May wanna check the ceiling right above your head too, oh and that itchy spot on the back of your neck.Am I the only one who lifted their (bare) feet up off the ground and did a quick 360-degree scan of the floor while looking at the pictures of those spiders?
You know, just to be safe.
Well you see humans have a genetic programed fear to be afraid of spiders, snakes, and hawks. Those three and not something like sharks, type of location though the evolution of man I guess. Spiders, because we didn't want to get stuck in there webs, as if we ate them they were poisonous, snakes because small mammals were a favorite meals of snakes, and hawks because we were easy to pick out of the tree line and light. Most people come over these fears, you don't see many people running away from a parrot in pet smart. We are exposed a good deal more to snakes and hawks than spiders, and we are taught that if we see a spider to kill, not to much with a snake. Most people also are not afarid to hold a snake due to the handler being their to watch over the snake.I don't get it, I'll happily hold a 10 foot python but I'll **** myself at the sight of a spider the the size of this O, what's wrong with me?

Actually happened to me while I was driving.oh and that itchy spot on the back of your neck.
This makes me want to buy a cattle prod.what's funny is, when you sit in the back patio with a cattle prod and zap them

But yah, no need to be scared of spiders. They can't hurt you and most don't bite at all. Daddy Longlegs are the only spiders with venom deadly enough to kill a human, but their fangs are so brittle that they can't even penetrate human skin.

O.O jesus... that's... wowDarkAura, your post reminds me of the time my mom found a spider and sealed it in a tupperware container because she wouldn't let it go until she found out what it was, after a week with no food, water or breathable air my mom decided to get rid of it...
it was still alive.
Well, all spiders have a very slow metabolism which allows it to not eat as often, just like snakes. Spiders have an opened respiratory system which allows it to get air from the surrounding space instead of inhaling it, though I am not quite sure how it was still living maybe I do not know the lid was open the smallest little bit. Spiders appear to drink but don't need large amounts, perhaps condensation on the tubberware. I do not know though I would find it pretty incredible that something like that cold live for so long though.DarkAura, your post reminds me of the time my mom found a spider and sealed it in a tupperware container because she wouldn't let it go until she found out what it was, after a week with no food, water or breathable air my mom decided to get rid of it...

Heh...It kind of looks cute...in a weird twisted way.
