All I meant was not to go in looking like a hobo ^^ I didn't mean like slicked back hair, suit and tie, champagne-in-one-hand-cigar-in-the-other type stuff (though that last one.... :p)

Don't tempt me with such notions!!! Must... save... cash.......
I was going to go in as a Pierce Brosnan impersonator, but if that was all you meant... :p

The sarcasm was sarcasm. My ball date, for instance, utterly loves music, and if she heard me say that, I wouldn't be able to come to the next Brawl tournament due to being in torture for the next 10 years.
The lighthearted joke was a lighthearted joke:p

Okay FF9 is so unfair. Second last boss. He has an attack called Flare star, it's damage is 35 x (your level) so basically if you're level 99 for example it's 3465, which more than 1/3 of your max hp no matter what level..HE DID IT 3 TIMES IN A ROW ><

Man I wish I had musical talent lol :p But I don't mind just listening to it I guess... 'specially when Karnivool's around :p

My dream gig: Karnivool, supported by Skindred, Mars Volta and Dead Letter Circus :p SALIVATING just at the thought of that :p

Man, that's the only song I haven't got sick of after using it as my ring tone :p Bloody wicked live!!!!

Still, off Sound Awake I am prefering Deadman and Goliath at the moment :p I think it's because I've been listening to a lot of other faster stuff similar to Set Fire and Karnivool offers my change of pace :p

EDIT: Best Drumming Ever ::: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9iFZRGTN_VM

What "type" of Jpop, though??? Everyone's (by everyone, I mean Western people who haven't been to Japan) refer to pretty much any song sung in Japanese as JPop, and therefore attaches a stigma to it under the "pop" genre...

For me, good music has no language barrier :p I enjoy Acidman just as much as I would enjoy the Butterfly Effect... It's just a shame that it's so hard for non-English bands to break through to Western society :(

PAL zones for games try to do their part by adding foreign songs to their track list, but really most of the good stuff won't get on there, because it's not "commercial" enough... Which is sad, because I would love to see what France's answer to gangsta rap would be :p

EDIT: I youtubed it... I didn't like the result :p But then again, not a big fan of rap in the first place I guess

A mixture of stuff. Favourite artists would be Ikimono Gakari, High and Mighty Colour, Flumpool, Mr Children, L'Arc~en~Ciel, UVERworld to name a few

More people need to break passed the language barrier :)

29th would be better imo_ Gives time for people to relax and get mentally ready for SQUAT_ Graeme msged me about SQUAT and it seems he will be booking tickets to come along_

Pete is doing a good job looking for venues etc_ I agree with Kane about setting a plan about sponsors etc and how we should approach them_ I think currently everyone is snowed under with school and SQUAT hype to even think about our national next year_ Personally i would like a day/ night were we can get together and really discuss what we are aiming to achieve with this national_

I'm talking physical numbers about participation, side events, catering, housing, sponsorship, possible locations etc_ If everyone can get as much information as possible beforehand, it will really help us decide on which paths we should take_ I;m assuming we willl have more serious discussions about this after SQUAT_

I will do the posters.

I can first do like a simple poster just to get peoples attention then later on the year have the stores replace them with this hell nice looking one to sorta hype it up for people who saw the first one. If you know what i mean.

Catering is absurdly expensive everywhere, so I recommend everyone just buys their own food from the restraunt if they want it. $48/a head is not necessary if people don't want it. Participation, we only have flawed estimates at the moment, but I'm sure we'll be able to find some numbers soon. SF4, we're looking at at least 40, I can say that much. Gametraders pulled 32 for a mini-tournament in Perth, so we can outdo that. Plus, not many will come from out of state, really. Brawl/Melee are harder to judge for, though.

EDIT: I mean, we can discuss catering if you guys want post-SQUAT, but really, $48/head from the University is way too much, and they're probably cheaper than the other options.

I completely agree with Pete on the catering issue, especially considering the abundance of food options: UWA/any university has food outlets there, which should be operational up until mid December (as the academics work til about then)... Conv. Centre/anywhere in the city has food outlets sprawled throughout the city...

But, of course, this will also factor into the decision - we can't hold it in a venue where food cannot be easily/cheaply accessed, or people will rage :p

And then that **** Mario came up and was all "Stop stealing Peach!" and he was all "Look, I'm too tired for this. She's in the boot of the car. Just take her."
