Normally, I'm not one who changes his opinion that quickly...

But WOW. Just...wow.

After seeing it in action, it's like the fact that Din's Fire is still as slow doesn't mean nearly as much (if anything at all).

yeah dude pretty crazy but those combos were definitely set ups, setting air mines like that won't work on anyone who knows that DI exists. Unless there's a mechanic that makes the fire un-DI able like shine, and din's fires simply shoot in the direction of any other active din's fires. something like two din's fires to cover edge options and one din's fire behind you and you stand in between and that's a free up smash or down smash or whatever setup. it's like infinite too, get them off stage once and it's smash -> off stage -> fire -> smash -> offstage chain.

but idk i don't play zelda so that **** was all probably wrong

Ryoko knows how to Di and he was also being caught in those din's fire combos. Although that was wifi sooo yeah.

wifi = terrible.

Don't judge gameplay off wifi please.
I know wifi is terrible, but it doesn't really affect slow characters and both Ryoko and Zhime were playing non technical characters. It wouldn't affect Di as much. So, my point is the setups aren't just gimmicky and can be used in tangent with her other moves effectively, if used properly.

Never!!! I'll take it to my grave!!! Anyway, i would like to hear other pros opinions on the game like Hax and Sfat etc. Since they looked like they were doing fairly decent in the brackets.

Well, I talked to Axe, Vanz, and Mang0 quite a bit about PM at FC, and all of them said pretty much the same thing: "PM's a lot of fun, I really like it!" lol

i don't think P:M is that good.

it's galaxies above brawl, though. it's fun to play, but it's no melee. yes, i know it's not trying to be a carbon copy of melee, but it's still not as good as melee.

don't get me wrong; i don't have anything AGAINST it, exactly. i like the philosophy behind it and the potential it has, but i just don't think it's nearly as amazing as melee is in its current form.

I'm not surprised. Falcon feels kind've gross in PM. :/
I bet one of the reason his is ******** Brawl SFX and that stupid scarf. Someone seriously needs to make a better texture. That scarfless texture doesn't work when i use it. An the sfx i can't seem to remove those silly sfx from him.

Picked up PM awhile back, and find I'm playing it more than both melee and brawl. although this might be because I have no one to play against... and the PM computers give... almost a challenge.

Love ness, always have, always will: optional DJC is epic, lets him do much more all around the stage, return of SSB dair makes him a threat, cancelling PK fire is also very helpful. only a couple things to say. there are multiple things odd about PK fire. Even after activation, each burst can be power shielded, absorbed or reflected, so basically if they are caught, they can spam shield to disable the PK fire, and prevent ness from approaching. also against ness/lucas, they can heal 20+% by jumping into it, and just roll or jump cancel their shields. also G&W can get a full bucket off of it... gonna kill that matchup lol. finally, d-throw over PK fire will often kick them out of the grab, allowing them to do pretty much anything while Ness is stuck in grab release.

I know PK fire is probably one of the best projectiles in the game now... but should it really have so many ways to backfire on ness? only one that does it iirc.

Could someone direct me to a thread where I ask download questions about project M, or is there not one?

Has any Ike won a sizable PM tourney yet? I feel like even with all the hype and "brokenness" other characters still always end up winning it all.

I still don't see how people think that Ike himself is broken as opposed to him simply being easy to use. I feel that he is no different than Sheik in terms of strengths and weaknesses (in that the strengths are easily usable and the weaknesses seem difficult to exploit but in reality are pretty easy for many characters).

So many characters can beat go even with him or beat him, im tired of hearing hes broke. When the meta game evolves people wont complain as much .

The Z-formation din bouncer works offline and online and you can DI to avoid the dins, but if you get thrown into them...

It's funny how ignoring all the reasons to play P:M leaves you no reasons to play P:M.

Characters? Psh. Who plays'em.
Stages? Hate them.
Balance? If I wanted a good character I'd pick a top tier, duh.
Innovative and unique movesets? Nah. If it wasn't made in 2001, it clearly doesn't belong in a Smash title. Duh.

lol i dont mm people in this game. but its like all these new characters dont feel like smash. when i see a char like ike or lucario i just smh. way to complicated to be smash. part of the reason i think i like i like this game that we are always slowly finding these techniques and strategies. Working with the simplicity of smash. instead of building them. way to many gimmicks.

but thats just me, fox doesnt feel right so i cant use him, then shields also dont work right.

The difference about Project M and Melee to me is that Project M makes me not feel like i wasted money on my Brawl Disc(Or buying a Wii for that matter). Some of the glitches in Project M are a HUGE turn off. The most noticable is the CC instant death glitch. An the second are shields. Fox, Falco, and a lot of other characters were very good in Melee because they could jump into your shield and have a dance party in there without it being crashed by shield pushback. Can the backroom explain why Fox isn't able to get the full momentum to waveshine to grab characters like Marth anymore? It is the delay or is momentum not 100% fixed.

As for Ike and Lucario i personally love those characters and everyone else the PMBR made(Ike could use a nerf on that wall jump recovery though). Heck, i think the only thing they need to do to buff Game and Watch is make it so his forward B isn't random so you can know when the number 9 is coming i guess they can nerf it a bit with this little tweak.

Again, if I wanted to play Melee, I'd just pop it in. And I also completely agree with PGH Carroll; it just doesn't feel like Smash to me. :l

...It really makes you wonder why it was released as DEMO 2.1 then, huh?

Also it sounds like someone doesn't feel like learning some new MUs :p

It only takes you 15 minutes to master a character and learn how to counter other characters?!? You must be amazing!

However I disagree, certainly some characters aren't in melee so they don't feel the same. But that is because we are so used to using like 9 characters in melee that all feel the same in PM, obvs if there is 15 other characters you should expect a wide variation in the feel of characters. If there wasn't then the game would be loosing so much of its potential.

random august 2012 join date acting like he knows anything and dissing project m for terrible reasons?

sounds like ignore list material

so the mechanics that make fox/falco/peach fun, interesting, unique and good "feel like smash" but ike can't have a jump cancel without it being a "gimmick"? had project m been released in 2008 as "super smash bros. brawl" no one would be saying this ****, they'd be talking about how amazing and cool ike is. get your head out of your *** buddy.
