I'm going to Blackbuster to rent a game later tomorrow.. my MAIN focus is to rent Smooth Moves, BUT, if they're out of that, any suggestions of another good game I should rent? (Keep in mind I already have Brawl, Party, and Galaxy)

Zack and Wiki I would not recommend at all. Unless you enjoy being frustrated.
I'd wait for Boom Blox to dip before buying it--and you should, because it's an amazingly fun game, especially in multiplayer (it's beaten out Smash Bros. in my circle two weekends in a row now!). Sales aren't so good right now, so if you wait a few months, you should be good to go.
In the meantime, Battalion Wars II and Nights: Journey of Dreams are pretty cheap on Amazon right now...
Basically, it's the total lack of checkpoints. I'll get to the very end of a level only to be completely stumped by a timed puzzle, fail, then be forced to do the entire level over again just to get another chance to beat my head against a wall at that last puzzle. Can you tell me what makes Zack and Wiki frustrating in your opinion? I'm just curious.
Any of the Bonk games...unless those are 600 points (sorry, I haven't bought anything for my VC since like, August of last year). In which case I recommend any of the Ninja Gaiden games, though I prefer the second game, myself.Currently I have 500 wii points just sitting in my Wii shop channel. Since I cant buy 500 wii points and I already have the internet channel, is there a good game for 500 points that anyone could recommend?
Thnx, any more suggestions?Any of the Bonk games...unless those are 600 points (sorry, I haven't bought anything for my VC since like, August of last year). In which case I recommend any of the Ninja Gaiden games, though I prefer the second game, myself.
Also Lolo's Adventure...Super Mario Bros....Kid Icarus...I think that's it, or at least all I can think of off the top of my head.
MvC2, I say. As...far as "competitive following" goes, I have no idea. I've only played these games on Dreamcast, and as far as I know, none of them have any online play...so you're basically stuck playing with friends (which in my case isn't an issue when it comes to fighting games).Marvel vs Capcom 1 or 2? Is their community like smash in that it can't decide between the new game or the old one?Do both games enjoy a competitive following?
Is Tron Bonne only in 2?
EDIT: Oh and is Spore out yet?
It's awesome, buy it. It's basically regular SimCity, only with that special little Nintendo charm. What are some people's opinions about VC's SimCity for SNES?
As far as adventure games go (Zelda, Metroid, Okami...), I recommend...mantaray said:Any wii games (including vc and gamecube) you could suggest?
Games I've enjoyed:
the Metroid series
Zelda series
Paper Mario games
Tales of symphonia
resident evil 4
okami
mario karts
mario games
Looking for something on the more lengthy/difficult side of things possibly.
Sure you're not thinking of BLACK?GUN was AWFUL. After the initial, "this game is so awesome!" effect wears off, you are left with a boring, repetitive shooter.
RTS games...I've never had a real reason to use this thread but since I'm gearing up to get into PC gaming I need a list of some decent PC games from as far back as 2000, if it's an RTS it can be from any year. I don't expect anyone to make a detailed year by year alphabetically ordered list, just list some of the ones you played and I'll take note of them. Right now I only have Half Life 1 [and I'm loving it] so you can list whatever you think was good.
EDIT: No driving games or simulators please, those don't really catch my interest.
Have you played the Shadow Hearts games (PS2)? Those are great. Also (recently), Wild Arms 5, Odin Sphere/GrimGrimoire, and Radiata Stories.Darkwashu said:A DS game atm,but I might reach for a low priced Wii game,or a good PS2 RPG or something.
I have a copy of Persona 3 FES atm,Odin Sphere is overrated,Wild Arms 5 looks interesting,I only had Wild Arms 4 for like,3 days cause I lost it,but I remember playing it for a long time...RTS games...
Total Annihilation (1997)
Supreme Commander (2007)
Personally, those are the only two RTS games I've ever kept on my PC for more than a month, they're amazingly good games. But aside from them, there's also...
Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War (2004)
Homeworld 2 (2003)
Civilization III (2001)
Note that DoW has at least one expansion pack (maybe more, I don't really know). So between all those, you'll be busy for quite a while.
