I wasn't aware that Jesse wouldn't be i Perth till the 20th_ If possible i would suggest postponing the laser tag until late Jan, not only for Jesse's return but also to allow sufficient time for people to become available_

Vlade might be interested in my latest purchase of "Casshern: Sins"_ It's in Japanese with English subtitles and so far it is fairly enjoyable_ Have to say that i'm edging towards using him in my lineup for TvC after seeing more gameplay videos of him also_

I swear I got eight hours sleep last night... Yet, for some reason, I went to work pretty much dead... One phone call I led this person to the same package three times - it was sorta like "Okay, so you've got 8 people so the best thing to do would be a Party so you can get food included, but since you might have less than 8 you might want to also do the games and then go get food later, but that being said you won't get the food with the party and... uh... okay, let me start again"... x3 :p Then I met up with the rest of the Willo staff to have some drinks, but that failed because a few of us P platers were driving so we went and played more Pool (because there totally wasn't enough of that at the smashfest :p)... I got sandbagged by a pool guru and then beat him because of a fluke snooker xD Hooray for luck!!!

BTW my house still smells of pizza, but I can't find any rogue pieces... Anyone recall dropping a piece in an ingeniously inconspicuous location :p???

I'm sorry but I believe Jesse is a major representative of the South side, we really need him for our events or it's just not right, such as if North didn't have Andre playing.
Hey, don't hype me up before you see me play Laser Tag :p You might not like what you're getting xD

And Jesse deserves a blue name, after all he made me eat Ranch Dressing.
+1!!! But I didn't make you eat ranch dressing - Mic did :p After all, they were his chicken wings :D Speakig of which, how did the victory wing taste, Andre???

I know it may seem like a lot of effort but it isn't really
It stirs up a sense of nostalgia, even in a 3-month scene-goer :p Man, I was surprised at how much happened since October :p

Btw guys read my brief summary of the tier list.
Put it in dot point form, Jupz :D

Care to explain that choice :p???

If possible i would suggest postponing the laser tag until late Jan,
I would be saying that we don't have a choice at this stage - we're way off the mark for a 9-1am right now :p

Last Sunday of Jan is the 31st, so I would be gunning for that tbh (given that it's the last week of holidays for school people, so they SHOULD all be back and wanting to maximise their free time :p)... Plus, it gels well with the whole "one event a month" thing, as the deadline will end up being the last Sunday of the month for most of the months next year :p

All in agreeance, say Aye!!!

If people are still up for Zone on the 3rd Jan, we can still play during the day - I think I can organise $10 for 2 games during the not busy time of the day :p

It was 42 degrees today man, playing laser tag in that for a long period of time causes heat stroke. Do you want heat stroke? Do you?
It was a painful day to be inside Zone working with no air-conditioning D:

---

Good luck to everyone if the 10th Jan tourney goes ahead :p If you don't get a CrazyHat tournament going I will be bitterly disappointed!!!

I went for a bike ride and a walk, yesterday. Heat doesn't bother me that much.

After laser tag we should go, go karting. Fyi, Items are banned. Not straight away, sometime in the future.

It's pretty even, it's kinda like a game of rock paper scissors between us I think (when Kane uses MK at least against me)

I don't know if anyone else is interested in Power Rankings but I'd like to give it a try, I mean it's obvious who's first but the spots from 5-10 will be interesting to see

In fact, I'm going to nominate some panelists. These are people I feel would have a lot to contribute intelligently to the discussion because of their knowledge about the scene as well as their ability to debate matters such as this.

Mic (been in the scene for a long while, in the sbr, has also travelled)
Bob (regularly hosted tournaments at the start of 2009, went to squat)
Trav (currently hosting tournament, went to squat, attended every public smashfest and tourney since he joined the scene)
Muzga (another experienced tournament host, also went to squat)
Jupz (very knowledgeable about the metagame)

I'm inclined to add myself but I don't want to seem biased so someone please recommend me :p

Power Rankings is a great idea. Were all nice enough here to not be arguing like the other states (meaning Melbourne). We just have to not let scoot come in and say "move this guy up 2 spots" or something.

