I'm going to Blackbuster to rent a game later tomorrow.. my MAIN focus is to rent Smooth Moves, BUT, if they're out of that, any suggestions of another good game I should rent? (Keep in mind I already have Brawl, Party, and Galaxy)

Boom Blox is the best experience I have had on the Wii. Get it and really enjoy yourself.
Zack and Wiki I would not recommend at all. Unless you enjoy being frustrated.
I'd wait for Boom Blox to dip before buying it--and you should, because it's an amazingly fun game, especially in multiplayer (it's beaten out Smash Bros. in my circle two weekends in a row now!). Sales aren't so good right now, so if you wait a few months, you should be good to go.
In the meantime, Battalion Wars II and Nights: Journey of Dreams are pretty cheap on Amazon right now...
Sweet! I'll definetely wait on boom blox then. Something tells me that everyone's waiting for the price to drop as well. I know that Steven Speilberg's name = $, but still doesn't gurantee sales.

Basically, it's the total lack of checkpoints. I'll get to the very end of a level only to be completely stumped by a timed puzzle, fail, then be forced to do the entire level over again just to get another chance to beat my head against a wall at that last puzzle.
And, as is the case with alot of recent adventure games (Hotel Dusk, Phoenix Wright, etc.), alot of the puzzles are ridiculously obscure.
It's a fine game, and if you find it for 20$ or something, go for it. But there are way better choices out there (like Boom Blox, for example).

Any of the Bonk games...unless those are 600 points (sorry, I haven't bought anything for my VC since like, August of last year). In which case I recommend any of the Ninja Gaiden games, though I prefer the second game, myself.
Also Lolo's Adventure...Super Mario Bros....Kid Icarus...I think that's it, or at least all I can think of off the top of my head.

MvC2, I say. As...far as "competitive following" goes, I have no idea. I've only played these games on Dreamcast, and as far as I know, none of them have any online play...so you're basically stuck playing with friends (which in my case isn't an issue when it comes to fighting games).
Anyway, as far as the community's support, it's generally accepted that MvC1 is more "hardcore", and MvC2 is a more simplified version of the same system, meant to attract some new blood...sort of like the Melee and Brawl thing, actually. But anyway, like I said, I think #2 is a better game overall.
Tron Bonne is in the second one, and she might be in the first one (but I'm not sure).
Spore's not out yet, but you can download (for $10) the creature maker portion of the game. It's scheduled to release on September 7th, or around that time, I think.

It's awesome, buy it. It's basically regular SimCity, only with that special little Nintendo charm.
As far as adventure games go (Zelda, Metroid, Okami...), I recommend...mantaray said:

RPGs are a bit harder to come by. If you haven't tried the Fire Emblem games yet, do so. Other than that, I recommend Skies of Arcadia (GameCube), and maybe Baten Kaitos and it's sequel, (both GameCube) though they're not exactly typical RPGs.
As for racers, definitely F-ZERO GX (GameCube). You might like Kirby Air Ride, but it seems I'm about the only person on the planet who enjoyed the game even slightly...
And finally, if you want hard games...Alien Hominid, Viewtiful Joe, and Wario World on GameCube, and Trauma Center (Second Opinion and New Blood) and Zack & Wiki on Wii.
Hopefully that helps. Just check them out on Wikipedia and maybe Metacritic before you decide whether or not to pick any of them up.

GUN was AWFUL. After the initial, "this game is so awesome!" effect wears off, you are left with a boring, repetitive shooter.

Sure you're not thinking of BLACK?
GUN is the "if Grand Theft Auto were set in the Wild West, and had a fun combat system" game.
BLACK is the PS2 game that has like, three enemy types and five guns, yet somehow is described as being "gun porn".
A DS game atm,but I might reach for a low priced Wii game,or a good PS2 RPG or something.

I've never had a real reason to use this thread but since I'm gearing up to get into PC gaming I need a list of some decent PC games from as far back as 2000, if it's an RTS it can be from any year. I don't expect anyone to make a detailed year by year alphabetically ordered list, just list some of the ones you played and I'll take note of them. Right now I only have Half Life 1 [and I'm loving it] so you can list whatever you think was good.

Personally, those are the only two RTS games I've ever kept on my PC for more than a month, they're amazingly good games. But aside from them, there's also...
Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War (2004)
Homeworld 2 (2003)
Civilization III (2001)
Note that DoW has at least one expansion pack (maybe more, I don't really know). So between all those, you'll be busy for quite a while.
The only other game I'll recommend is System Shock 2. It's one of the most amazing games I've ever played. It's getting on in years, but if you can find it, it's definitely worth playing.
Have you played the Shadow Hearts games (PS2)? Those are great. Also (recently), Wild Arms 5, Odin Sphere/GrimGrimoire, and Radiata Stories.Darkwashu said:

@ Darkwashu: I'd HIGHLY recommend Zack and Wiki for the Wii. It's only 10 bucks (and then a little off) at Toys R Us, and it's an amazingly good puzzle game. Other than that, Okami's good, as is Twilight Princess and Super Paper Mario.
I'd also recommend FF3 and FF4 for the DS. 3 is AMAZINGLY difficult towards the end (there are 5 or more big boss fights stringed together, no healing, no saving), and 4 is apparently being called the 'definitive' edition for FF4.
@ Red Exodus: I would HIGHLY recommend The Orange Box. Includes Portal, Team Fortress 2, Half Life 2, and HL2 Episodes 1 and 2. It's only 40 dollars on Steam and for that price, it's a steal. The first 2 episodes and HL2 end up being about 40$...the same price as the Orange Box.)

