Doubt I can bring in tables.

Its July right?

Also, next tourney on the 29th or 6th? I'm leaning towards the 6th atm.

I understand you are trying to help Pete and you are doing some great work_ My advice is for everyone to gather together and discuss a proper plan and then to have our chosen representatives approach companies for sponsorship with our details_ Only then should we begin to seriously approach venues_

I've added you to the mailing list Techno and will update the tournament results tomorrow alongside with the rankings/ results from the previous tournament which i wil dig up_

Enjoyed seeing everyone on Sunday_ Marty, you spaced better than me and got the kills, you're playing has improved and it was an honour to finally be beaten by you_ On a side note, i have a special prize and tournament that will be held at the next tournament_ The prize is the pre-order Mario hat for the upcoming Super Mario Bros. Wii game, which i currently hold in my hands_ The rules_? Possibly Mario/ Luigi only or ONLY Mario characters in a select few stages_ Discuss_

Its December, because Vlade is all 'ooh, look at me, I play an instrument!'

EDIT: Sponsorship wouldn't actually effect venue fee, though, just how much comes out of the entrant's pockets. Thus, it'd be more logical to approach venue's first so we know how much we'd like as far as sponsorship goes.

In an alternate universe.
i havent played any of the above games except tekken, Mario Kart, and Pokemon. never touched the others

edit: Bob, i'd be up for that :D

@ Jupz, i dont really mind which date it is, as long as it's decided before too long, so i can update my friend on what's happening.

What? December?

The rest of Australia thinks its in July. Lets just keep it in July, I think Melb. is planning to host one around then. December is too far away :(

Also 6th or 29th for the next tourney? need inputs.

Vlade can't be here in July, and so he won't let us run it then. Its awfully selfish of him, but it does coincide with a few of the Perth SF4 community going away, so..

In my opinion, go for the 6th, it's closer to SQUAT and it's better for me (seriously if I got to one on the 29th I'll be killed >>;)

As for Tables, my brother has like 10 of those fold up tables from bunnings, each could hold 2 set ups (they're about the size of the ones in the church), I'm sure I could convince him to donate them for the weekend of the tournament.

As for Bob, it's always fun versing you and beating you was fun, but I honestly felt I played awful that game and didn't deserve to win.

Edit: Happy 606'th post to both me and Muzga!

We'll probably get a sponsor in the form of Gametraders, hopefully. If not, we'll go beg to some other video game selling company.
Been saying for quite a while I could get us in with Game traders if you guys give me the nessecary info...

My self and Proxy and pretty buddy buddy with 2 game traders franchise owners, and not as in hi how you going mate sorta buddy, I mean I know where they grew up what their hopes and dreams are and whether they like blondes or brunettes.

So if you give me something to present I guarentee I would make this **** happen. I've also previously discussed with one of the owners getting 96fm involved if we got Game Trader sponsorship.

edit - And sod Vlade, he's not going to squat and I'm gonna be flying out on the 5th so I need the practise!!! Make it the 29th :D

Well, since we don't have info yet, I'll write it up for you once it exists. :p

All we have at the moment is 'There'll be some games there, at a venue, at some date in November/December', and people are still arguing over the months. I blame Vlade for that.

halo was a joke
Since when has it not been :p??? Regarding side events, I think it's going to boil down to whether or not to add another fighting game to the list... Whilst another fighting game would probably attract more interest given the mentality of the people competing, a non-fighting game a la Mario Kart would be a breath of fresh air, which IMO a side event should be :p

As for Tables, my brother has like 10 of those fold up tables from bunnings, each could hold 2 set ups (they're about the size of the ones in the church), I'm sure I could convince him to donate them for the weekend of the tournament.
How will you get them here, though??? I doubt they'd fit in any of our cars and taking 10 tables on the train would be a little inconvenient :p Assuming same prices, we should probably go for the one that can accommodate us better...

I've also previously discussed with one of the owners getting 96fm involved if we got Game Trader sponsorship.
96FM has expressed interest??? Or is it just a thought??? I'm just saying 'coz I thought 96FM was becoming the new mix 94.5 (as in, a mid 20s - 30s demographic, which doesn't fit the major demographic of the boards, being mid-late teens to mid 20s)... Media coverage would be awesome though, wherever it comes from :p (As previously discussed, some form of coverage from gaming media would also be a god idea :p)

6th or the 29th?
Ether's fine for me - the party I'm going to on the 28th is in Joondalup anyway, so I'll just stay the night and come straight from there :p... I'll be moving house in early December, but I highly doubt we'd be moving on a Sunday... Ether way, as long as I know what date it is I can pack/unpack accordingly so that I have less to do on the tournament date, and thus be able to attend :p Just try not to settle on a date like 2 days before pls :p

I'd prefer the 29th, since its closer and I'm getting obsessive about Brawl now.

