarm the game player there is a difference his views on games is completely terrible in my and most other people's that I know opinions. As a person he is pretty cool, but just as in melee I wouldn't want to play him in friendlies or tourny in Brawl even though I could defintely beat him in melee well at least did beat him the last time I played him it is just a highly annoying match.

What I thnk of this whole campfest thing is that is more angering and makes people make stupid mistakes then they usually would make. Usually when I'm playing a match with a camper, I have to go about it clear headed and accept the lost if I'm not able to control the ground of the camper. Sometimes I get good results, and sometimes I'm not.

But with campers, once you learn how to get around their playing style, they're open to a world of hurting (that I can gladfully inflict depending on the character thats being played) but it is annoying to play against the people, and even worse if they brag about their win cause it annoys me even more. But its the least to say that these people wont last in brawl considering how the game has been growing, and I've learned how to get around the wolf spammers... I've even had a wolf spammer who could reflect me away to try to stop any pressuring that I would bring, but even with that I was able to get past.

But for right now, the spammers are going to dominate cause people haven't developed their skills to fight against spammers, but I think in a few months, spammers will stand no grounds to true players.

You suck at life. What a horrible attitude you have. I'd rather hang out with Shinku than Overswarm or you for that matter.

edit: I'd also rather play friendlies with a weaker player who doesn't play gay, than a great player who only camps. I wouldn't want to ever play you campers unless it were in a tournament.

Mind games beat campers. Fact. You'll take 15% damage on your way to him but when you reach him, he'll take 40. And you will reach him because you play smarter.

wtf are you talking about? its better to be disliked and win than be liked and suck. thats life. no johns.
LOL. Good luck winning when everyone hates you and the entire crowd boos and cheers against you. If you can manage to win with everyone booing you good **** to you, but that's not gonna happen.

If you want to beat campers just pick Game and Watch. It's real simple. He will destroy people who stay in their shields. What does Game and Watch lose to? Aggressive people who pressure and space him. The metagame won't be camping because the metagame is governed by the top tier characters and the top tier characters all **** camping and play aggressively, even in Brawl.

And I make the distinction that camping isn't spacing and waiting for an opponent to mess up from 4 steps away, I too am referring to the Pit player, etc who arrows from across the screen, jabs to get you away and rolls away to repeat and rinse. The former is playing defensive, which I have no problem with and is fun to play against personally.

This is just...dumb.

It's almost as if you're ignoring the fact that your opponent is an actual human being, with sentient awareness and an actual developed strategy that I'm sure wouldn't include "get owned by non-guaranteed 40% combo if he closes proximity".

My point is that if he can indeed use a good strategy to avoid you, and not get owned when you reach them, they aren't just camping, they are being smart and effective players, and must have good spacing and reaction skills. Plus the crowd will be with you not the camper

edrees the problem isnt the standard newbie scrubby camper

it's the camper who also has mindgames and strategy. this person can utilize all the defensive options while camping whereas you attempt to utilize your limited selection of offensive ones, and attempting to get in ++ attacking on the camp isn't viable or effective since both players are intelligent and one has way more options.

if wc hasnt learned this yet...i can't wait til a national tournament to see how they do. lol

I heard camping is a problem in most places, but it doesn't seem like that in MD/VA. We're too gud.

Though G&W Beats a lot of campers, there are tons of ways to beat campers, you just need to find them. Man, if only Kirby could walk while ducking. Fox and Falco's lasers wouldn't hit him :/. lol

hrm, i consider GW a campy character in his own right. its no coincidence that his bair is a turtle. spamming spaced bair is some of the most annoying camping in brawl imo.

I can't believe I read this whole thread.

<_<

You guys all have weird definitions of camping. Maybe I'll post something later.
