I'm pretty sure top players would have no problem with autographing your controllers for donations. Sounds like a solid idea.

I was actually suggesting Armada donate one of his actual controllers if he was willing since that means a bit more. It's really up to the players and what they decide though.

I'm waiting for another major stream. I'll throw $20 when it happens because I like bulk donations.

I'll also advertise the stream/donation link on my steam group with 8500+ members at the beginning of said stream.
Awesome, we'll see when the next stream is squared away!

Yeah Im up for it!
How to send the controller is something we can discuss. And yeah it is the Apex 2013 controller I can give (I don't have any of my other old controllers left basically). A friend (not on purpose) took my controller at Beast 2. I can ask him if he has that one left cause then we have the Gensis 2 controller too =)

I don't know what the price would/should be but Im for donating those.

Between their current 21K and the donation matches that skullgirls might be sitting on, I don't think we should be throwing 25K around as if it's our goal... We're going to need even more than that if we want to be safe from a snipe.

I love the Mango/Hbox/PP beard incentive, but I feel like maybe we should set the bar a little higher.

No

Don't do this

Keep your controller, if only for the memories

[also: you're going to need it in a couple months]

Don't throw numbers around, just donate period. It all goes to a good cause. If we need incentives to make donations happen, they should and will be made up as we go along.

Let's make the magic happen.

25k is just a goal that's within reach right now. If we put a goal that's too high, we could have less donators.

What I was thinking is, the person who donates the greatest amount will receive the controller. It's not too hard to forward the payment confirmation to see if you've donated the most money.

(LMAOAOA )

suggestions

nothing TOO crazy

unless ur down to throw down some c@$h
If you make or promise to make a Rapex3 video I will donate 20 bucks.

If Armada says **** retirement I will also donate 20 bucks.

One of those things is probably much more realistic than the other haha

Easily the greatest idea so far.

:phone:
And the Swedish smashers are up for doing it!

TheCrimsonBlur: I have my trophy's so that's more then enough for me as a memory =)
Yeah a controller to play friends with sometimes is good to have. But then I just buy a new one or something.

I think that having a variety of high/top level players offer lessons / coaching could be a great incentive, in addition to raffling off signed items. Pretty sure the SDA AGDQ marathon raised well over 100k using raffles (and their 24/7 stream of course).

Funny thing is I can't tell which one is less likely to happen :p

They also had a lot of amazing speedruns to keep people viewing. Merely having people on a Skype chat talking about tons of awesome things doesn't necessarily keep people viewing to donate (except for of course, us). So it's kind of hard to say just having the raffles was the key to AGDQ's success (it was part of it but not the whole).

This. They have definitely shown how to make players keep on giving and get something out of it besides the donation benefits themselves. Though they raised well over 100k. Their past event raised close to 450k

Anyone think we could put together a long stream of high level players critiquing matches? I think we have enough high level players from enough timezones to get something continuous going over the course of several days.

I think the key to getting more viewers on the stream is to have a bunch of high level play being continuously streamed. Whether it's live matches or pros critiquing videos. Since getting together pros on such short notice would be difficult, I think a good idea would be to get a bunch of pros on the stream, and start showing hype matches from the old days of MLG up through this last Apex.

For the match critique thing, we can dedicate character specialists and assign them a timeslot. Then people can submit their videos for review along with a donation. The higher the donation, the more ahead in line it is compared to other submissions.

So for instance PP can be assigned 6-7pm on Monday, then m2k from 7-8pm. Something like that. There's no reason it has to be top top players either. Like let's say someone submits a video for PP's timeslot and there isn't enough time to get to it. Maybe another Falco player later on in the stream will be able to get to it, or that person can up their donation to give their video more priority. I hope this makes sense lol

This is really a great idea! $5 could buy a critique of one match or something like that, $10 for a whole set. If something like this could get up and running I'm sure plenty of people would wanna chip in and they'd get some good tips in return.

I want in on this shiz. I could build a customized controller for the pros to sign, to be given to the highest bidder.

if you guys dont know already, there is a google doc (lead by Scar) with all of the ideas we gathered up last night.

http://tinyurl.com/ssbmoneunit

all of these ideas are sick, but as scar pointed out, they mean NOTHING if we cant get it out to as many people as possible. That means all of those friends you play with on the regular that dont go to tournaments, or your family who might be interested in donating for breast cancer research, or perhaps flyers around your school.

more eyes on us = more possible chances for donations.

prog and i are working on creating videos to help spread the news and update everyone on whats going on for those who are out of the loop.

spread this ****!

organizing to one hub is probably the most important aspect of getting the word out.

scars podcast (http://www.twitch.com/bobby_scar) is what im thinking of being the central "HQ" for this drive right now.

as well as the FB page https://www.facebook.com/groups/317678078333267/
