I can't believe how no one thinks ZSS is hard @_@ There's so much to learn like how to control her recovery abilities, what to do with suit pieces, how to combo and getting the kill. Most people will probably be like "lulz sideb" but there's so much more to her than that @_@
What I do with ZSS' armor pieces is: 1. grab one.
2. Jump, Z-drop it, do an aerial. Combos!

Probably a habit from playing Toon Link >_>

Also what I do with ZSS: Use fsmash too much
Use Upsmash too much
Do random things and die

kirby because most the time im trying to suck up people while everyone else beats the **** out of me
XD

I think Captain Falcon does take (at least some) skill to learn. When I first learned him in like, August, or something, I kept suiciding because he's so fast and his recovery was so weird, in comparison to Kirby because wifi is terrible.

And to WIN with Captain Falcon takes definite skill.

Why so many Links and Pits? Here's why they should be easy:

Link: Again, spammable projectiles and range. He has priority and power, two other things that lessen the learning curve. And while he is slow and has poor recovery, that can't be fixed.
Show me one pro Link that does nothing but spam.

No particular order

Captain Falcon(yes, it does take skill)
Link(So many set ups)
Snake(Oh how I despise good Snake mains)
Pit(It just takes certain skills to use him)
Ice Climbers(Learning the CG takes skill and when you do...it's on like DONKEY KONG)
He's got virtually none.

What about zero suit samus? Nobody mentions her, yet she seems to me like she would be difficult to master

If you read the full thread, she's been mentioned several times.

I agree. And the same goes for link.
Link's not a spammy character. "LOL YES HE IS" <----beginner's answer. TLink specializes in spam. Link specializes in spacing. And it's hard. If he were easy, he'd be tourney viable and his recovery wouldn't totally suck.

It's hard to give a right answer with so many opnions flying around. Most people believe it is characters that don't have a lot of hype around them, some people believe the opposite.
I say constapated Gannon.

If he wasn't so constapated then he actually would have been over powered xD

From my experiance:

1. Mario - Fludd and cape requires skill to use properly.
2. PT - Using 3 pokemon with completley different movesets, and do less damage after being out for a while: that's a lot to ask for a 3-in-1.
3. Yoshi - You really have to be careful cause of Yoshi's lack of a third jump even though Up-b gives a bit of a lift
4. Captian Falcon- Tier-wise worst character in Brawl, requires lots of skill to beat pro high-tier players. In fact like Asdioh said, requires definite skill.
5. Ness - PK Thunder is like it's own character: you control it, but unlike the proper characters you need to be good with it in lag to be a winner.

Remember that this is from my persnoal experiances only, and the fact that I'm basicly a low-tier player.

And before you say anything yes I did use the word "skill" a lot.

Here's my list:

1. Olimar: Without his little animal thingies, he's basically useless.
2. Zelda: Have you tried recovering with her? O_o
3. DK: Same reason as Zelda.
4. Jigglypuff: Because when you poke it, it flys away.
5. Yoshi: No recovery. And if you acciedentally do the egg roll of a cliff, you're dead.

No. Now why not post something useful? :psycho: Lol
I already posted something "useful".
Heck, I'll post some more "useful" things right now!

Here's my list:

1. Olimar: Without his little animal thingies, he's basically useless.
2. Zelda: Have you tried recovering with her? O_o
3. DK: Same reason as Zelda.

'No comprendo' this reasoning.

1. Wtf, just pull out more pikmin. Not that hard, just press B.
2. Zelda's recovery is pretty freakin good.
3. DK has good horizontal recovery.
4. Yes, jigglypuff is a balloon. Uhm.. yeah, so? It flys away?
5. Egg roll off a cliff. lol.

Edit: I hope you don't take offense at this post.

Perhaps you forgot what the name of the topic is?

"What 5 characters take the most skill?"

1. Yes, but he's pretty vunerable in the process.
2. Yes, but it is hard to use unless you have a lot of practice.
3. Yes, but what about verticle?
4. Light = easy kills.
5. Yes. Egg roll. Lol.

okay, here we go again.

1. Not true. It takes less than a second for olimar to pull out all 6 pikmin. Also, you can cancel the first pull into a attack. Lastly, you don't have to pull all 6 at once.
2. upB + direction, I don't see what's so hard about that.
3. DK has jumps for vertical recovery. Yes, DK's recovery isn't great, but that doesn't mean he takes more tech skill to use.
4. There are lighter people than jiggz.

1. A second is enough for a quick smash attack you know.
2. Still pretty hard. You need to have the right direction. There is quite a fine line between North North West and North West. Especially since the controller has indent things on the D-pad.
3. Hmm... Well... I can see your point on that one. Sort of. He's still pretty hard though, even though he has quite a few good attacks up his sleeve. (When he wears a Tee-Shirt  )
4. Really? Can you name who, please?
5. I have nothing to say to that. Lol

1. Why would you pull out pikmin if you're right next to the opponent? Move away first, duh.
2. The distance makes up for precision. Also, I'm pretty sure most players can use Zelda's recovery well.
3. DK has a whole arsenal of good attacks, what are you talking about?
4. Okay sorry, you were right on that one. :| G&W is just a bit heavier than jiggz, I thought he was the lightest. MY MISTAKE.

1. On a small level it might be hard to get away. (Think Final Destination)
2. Yeah, but if you stuff it up, you just fall to your death. Lol
3. Well... The wind up punch thing is alright... It takes a little long to execute though. But other than that, his attacks (as I said before) are not bad.
4. No problem. :)
5. -

Edit: Just saw your edited post. Don't worry. I just enjoy a good discussion. :D

1. Either way, why would you have no pikmin in the first place?
2. That happens with basically every other upB.

1. Because they all died?
2. The point I'm making is that it is hard to position your self to grab the ledge.

1) Marth- space space space!

2) Olimar- Keep your pikmin alive!! I wonder if pro Olimars actually pay attention to the color of their pikmin and act accordingly.

3) (Toon) Link- Master the projectiles

4) Zero suit samus- Spacing and SH aerials. She's weak...but her combos are endless (figure of speech).

5) Sonic- Get used to the speed. hez T00 F4st!11! H4X!11!! But seriously, character control is hard...

1. Honestly, pikmin pluck is such a fast and lagless move that you can easily keep a good number of pikmin behind you at all times. I don't think the periodic pulling of pikmin is what makes olimar hard.
2. It's still doable and easily repeatable.

Here's mine:

- Ice Climbers
- Peach
- Pokemon Trainer
- Diddy Kong
- Sonic

At least no one mentionned Mr. Game and Watch because a drunken monkey could play a good G&W.

I think a good general rule of thumb is that lower tiers take more skill and higher takes less. With certain exceptions ofcourse.

Why??? Just because they're a bad character doesn't mean they take a lot of skill. It just means that you won't do as well.

No particular order:
Ness
ZSS
Jiggly
Peachy
Ice Climbers
Finally someone says ZSS. But why ness and not lucas?

Because with Lucas a lucky upsmash at about 80% will K.O. anyone.
his hit box is massive so it being "lucky" isn't really lucky lol.
