Yeah I'm a bit Zelda'd out as well, I mean I'd prefer a few months break, maybe could organise for about half way through next year? I dunno what everyone else thinks of this.
Oh and step away from my Majora's Mask
I'm going to do my best to make a brief summary of how the days panned out (from my head)
If you don't have time to read, read the bold tl;dr's
Tuesday
6pm - Ryan and Josh arrived, helped me set up a little
Majora's Mask
10pm - Majora's Mask start, was busy setting up stream so Ryan took over for the first few mins until he got to clock town.
10:05pm - Started as Deku, did extremely well apart from being hit by a skulltula and having issues with the bombers running into doorways. Also thought I'd show the guys a nice beta opening of the clock tower (youtube it
, pretty nice easter egg/glitch)
10:30pm - Had mask and was normal link, knew my path straight away, Josh played some Initial D music for us which was ****ing awesome. Made many mistakes here
-Got caught by guards 3 times
-Drowned in water once
-Dragon flies hit me
-Accidentally broke my only deku stick in woodfall for lighting torches.
-Spent 1 minute thinking where to go
-Accidentally got compass
Still was happy with my 20 min run including boss fight for Woodfall, I want to cut it down still :/
And I forgot to have activated clock town owl statue so I had to deku back to Termina field, I ignored saving the princess.
11:15pm - Started my snowhead adventures, instead of the plan of getting the blast mask I got bombs, went extremely smooth up to Gorons mask, despite missing the invisible platforms the lense of truth is used for once. Decided to sequence break and go get Zora's mask at this point was pointless but it's a nice in case due tot he ability to stun, getting to greatbay went perfectly and got the owl statue.
Wednesday
12am - Entered snowhead, all sorts of issues happened here, my glitch to skip a room and key went perfectly, I got to the top, almost done in about 20 mins, was extremely happy but realised I forgot a key and with the pillar up it took me another 20 mins to find the key. I had to do the Goron switch room 4 times, luckily I discovered a glitch to ignore the room completely. Around this time Josh messed with the stream and got it going at a fairly decent FPS (still not the best though)
12:30am - Goht fight went extremely well, despite he hit me once, I managed to recover losing about a minute with the most epic kill ever, he ran at me about to kill and arrowd him in the forehead.
tl;dr - Up to greatbay, run wasn't to bad, made about 40 minutes of mistakes though :/
1:30am - Restart the clock, beat goht, got Powder Keg, did Goron racing which for once I won first try, opened up the ranch , got epona/garo's mask. I also started upgrading sword here.
Gerudo's fortress wen't nice, only issue was my 3 runs into here instead of planned 2 due to I had 3 bottles and one was full of gold dust.
-Got 1 egg first run
-Second run got 2
-Third got gerudo's picture and last egg. The Gerudo mini fights were extremely accommodating and let me kill them in a matter of seconds.
Pinnacle rock time, in my practice run this game nothing but trouble due to swimming in signs and the **** snakes, actually wen't extremely well, only way it could of been better is memorising which Snake has an egg.
Getting the song went awfully, I completely forgot where to stand to trigger the learning cutscene costing me about 3 minutes...:/
2:30am (I'm guessing now) - Decided I'd get the bottle from Romani, do the side quest for milk mask (helps in water temple) so after getting my new sword, time to reset time.
New cycle start, waited for my cheateu romani and bout 2 milks and a fairy (since my practice run went awful, bot mini boss and boss got me....). Anyway Great Bay temple was lovely and accomodating, I think this was my favourite part due to how well it went, the mini boss was a bit of a pain due to not opening his eye after disposing of his bubbles, made a few mistakes, nothing major only about 2 mins. Gyrog fight, now this was beautiful, beat him in about 1 minute 30, he hit me once, I was ecstatic as he's always been my least favourite boss.
tl;dr - More trips to pirates than wanted, rest was extremely smooth, even beat aliens without map (first time), gyrog went great.
3:30am - I have no idea how to describe what happened here apart from I didn't practice, it showed. I'm just listing this is dot form.
- Got all items for well, forgot to get gibdo's mask so I had to restart time.