The only other game I'll recommend is System Shock 2. It's one of the most amazing games I've ever played. It's getting on in years, but if you can find it, it's definitely worth playing.

I would stay faraway from Soul Nomad if I were you. Go with Persona 3: FES instead.
Okay, OS isn't perfect...but it's one of the best looking games I've ever played, right up there with Windwaker, Okami, and Valkyria Chronicles. But I put alot of stock in that, so whatever.I have a copy of Persona 3 FES atm,Odin Sphere is overrated,Wild Arms 5 looks interesting,I only had Wild Arms 4 for like,3 days cause I lost it,but I remember playing it for a long time...
@Sensai,FF3 has a broken job system <__<...
But,what makes it so different than the GBA version?
Why is Wild Arms 5 so good o.o?Okay, OS isn't perfect...but it's one of the best looking games I've ever played, right up there with Windwaker, Okami, and Valkyria Chronicles. But I put alot of stock in that, so whatever.
If you enjoyed WA4 at all, then definitely get WA5--it's ten times the game the wreck that is WA4 was. WA1 and 2 were awesome, but 3 and 4 had me doubting...but 5 kicks the crap out of all of them.
Besides 3D graphics, a completely re-written script, and voice acting...there's not much different in FFIV DS from FFIV GBA. There's also some crappy online function...I don't know, trading items or something equally useless. I'm buying it, but then, I haven't played FFIV outside of like, twelve minutes on anemulator.illegal
Ehh, it's a combination of a bunch of little things. Basically the presentation is much better (the world's more believeable, the characters actually emote, the music is MUCH better, etc. etc.), and it actually feels like a Wild ARMs game. If it weren't for the title of the game, I wouldn't have thought that WA4 actually took place in a pseudo-Wild West setting. Why is Wild Arms 5 so good o.o?
Hey, I liked Grandia 3. The story sucked, but it's still got the best darn battle system in RPG history! It better not be the mess Grandia 3 was <_<
Yup. But if you have a PS2, take my advice and get it on that. The Wii version really isn't as good. The brush controls aren't as "fluid" on PS2, but they're much more responsive and playable.Do I need a nunchuck for Okami?
Correction: what you've heard is that the Wii version has "clearer" or "sharper" graphics. See, the PS2 version has this filter applied to it that makes it seem as though everything on screen is rendered on a sheet of rice paper, which makes sense, as the game mimics traditional Japanese paintings.I heard Okami on the wii has better graphics, which is need for Okami whichis all about its art.
Like I said, the brush controls (normal movement and combat controls are fine in both versions) in the Wii version are smoother, but, for instance, it's much easier and faster to draw Cuts in the PS2 version. A number of enemies in the game are best dealt with by damaging them, then quickly cutting them with your brush.Personally, I woulda preferred the rice paper style, but I'm one of the 3 people left who doesn't own a PS2, and thus, I got it on the Wii.
But, from what I heard, the controls are actually better on the Wii. I dunno what you heard though, Chief Mendez.
I have the DS remake & so far:It's awesome!!Final Fantasy 4 = Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. The ONLY Final Fantasy I have ever beaten to the end!
I can't WAIT until the remake!!
As far as RPGs go, at the moment, defying all expectations, the 360 has that genre pegged. Can someone suggest some good games for both the 360 and PS3 for me, either upcoming (relatively soon) or already released? I'm conflicted over which system to buy and ultimately, the selection of games is going to be one of the biggest deciding factors.
I like a lot of adventure, action, and RPG games. I'm not a huge fan of FPSs but I have found some that I like, such as the Tom Clancy games and Call of Duty/Medal of Honor. If anyone can suggest some shooters that are more creative and out of the box, I'd be interested in hearing those.
Depends on what you're looking for.does anyone know of any decent games coming to the wii within the next year?
the only game that has grabbed my attention is the new tales of symphonia installment...
once again nintendo has failed to release a consistant flow of decent games, tisk tisk