IMO the panel should be

Corpse
Vlade
Trav
Bob

IMO. And we can make our own snobby private group like NSW and act cool n ****

Anyway I just think these guys all place reasonably well (lol corpse), have a decent knowledge about the game, attend a lot of tourneys and so have a good idea of everyones level.

I've not put Ric in there because some of his views are very extremist and he will most probably put himself last on the PR.

I've suggested my choices for the panel in the form of an editted post

Note that I've pretty much disregarded skill level and mainly focused on ability to contribute to an intelligent discussion about our scene

Its reasonably expensive lol. About 500 for a return flight I would assume. Come here for our national :D And get everyone else in Melbourne to aswell :D

And also lolz King Dedede neads his cleaners.

IMO We shouldn't have more then 5 or 6 panelists tops. Between 4-6 is good.

Bob, Trav, Vlade are definites IMO.

Other contenders Mic, Andre, Corpse, and Myself.

Yay thanks scoot. Also I was joking about the melbourne thing lolz I didn't actually read the thread enough to be able to say anything I just noticed luke was flaming as usual and jei was threatening to punch you lol.

Also yes that makes sense with the 4 people. 6 would also accomplish the same thing.

Also Out of staters book early so you get cheap flights <3

</3

Cos my opinions suck?!!

I don't know if we need power rankings tbh, they tend to cause a lot of arguments etc.

Oh and in case any eastern staters are wondering I well and truly consider myself the 4th best player in the state.

You can still majority vote with 4 people, it's just you'd have the opportunity for tied votes which you'd have to decide on what the result will be then :p

EDIT: I think just having the tournament rankings would be enough... I mean, they sorta serve as PRs somewhat???

But you beat Vlade. =P

Anyway, Power Rankings only cause arguments if the Panelists do something wrong when they explain something. Apart from that it's generally because they overreact. If you look at the NSW you'll probably find miniscule disagreements but nothing EVEN CLOSE to an argument.

It's to encourage a unanimous vote MT. Things are just easier with 4 people. 5 or 6 is starting to bring in too many unique opinions that could just halt the progression and accuracy of it.

O **** I forgot all about Kane lol. Kane post moar.

Kanes very skilled, and althugh he doesn't have a super knowledge of the game in general, he knows what it takes to win. He could potentially have a spot.

swordsaint if you lived here you would be coming 4th all the time. This is my honest opinion. Seriously he plays a good falco and can almost beat Shaya which deserves 4th. I just want to see a ditto between you and Vlade because falco ditto's are so LOL.

For the power rankings imo the Judges should be these people:

Corpse: He knows what level everyone is at and has a very good understanding of who should be what he could make a legit list right now if he wanted too.

Mic: Woo mic. Mic has almost hit 30, 000 post and has been here for very long i think he knows where to put people.

Vlade: Can see how well people are playing against certain match ups and if they are doing it well or not.

Jupz: His knowledge is good and he also knows how well people play against certain match ups and if they are playing it right.

Bob: Bob knows how everyone plays like and what position they should be in. He also knows alot about the south players aswell as mic so it becomes more fair.

Richard: He is very honest about things. He would also know who is better then who and things like that.

Overall i think thats a good list:

North:
Sam
Ricarchd
Vlade
Jupz

South:
Bob
Mic

Jupz, Bob and Mic don't always place really high although they should be it's just always those bad days where they either get bad brackets or just don't play too well on the day. This evens it out with 3 people who always place well with 3 others who don't place well all the time which means the judging can be more correct since they know how well the people play who placed around them.

I also agree with Vlade clean the rankings and just start fresh. With the current one it's sorta lame how when you don't attend a tourney you basically don't get any points which could put someone who plays worse then you above you making people think he is the better player.

Oh btw i don't want to be added in this new Power rankings lol. :p

I think power rankings would be good because it would encourage players to improve and try to earn themselves a spot in the top 10

For the Rankings Leaderboard attendance really matter, whereas the PR won't be as harsh as long as you attend quite regularly

Actually in all honest and respect I believe the panel should be

Vlade
Jupz
Mic
Bob

I'm sorry to Sam but him calling glitches and hacks when it's obviously like an invicibility frames means he doesn't have a clear understanding of whats going on.