- This was horrid, I went to the toilet and told Ryan to get me my supplies, in this time got my sword stolen =_=
- Captain's mask was actually easy, got him about half way.
- Under the grave was hard due to no sword, bats ***** goron links and I used my fairy...
- Iron Knuckle fight, as goron (not by choice) was actually extremely smooth.
- Wasted a minute getting song of storms due to once again not knowing where to stand
- The Well wen't....Okay (HA NO JOKES FOR YOU!) I had to get Ryan to read me the way through here, Big Poe was a jerk and kept hiding inside the wall, and enemies loved attacking me. Least I had all the items.
- Ikana Castle, wasn't bad, I forgot I had to got the other way for a little wasting 5 minutes, the boss fight was horrid, I had fought him once in my life and had no idea what to do. Wasted alot of time but pulled back on the captain as he glitched into a corner and I arrowd him to hell.
- Stone Tower, this was horrid, had no idea what do. Made it up as I went, wasnt to bad, but fell off at the top and had to redo it, not to forget I forgot the song for quite a bit..:/
- Stone Temple, let's not get started, Ryan was reading me a guide through here, which ended up me getting like 5 stray fairies, spent a good 30 mins on chest to find out it had a fairy, and glitched it halfway and ended up at start of temple....I was raging.
- Inverted, finally some luck, I semi remembered it, even the bat mini boss wasn't to bad but I did use a fairy on him.
- Before Twinmold I went to town to get Cheateu Romani, but it would be to long to open so I settled for 3 fairies, forgot to get Giant's mask and had to go back for it..:/
- Twinmold wasn't to bad, I shrunk twice but was expected.
- Majora Time, I had fought him once in my life before as Fierce Diety Link, so let's be honest, I was worried. Despite this the boss went pretty well, I also discovered a nice glitch on the last form. Took about 7 minutes all up.
tl;dr - Worse run of the game, so many mistakes, least Majora was nice.
By this time it was 8am, I wanted sub 8 hrs and got 10 so I was pretty annoyed I'll be honest.
Wind Waker
8am - Usual stuff, prologue etc, Alister hadn't arrived yet. I had alot of issue's adjusting to the new controls, but the fights and training went well, got the grandma's yellow rupee under house. Got to around the sheild part and had to walk to train station meet Alister (Ryan took over).
8:40am - Got back, had forsaken fortress, I decided to do it, I owned it apart from forgot to turn off a light, had to go back and had horrid luck Alister took over.
9am - Had sail and off we went, with "I'm on a boat" im hand, was good fun. Dragon Roost wen't lovely, tingle saved a good minute blowing up boulders...As always we got lost inside and took a few mins to find the correct exit to medli, entrance to dungeon and dungeon itself Alister *****, so I was happy with that.
10am - Had a few issues getting in forest haven, swung into water and failed to "reach land" (Andre and Trav will get it).
11am - Boss time of Forbidden woods, I was tired so took a power nap in my room. I have no idea how this went, but during the time Josh got called and had to leave early :/. Which sucked.
2:30pm - Got up, Alister was in the Earth temple so was making nice progress.
3:00pm - Boss complete, ready for next temple and player swap to....Me =_=
The Wind dungeon was horrid, I barely remembered it, so had issues there, I must of wasted at least 30 minutes. Molgera hated me but we all rocked out to the music.
5:00pm - After getting 3 Triforce Maps, Alister and Josh were outta here, Ryan took over again, he didn't get any maps but got us our Joy pendants and the rupee upgrade, so wasn't to bad I guess.
7:30pm - Had all Triforce Maps, time to get shards.
8:30pm - Off to Ganons tower, bosses wern't bad, stuffed up in the repeat of the Earth temple but singing the Time Warp and making Link do it. And tried using Grappling Hook on Molgera instead of Hookshot...LIKE 4 TIMES!
9:00pm - Into the tower, took me a while to remember to jump into the darkness for Phantom Ganon fight. Climbing the stairs took a while since I missed an enemy, had to decend and up again.
9:20 pm - Was used to the 64 aiming on bow making Puppet Ganon a pain, luckily on the Snake form we discovered you can camp up top with bombs to stun him then get the hit.
