From what I've seen Sonic can be pretty tough. Did this particular one suck or something?

Dude, it's Anther. You know, the Anther? There can be two reasons for losing, though there might be more.

1. The person using that particular character was more skilled than the person brawling with him.
2. The person who lost doesn't have enough match-ups against that particular character.

Sonic can feint, which can throw you off-guard if you've never had enough experience against Sonic. Then again, Sonic players like quik2288 are just flat out crazy and difficult to keep up with.

Hey everyone! ^^ sorrry I just got to posting now, I'm way tired though lol
The tournament was REALLY fun :D N00b, J4pu, it was really nice meeting you both
(lol J4pu it totally came to a shock to me btw that you don't play samus lol I see you on the char. specific all the time )
and of course Xyro, it was just TOO MUCH fun playing and meeting you ^^ You are a very kwl person and I'm glad I got to meet you and glad you had fun here! :D

XP anyways as a summary I guess... for pools I ended up getting in a bracket with Fly Amanita, Jellyfish, HyugaRicdeau, and WALL-E....
I won most of my games except for fly amanita lol, his ice climbers **** hard @.@ lol somehow I thought it'd be easier to avoid that grab lol , you know its scary when he comes at you with alternating desynched blizzards (T.T) so I ended up in second for that pool behind him... I think he ended up in top ten overall too.... he was really fun to play though :D
for brackets I ended up seeded against DSF (MK) for the first round.... I didn't win of course >.< lol I actually did pretty good though, I got him down to 1 or 2 stock I think both games.... but yea, his mk is definitely **** ... 2nd round I went against Raretruffle (a zss) who I ended up winning against, and then my last round i got knocked out by Eros (snake)
I'm pretty sure Xyro ended up losing to QTP and Ajax in brackets and won against skank....
BTW he did REALLY good in his pool, I'm pretty sure he didn't lose any of the pool games! (choicebrawler, and z are the two i remember/knew in his pool) congrats xyro! (and he was scared he wouldn't do as well in pools at first lol)

and we dittoed a lot of times ^^ he won the majority on the first day, but on the second day I won most of our dittoes, he won a couple more overall though I think It was really fun taking tips from each others play styles too! :D by the end our games were so back and forth and were very intense! :D
I wish I recorded some of them but I couldn't tag recording equipment for that day
Xyro has a good samus! :D we both got a lot of talk about samus going at the tourney which was... very cute lol!

Tudor I missed you being there , tell zeta I wanted to see him too! I think IRL and AD were a little bummed that they missed him as well.... you owe me a tourney lol :D

actually In my experience the carter, sonic can actually be a REALLY hard matchup for samus ... I think he really does have an advantage on her....
anyways, me and xyro actually talked about this, I think xyro played mr. 3000 and choicebrawler (playing as sonic...) during friendlies during the tourney as well and it changed his mind ^^.... and I've played nor4u before too...
sonic is really good at keeping up pressure on samus and making her play short range defensive.... its harder than a lot of people expect imo....

Hey, I played you guys in doubles for the first tourney match. Our games were fun, and the first one was super close. You both inspire me to play more samus, I really want to pick her up as a secondary. She's a really fun character to play and I would love to get better with her. How did you two end up doing? Me and junk got knocked out pretty quick after that =(.

I was wondering what everyone's thoughts on falco vs samus (how to go about it, how hard is it) are because I'm REALLY starting to hate falco vs ZSS. I was trying to look for per character match-up advice, but I was unable to find it. I know this thread is supposed to be mainly about WCSL, but some insight would be highly appreciated.

Yeah, I wish I could've gone. I'm sure we'd have a lot of fun doing Samus dittos, though I'd bring out Pit and Donkey Kong for some variety.

what makes me angry is the guy who got 5th place in this event was this guy named tyrant. I 2-0ed him in pools. i 2-0ed EBERYBODY in pools......i lost to a diddy kong in winners then beat an olimar in losers then lost to a snake in losers. got me 33rd out of 179.


PS: noob why didnt u return for brawl double?!?!?!?!?!??!?

^ lol, i don't take smash too seriously so instead on that sunday morning i just went to church, went to a party, went shopping, ate dinner, then came back for melee singles finals to watch mango pull an epic JV 4stock to win a perfect 3-0 over zhu lolol.

we'll get 'em someday. i don't think i'll be doing any huge events like this for some time, i'm not comfortable with the tournament setting scene yet so i'll just stick to locals once in a while..

^ he went meta and snake. his snake did better but I think if he didn't play his meta as cautiously he could've done better. that's how he lost to.. claw? i forget, whoever he played in winner's and lost to -- it's because he wasn't being very aggressive.

i mean, xyro is good at punishing, but maybe if he put on a little more pressure it would've been too much for samus to handle (not xyro, but samus)
