This is the ruleset we've been using at our monthlys for the last year and a bit now, so its not like much has changed or anything.

Everyones making out its like an entire new ruleset or something lol.

It isn't like double MK is dominating our results or anything either

not that i had anything to do with the brawl ruleset, but

6 stages. bo5 with 2 bans - 4 stages left. if a bo5 goes the distance, most likely the first stage which both players struck to and deemed the fairest stage is played again.

Double MK is banned in a lot of American scenes, I didn't go to one tournament in the states that didn't have double MK banned [or him completely banned]. I'll be very happy to play the team in doubles though. It's not like Double MK invalidates 99% of teams that don't have at least one meta knight in them (maybe 100% of teams that don't include lucas [gnes/razer is close to the only anamoly]), so it's fine. But this doesn't realistically apply to Australia as everyone's pocket MK is horrendous, let alone if they main him.
MK is illegal throughout parts of midwest, texas, florida and Canada.

Lucas is exceptionally good in doubles and is one of the true meta breakers at high level doubles play (at the moment). People are putting effort into Lucas based teams after the success of ESAM/Mekos. The mechanic is extremely hard to deal with (close to lagless heal move that heals 50% more than the damage given or some ****) and sits well within the viability sea of team compositions that are not Meta Knight/Lucario (as in, that team is ****ing bonkers and makes everything else look mediocre). Honestly though I think double MK would be doing better on average by the same players (if they could use double mk) against Lucas teams.
