If it's true that Darkrain is playing on the south team (which i read sometime ago on the midwest's thread)
they were also talking about how M2K apparently moved to Ohio or something and will be playing for them?

Thats true, although they might be doing crews after singles brackets and stuff so he might be able to prove himself there.

Yea, I think if given the chance he could beat a few of those contenders.
Aright well I have to do this so I'm doing it. I want a spot on the crew. I expect a lot of hate but I'll take it.
First off, pretty much everyone hasn't played me recently. I've been playing Mango a lot and although everyone likes to say this, I have improved exponentially, even within the last few weeks. Mango himself said he has considered putting me on the crew.
I don't have a lot of time to organize my thoughts (hw johns), so my points may seem randomly placed.. just bear with me.
Basically, as Sheik I have either a good advantage or a neutral one on any given matchup. I cover any bad matchups the rest of the crew fails to cover. Luigi/Ganon/Samus/Puff I will ****, Marth/Peach/Falcon I will go even with at worst and most likely win, and Sheik is my favorite matchup.
My worst matchups are technical, campy foxes, or technical, campy falcos, but if they aren't I do pretty well the first time I play them (which is all that matters in crews). Even the super aggressive ones will get slowed down the first time they play me. The more I play someone the better they start to do against me, but until they figure out my style they will have a ton of trouble. Even Zhu, who probably knows how I play better than anyone else, has trouble against me if he hasn't played me for more than a week. So even if they counterpick a space animal it won't be a huge advantage (not to mention sheik has no bad matchups).
I also play really patient and campy and I'm not reckless (think DSF sheik), and i'm good at not getting hit if i need to so I can preserve stocks well.
People I would counter better than other candidates include Pakman, Linguini/Rockcrock/Chaddd (ganon is effectively neutralized with sheik, probably their biggest threat as we have no ganon experience, not to mention we don't have 3 people who "counter" ganon but i loove to cg and play gay all day), drephen/reno/tope (east coast hates cg, drephen is slow and not technical), any peach (vwins, wife, xif, xelic, who else is a good counter to peach on our crew? much less more), any marth like QDVS, HBK (sheik never dies against marth and i didnt do too bad against M2k on yoshi's and i've only gotten better since then... also no other marth is as good on FD as he is against sheik), Bottom Line is a Sheik can take care of any bad matchup our crew has. I'm really consistent, arguably the most consistent in socal under Lucky (Lovage being the other one if you don't count last week) and have no weakness against weird matchups (and can take care of other characters we aren't used to).
I believe crews are more of a matter of who counters who, rather than who is better overall, so in summary a sheik is a very crucial addition to any crew. Also people will underestimate me a lot.
Now I want WC to win more than I want to be on the crew, so I have to say that the only part of my game I don't know about is how well I would do under pressure of crews. But I also think that any other candidate would have the exact same chance of choking, and inevitably someone WILL choke at any given time, on any given crew, it WILL happen.
I told Mango, If I'm not on the crew I don't mind, I didn't consider being on the crew until yesterday but if I have a shot i'm going to take it. If anything I can just play against the south, although EC is gimped so I'm not afraid of playing them either, and midwest mostly sucks.
I took the following lists from earlier in the thread. Pretty sure everyone would agree that these two regions are our biggest threats.

Their counters would be shiz, chops, colbol, and caveman. caveman is not that fast/technical, oh yeah if they arent technical they become SUPER easy, slow foxes are the easiest to **** for sheik. colbol i believe will have trouble against me if we assume that him and joey are of similar level, and joey has a lot of experience against me (and i do very well vs him, ask mango), and also the south has virtually no good sheik practice. So Shiz and chops are the only ones left, if shiz is put in they use up their best player against our weakest and he gets countered, chops is probably the best choice but i have a lot of GOOD falco practice (thanks zhu/mango). on the other hand, anyone who isnt those 4 are bad choices and will lose more stocks than they should've. I am good against everyone else except possibly darkrain, but i still have a heavy matchup favor for that, i doubt they would even use him to take me out (similar to shiz). Most likely I will be put in to counter rockrock or linguini, a clear, easy counterpick. No I have not played top calibur ganons, but i also have had no trouble whatsoever beating every other ganon i've ever played. I also plan to MM every one of these players if that means anything.

Two foxes can counter me here. I don't know who Cyrain is though. But nobody has to worry about DJN or Pakman, I would love to play tope, scar/hax/darc favor my character. The other ones (m2k/jman/cactus) are their best, again they use up their heavy hitters and get counterpicked. I'd laugh if they had to send in cactus to take me out.
I have been practicing all matchups (against Mango too) so I really have no glaring weak points. Lunin or Eggz on the other hand can be easily countered with a peach.
I think Zhu would also back me and Mango up on this decision, as well as Lucky.
