No offence, but Nintendo has a very poor history when it comes to television adaptions of their series.
Having a Rhythm based character would be tricky. Combos in fighting games have their own rhythm for sure, but trying to fit a musical rhythm into a fighter can't be the easiest task in the world, especially if your whole game isn't based on such a thing.
Does it really have to be that in-depth though. They can just do it simple with Mario and Luigi having to save Bowser from Peach. Easy said can be done.
I mean, it doesn't have to be super complex or anything but generally story telling is considered much more important when critically assessing a film as compared to a video ga- hold on wait a minute.

I think that Nintendo will have their hands on this movie pretty hard. I'm not expecting an amazing film, but I doubt they'll let it be trash.I'm sure everyone agrees Mario is not the Nintendo series you go to for stories. But it's the most profitable in-house one. Pretty much wasZephyrZ said.
I'm still pretty curious to see the final product though. It won't be too bad, I imagine.
What I'm thinking too honestly.
So then in that case, what would be the point of going to see a movie like that when it’s something you can play at home? I’m not saying it has to be the next Lord of the Rings but it’d be nice to have a story that has some justification as to why it’s in theaters.
There should be an adaptation of the Super Mario Adventures comic (though let a studio with a better grasp on radical expressions and comedic timing handle it)
Yeah. If you're expecting some mishap like the previous attempt at a Mario film, that's probably overreaction. Not to mention this film will likely be really profitable.
Main thing probably being that it can fit in more silly humor than can be typically expressed in a Mario game, as most Mario games focus on gameplay rather than on things like interactions between the characters. There’s a lot of humor in games such as the RPGs, but the way it would be expressed in movie form would be at least somewhat distinct.
Yeah, I’m curious about that as well along with who’ll be the ones voicing them...
For Yoshi, I think I would prefer a female voice actor rather than a pitched male one even though that was used for him for over 20 years...
Should Yoshi have full lines of dialogue? I'm honestly not sure what makes more sense for him.
If he were to speak, I think the Mario world cartoon did it okay. Ignoring the fact that the show itself was crap.

The current games have never been consistent on if he's actually physically talking (Super Mario Galaxy 2) or if it's a pseudo Pokemon-esque language (Mario & Luigi). It used to be that he was clearly and unambiguously speaking, but eh. But in this movie, I want him to talk. I am NOT giving Illumination the benefit of the doubt on having Yoshi's pseudo-language working...
Probably the best case scenario for him tbh...

That may be a bit too heavy, I think the Mötley Crüe song has the right energy and feel.