9:30 pm - Ganon time! This went lovely, got hit once and made short work of him.
10:00 pm - The End appears (which is when you can change games)
Ocarina of Time
Lets note, Ryan was up since 10 am the day Tuesday and had not slept this was horrid. I also love how we got 24 hrs for 2 games, how win is that?
And I can only document what I was awake for.
10:00 pm - Prologue, intro etc. Ryan ***** Deku tree obviously, not much to say
11:00pm - Does the Gold Scale Glitch, does Jabu Jabu first for fun. Get's lost inside and spends about 2 mins redirecting himself, and he forgot the fish to enter him which took a while.
11:30pm - Dodongo's cavern, I was at the computer at this time so can't say to much, he seemed to own it, also got a few good "Dodongo dislikes smoke" jokes in there.
Thursday
12:00am - Made some good jokes at Link's stupidity facing Ganon, I wen't off to check the comp again and such, came back in time for Forest temple, reminded him to get the first key, this wen't very smoothly, barely any mistakes apart from him dying to Phantom Ganon, but t'is life.
At this point I decided to take a nap so I'll document what I remember.
-Trying to Uber challenge into water temple
-Morpha apparently glitching, johns imo.
-Trying to get into spirit temple without lense of truth, wasted 20 mins.
-Owning the well
-Getting lost in Gerudo's fortress, spent a while.
-Skipping Ganon's Trials
-Owning Ganondorf
-Owning Ganon
Kudos to Andre' and my friend Blake (I think Trav did too) for keeping Ryan awake via talking in the chatroom.
Twilight Princess
Now it goes downhill worse.
10:00am - we decide it's possible to do Twilight in this time, so we get started ASAP. Forgot to skip first cut scene, goat herding was...Okay.
10:10am - Did the gate skip glitch, which was great, saved the children...BUT FORGOT THE SLINGSHOT, since I couldn't kill the enemies, reset number 1. I wasted about 40 mins of game time on this, the pressure was on.
11:00 am - Entered Twilight, I remembered everything well and did pretty awesome in collecting and such,
11:30 am - Started Forest temple, few mistakes, boss and mini boss wen't extremely well. Missed a monkey and the boss key costing about 10 minutes. (Alister arrived in this time)
12:00 pm - Off to Kakariko Twilight, once again collection went well, stopped Epona first shot, failed sumo twice =_= (iron boots wern't on due to alister playing), we also cost about 5 minutes not realising we just head straight back to Ordon after facing the Goron. Fighting King Bulbin went well, despite me still use to Link being left handed. Goron Mines went well, made 2 mistakes over all costing a few minutes, went well.
1:00 pm - All is going well, feeling good about it. Went wrong way, then forgot bombs, all this cost about 10 minutes. Alister handled Twilight Parasite collection, went relatively smoothly, he died on boss so I had to do it.
2:30pm - Water temple start, this went to ****, the guide sends you in circles like "Go here, not much to do here, head out". So that was a *****, I made it up on the spot on what to do, didn't go to well, I took a shortcut to get boss key which was nice, but stuffed up a bit due to forgetting I need to enter room from above. Then didnt have second switch activated so I tried glitching into boss room failing, it got to about 4:00 pm and Ryan and Alister were about to leave. I figured at this point the chances of finishing Twilight were very low since I was dead on my feet and I doubt I could one man the rest in 6 hrs. I know it was doable but chances are I'd fail. So we decided to call it quits here.
Looking back at it I could have passed it and I regret my decision to end it here, but that is the way of life. I'd like to thank Josh, Ryan and Alister for coming down for it, for everyone who tuned into to watch from memory this being
-Andre
-Trav
-Jesse
-Blake
-Alister
All that is extremely appreciated, and all the support we got. Also want to thank Ryan Adams, Peter Sohl, Joey Dolensky and Ryan Hoffman, for allowing us to verse them despite they owned us badly, and the support they gave.
Dw, me, Alsiter and Ryan have agreed we should try it again next year, and we'll be better equipped for people to watch and such, hopefully we can get a few of you guys down to join in as well.