Ehh, it's a combination of a bunch of little things. Basically the presentation is much better (the world's more believeable, the characters actually emote, the music is MUCH better, etc. etc.), and it actually feels like a Wild ARMs game. If it weren't for the title of the game, I wouldn't have thought that WA4 actually took place in a pseudo-Wild West setting.
Hey, I liked Grandia 3. The story sucked, but it's still got the best darn battle system in RPG history!
Yup. But if you have a PS2, take my advice and get it on that. The Wii version really isn't as good. The brush controls aren't as "fluid" on PS2, but they're much more responsive and playable.

Correction: what you've heard is that the Wii version has "clearer" or "sharper" graphics. See, the PS2 version has this filter applied to it that makes it seem as though everything on screen is rendered on a sheet of rice paper, which makes sense, as the game mimics traditional Japanese paintings.
The Wii version completely removed this, making the game look like a regular cel-shaded game.
...But I've heard the paper-filter hurts certain people's eyes, so whatever. Personally I love the effect, and the gameplay advantages should make your decision for you, but, as long as you play the game, it really doesn't matter, I suppose.

Personally, I woulda preferred the rice paper style, but I'm one of the 3 people left who doesn't own a PS2, and thus, I got it on the Wii.

Like I said, the brush controls (normal movement and combat controls are fine in both versions) in the Wii version are smoother, but, for instance, it's much easier and faster to draw Cuts in the PS2 version. A number of enemies in the game are best dealt with by damaging them, then quickly cutting them with your brush.
...I could never do this reliably in the Wii version. It's not just that, either. If the Wiimote picks up extra light or some minor malfunction occurs with your sensor bar, plus the natural shake of your hands...it's just not as solid as the PS2 controls.
I own the game on both systems, so It's not like I'm just parroting what I read in a review or something.
Anyways, I don't mean any offense to anyone with this--the important thing here is that as many people play Okami as possible, because it's one of the best adventure games of the decade. I personally find it more enjoyable than Twilight Princess, even.

Can someone suggest some good games for both the 360 and PS3 for me, either upcoming (relatively soon) or already released? I'm conflicted over which system to buy and ultimately, the selection of games is going to be one of the biggest deciding factors.
I like a lot of adventure, action, and RPG games. I'm not a huge fan of FPSs but I have found some that I like, such as the Tom Clancy games and Call of Duty/Medal of Honor. If anyone can suggest some shooters that are more creative and out of the box, I'd be interested in hearing those.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

As far as RPGs go, at the moment, defying all expectations, the 360 has that genre pegged.
Blue Dragon, Enchanted Arms, Eternal Sonata, Fable 2, Fallout 3, FF XIII, Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, Infinite Undiscovery, Tales of Vesperia, Star Ocean, Oblivion, and The Last Remnant are all (well, the ones that are already out) great games. I think one or two of them are cross-platform, but aside from that, they're all 360 exclusives.
On PS3, the pickings are a bit slimmer. Disgaea 3, Versus XIII, Valkyria Chronicles, White Knight Story, and Folklore are the big name games that are PS3 exclusives. Personally the only one on that list I'd be willing to buy a PS3 for is Disgaea, but I'm probably an exception.
So that covers RPGs.
Now, action/adventure titles...
360: Bayonetta, Army of Two, Crackdown, Guilty Gear 2 Overture, both Condemned games, Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts, Ninja Gaiden 2, Dead Rising, Ninety-Nine Nights, Naruto: Rise of a Ninja, Rage, Saints Row 2 (the first one was...just okay), Tenchu Z, and Vampire Rain.
PS3: DMC4, MGS4, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Viking, Ratchet & Clank Future, and of course, GTA4...though that's on both, and better on 360 anyhoo.
Really, when it comes down to it, at this time the 360 has better software. Across the board, it's generally the better buy, unless you're looking into an HD setup, since Blu-Ray's the winner of the format war now.
I think the PS3 has alot more potential, but it's just not there yet. And I don't know if it ever will be.

Yeah, as it has been said the PS3 is running on a lot of future potential. I mean, I'd like to give MGS a try and I like Ratchet, but other than those few games I'm leaning more towards the 360, especially with the information you gave me.