On side events, you could really just run them in between rounds for the main events for the 'more fun, less competitive'. Obviously, a bigger side event with serious entries like Tekken wouldn't want to be stalled, but I doubt anyone will completely rage about having to wait longer to play a round of Mario Kart. Thus, more smaller, funner side events are possible with maybe two 'real' side events (large events, but less prize money type events)

In regards to 96fm, they sponsor most gaming tournys that Game Traders Carillion puts on and I have no doubt we'd be the same if we made a decent proposition.

Well, the more consoles/set-ups there are available the more possible side events you could have, or (more optimally) the more smoothly the side events can be run... I assume we'll be having Wiis and X360s available (3:1 ratio probably :p), so maybe it'd be better to have 360 side events as the "fun" events due to the lack of numbers, and their lack of use after the SF4 tournament...

Unless there's a Wii version of SF4 that Google's not telling me about............

I learned something new today ^^ Way to go 96fm!!!

Tekken's event will most likely be about the same size as SF4, so they'll still be used, and it'll prob. be PS3s, not 360s, due to (take a guess) stability. Also loading times, but that's not a way to insult 360s, so I'll stick to the first one. :p

Wii being 'fun' is probably easier, though, because of the fact there's alot more hilarious games on Wii than on the others, and the fun ones will probably get a ton (relatively) of entrants because 'dude, they're running Mario Kart, that'll be hilarious'.

I'm a 100% for the 29th. Like seriously i will be there and i will be square.

Did the exam today i think i did alright. Still should of gone tourney instead so i know for next time.

As for the whole national tourney tell the venue people a National Gaming Tournament. But imo it's better if someone old talks to the people about the venue. So Bob / Kane / Rob. I think Rob is the best at speaking and explaining stuff while Bob is a machine at setting up.

I love it when Bob has little prizes for small side tourneys :p. I am already going to get my mario cap but i might still enter as Mario since it is decent. Anyone up for some New super mario bros wii FFA's next tourney? We can make the rules just run and finish the stage and not wait for others if they can't catch up :p.

Sorry to do this guys but i believe it is time i showed you my true potential in brawl.

For those who aren't that good at human biology, you don't do much growing in the final years of puberty. Thus, a 16 year old looks similar to an 18 year old with pimples, and a 16 year old in a suit with huge shoulder padding looks similar to someone who knows what they're talking about. Plus, my voice was enough to get Richard to ask me how old I actually am and I commentate, so I know how to talk. :p

Plus, most of its done over email, anyway.

You can't hold a perth national tournament without the vladester, lol

Anyway in July we'd get less entrants because it's the US summer, and people would probably want to go to the next 'genesis' anyway, so December we'd get more entrants, plus easier to organise since it's summer holidays

As for side events you all know I'm up for TvC and Pokemanz.

Bob I'm really interested in playing all luigi next tournament :p Count me in for the challenge

@Alzi: Aren't I the one who coined 'super saiyan mode' in brawl? :p

Oh yeah as for tourney date, either is fine :) Either way I'd be hella rusty lol

Fine fine, I see where your going, Ill grow my goatee back, put on my suit and visit places...Well actually most of you did think I was in my 20's to start with.

Oh and I heard from Josh some dude that was at a Yu-Gi-Oh tourney doing coverage for some magazine or something (I didnt listen then that well) was interested in doing it for one of the brawl tournies as well. I really don't know much of it as they said they'll call him back, so yeah if that's the case could be good.
Btw this is Josh, he exaggerates stuff so the authenticity of this is still unknown to me :p

It's not good to make general statements, especially about human biology... I know some 15 year olds that could easily pass off as 21, and some 20 year olds that couldn't get into a bottleo even with ID... You could probably get away with it, Pete, but just looking old isn't enough - you have to scrub up too ^^

My mum's friends with the owner of this really swish 'male beauty' type place. I can get one of the swish 'trim + shave + face wash + other ****' deal for cheap. It feels so bloody brilliant afterwards, it makes me understand why females get such stuff. :p

EDIT: Also, I just realised, I forgot to pay you back for the chips. Sorry, I'll do that next time.

You guys need to calm down with this talk of scrubbing up and "Manicures" lol. Don't weird people out by coming on too strong. Can guarentee a lot of the people we'd approach to organise this sorta thing are probably sick of having pepped up nerds hassling them lol. Just have a well thought and solid plan for what ever you want to present and make sure you have answer ready for questions you think they may potentially ask.

Nothing demonstrates professionalism like organisation.

Vlade just don't go on the band trip lol. Then we can have it in July.

Otherwise MAKE SURE it is LATE DECEMBER. Cause of leavers and other trips.

It could maybe even be in January 2011. IDC. But no way november/early December.

Looks like the 29th so far... sorry alex and glenn :(

All I meant was not to go in looking like a hobo ^^ I didn't mean like slicked back hair, suit and tie, champagne-in-one-hand-cigar-in-the-other type stuff (though that last one.... :p)

Mario & Luigi Bowsers Inside story imo is DS game of the year.
Don't tempt me with such notions!!! Must... save... cash.......
