awww <3 melee but I have Dekar as a teams partner next ranbat. We were going to be the best team ever with the best team name ever. All just a dream now...*cries*
I'll settle for melee though.
I'll also bring my tv if I'm driving down, but that's not likely.
Well if you drive down (know that you can't drink) if you can pick us up (petrol money included) we'll bring like 2 t.vs

X i'll team with you
Team Infinate ammo!
That is if i is on next ranbat :ohwell:

*wishes to be 18 and have a car and licence... oh and a TV that plays brawl* :(
We've already won.

Sweet. I'll give you a call when I get in Cao. Anyone else want to come?

Dekar, I agree! My schedule here is really odd, but I had to make it this way sadly. Wish I could have made it to the tournament and ski trip, but I'm perfectly happy just seeing you guys and maybe attending a smashfest or something. I didn't know Australia had a player named Forte too. In the US there is a Metaknight player named Fourte. The question is, who had the name first?

X, you don't need to practice melee. Heh, you can go ages without playing it and still do okay. I played it for the first time since November a few weeks ago at Hayato's, and it's pretty much like riding a bike (except for DI and trying to airdodge after being hit).

Only about a week now! Can't wait!

I voted no... if i see the "yes's" on the pole rise i'll make more accounts and vote no, j/k... but not really, LOL.

Why are we paying 5 bux for a free venue with no lights? I wouldn't care if it was for the smash community, / prizes because i always thought that what it was for but i refuse to fund the third strike/guilty gear/master cheif fighting game where he has no guns and his armour that protects him from an invasion can't handle a poke from a girl...game. I'm outraged....OUTRAGED!

and expensive...
DEEP BREATH.

Parking is free on Sunday.
You only have to go one block over from Lygon St and you'd find one no worries.

Your 5 bucks pays for lights. :D
kek

For serious though, the money goes towards building the establishment that is CW. The immediate reward may not be apparent, but it will be in time.

Don't worry i'll organise something real soon and pin up the details.

As for the Ranbats, at the moment there is no confirmation on the date of the August Ranbat. Although it was an originally safe assumption that it was going to be held on the 17th of August, there's a slight chance it might be bumped onto a later date, as dates for the rest of the season aren't secured.

More details as they come. I have no control over this.

CAOTIC said:
If it gets pushed a weekend later, about 14 smashers won't be able to attend because of a planned Ski Trip that takes place between the 23rd and the 25th of August. That move will also take out many of the organisers for Smash meaning it pretty much won't run.

Hopefully the original date stays, as the new venue may quickly become more trouble than it's worth (from a Smash standpoint anyway)

has em ever beaten cao in ANYTHING?

EVER? =D
I've got 2 vids of me beating cao easy...

...from seat 1. I "was" ... uh... good at one point? Then there's this thing called WoW that consumed 2 years of my life. Then I'm just super sh*tty at smash in general. =)

I'd bring a TV, but it's like...50 gay hz. I'd bring the main TV, but my parents would place a big stamp of rejection on my face.

Let's bring PC's! =P Least its better than the crappy lag at the connection tour!

Edit to Dekar's post below:
I do recall Mr. Plasia bringing in his pc to a monthly ages back. And we played melee on it. There's noticeable lag, but no biggie I don't think. I do remember Shaz complaining about it..but hey :p

Dekar, you forgot Smashaid! Emily got 3rd there and beat Husband and a bunch of other people. I still remember Team Ben telling everyone that she must have gotten Captain Jack training.

Bach asked Ryota if he could get training too. After Ryota said he never trained her, his second reply was, "With Sheik use the slap... A lot." I'm sure Shaz remembers, as he was the training partner and was beating Bach with Pichu (poor Bach!)

Has anyone been to the Melbourne aquarium? I wasn't able to find out much about it, but I know that I once heard that Australia has some of the worlds best aquariums. I think there is supposed to be a good zoo too, but all I know is what the guidebooks told me.

Are there any must sees in Melbourne? Sort of an arbitrary question, since everyones interests are bound to vary, but any suggestions are certainly appreciated!

Melbourne is mostly regarded its for eating/cultural/design/events/sport rather than the sum of it's tourist attractions. Compared to other Aussie cities, it's more indoors. Having said that, the zoos and aquarium aren't bad, but if you're going to the barrier reef, the Melbourne Aquarium is pretty much useless, unless you wanna see fishies from colder waters. They are building another part to the aquarium at the moment, which will be an Antractic Aquarium, so ****... lol.

The zoos are okay (like any other zoo out there), but you'll probably have more fun going to a low-key feeding/petting zoo like where I took Ken last year. You can't really interact with Aussie animals at the main zoos where they are in enclosures but in the petting zoos, you can hug them and pet them and squish them and fluffy them... <3 as long as you feed them :)

I have a bunch of free tickets to things like observation decks and museums which I'm more than happy to offload to you if you wish.

Em will never beat me in Melee. I'm just too good.

Perhaps Kyle will beat me. After all I'm just you're average American in skill level, and Kyle is not. :)

I'd like to set up the meet on the 7th or the 8th as more people would be free (especially at night), but what days would people be most free on, between Tuesday and Friday?

Kyle let me know if you've got the 8th free or if you're definently heading out to the coast then.

Thanks.

Jei - Just send me an email or a FB message, I don't go on MSN much anymore

Kyle in Melbourne I'd suggest taking the time to take a walk around the city at night-time. specifically around the Yarra river and such on the Casino side.

Sweet! Are there a number of good museums? Seeing a few would be nice for sure. If you have free tickets, it would sure be worth visiting and greatly appreciated! A petting zoo too eh? What kind of animals? If we're talking about a few marsupials, that would be amazing! I'm totally up for seeing some things as a group and getting some smash in too perhaps.

Does anyone else play tennis or poker by the way?

I'm not a hundred percent sure if I'll be there on the 8th, but I'll be around on the 7th. I can give you more specific info in a bit, and perhaps we can find a time that works best for everyone.

Only a few more days! Too good!

Thanks for the availability update. Lots of museums, I like the Melbourne Museum!

Petting zoo = everything Australian = Wallabies (cuted), Roos (cuted), craploads of native birds (they peack and hurt), wombats, etc. It's in Philip Island, couple hours drive from town.
<3<3<3<3<3

Lots of us play poker! We should bring in a set and play in a city bar!

I havent played tenis since high school, but I can still play!

I still have our makeshift poker set from queensland! I also love poker! I can bring it or we get a real one! So what are we doing this weekend, a smash'd meet or what? I'd love to properly celebrate my 23rd this weekend!

So many possibilities, heh.

That petting zoo sounds great! Seeing a Wallaby up close would be the best. Poker, tennis, smash, a tour of the city... Hmm, I don't know how we would make room for so many things. Poker in particular can take a really long time, so I guess we can put that on the backburner for now. If we have time I'd certainly enjoy playing, but the other three activities interest me a bit more.

I'm up for doing something on Wednesday night if there are plans to go out somewhere. Friday night, too, but I'd be late in joining you as I have work 'til about 9 30 -_-.

Also, ski trippers! Book in your ****! My sister and I made reservations at the hostel and you should too!
