We’re talking One Piece?

Why the crap is it called “One Piece,” out of curiosity. xD

(Also if you split it in half, do you get two pieces?)
That's the name of the ultimate McGuffin of the entire series. It's the hidden treasure of a famous pirate who hid it somewhere in the world and every is trying to find it

Hmm... I think it was when they just got to the Grand Line...

Yes, that long ago :yoshi:
Oh wow, yeah.

You're in for the long haul.

The series is called "One Piece" because it's the name of a treasure left behind by the King of the Pirates, the idea being that all the treasure is together in "one piece"; at least, that's the general assumption, it's never actually explained in story.

A “famous pirate,” you say?

Donkey Kong's Neutral Special(Giant Punch): Charges up a punch that can keep charging after dodging or shielding. Especially effective against transphobes.

Um... so it's kind of like the One Ring then, I guess?

wouldn't a LotR anime be amazing lol?

So, me and Smashing Toad were discussing Shante.

SmashingToad: If the monkey ability could attack, it would be busted.
Me: But everyone in this game IS busted.

(I think I’m funny.)

Nobody knows except Eiichiro Oda (the writer), his editors and one little Japanese boy who died (yes, this was a real thing, Oda told the ending to a boy on his deathbed).

The series has never actually specified what, exactly, the One Piece is. Though Oda has gone on record saying that it is a tangible thing and not something cheesy like "the real reward is the adventure and the friends we made along the way". Fans have made theories, but obviously none of them are conclusive.

Actually, thinking about it, very few people in-story actually wonder about what the One Piece is, most just assume it's a crap-ton of treasure and leave it at that (there are actually living characters in the story who know what it is, where it is and how to get it, but none of them actually use this information).

I had some issues with Baby Bowser until I decided to stop using heavy hitters like K. Rool and Bowser and just try and hit him from a distance with Toon Link and his projectiles. The last Spirit I got was Black Shadow which took me a few tries. I guess the Spirit that overall gave me the most trouble was probably Pyra as I eventually decided to just purchase her spirit and call it a day...

Tbh, One Piece sounds like it'd be a pretty fun adventure story about finding a mysterious treasure but good god, is it filled with padding that goes nowhere and the anime only makes it worse.
I've read on some of the powers and they're actually pretty fun and creative, even ones that are simple elemental manipulations but I'd be damned if I'm ever going to read that whole thing.

Also the Master Edges spirit battle (vs. multiple spammy Clouds, all on Final Destination) is a real pain even if it's only ranked as an Ace.

I didn't find the Pyra one to be that difficult?

The most difficult Spirit Battle for me was The Boss, but it might be because she was the first Legend I took on, and I still didn’t fully understand the system.

I might have been a bit underpowered at that time as she was one of the earlier Spirits I tried to get, so perhaps I might have a better time getting her spirit this time, oh well... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Pyra needs a Spirit that makes you immune to the Lava Floor, I tried to face it without one and... no, not happening.

I found the Eggman fight pretty difficult.

One Piece actually has very little actual padding, it's just a long story because Oda loves world building, pretty much every arc is important in some way.

The only story arcs so far that are actually superfluous are the Island of Rare Animals arc and the Long Ring Long Land/Davy Back Fight arc, but even the latter ended with something important.

The thing about the Davy Back Fight is that it was meant as a breather arc, since the arc immediately before and after it were huge by the standards of the time; the anime makes the arc worse by doubling it's length and then moving the actually important bit to the filler arc that comes after it, not to mention that the Davy Back Fight is preceded by one of the best Filler Arcs ever (the G8 arc).

The recent Dressrosa arc is the longest arc so far, and that one I can see complaints of padding with, right when you think the big climactic fight is going to start, the villain literally kicks Luffy out of his lair and has one of his minions create a mountain that the heroes have to climb up.

The reason One Piece feels so long imo is that it focuses REALLY well on 8 characters, really fleshing out what each one is doing each arc.

Which makes arcs take a while.

Yeah I believe she also has an ally that has the spicy curry equipped so a Franklin Badge might also be useful.

Speaking of which, was it just me, or where there quite a few Spirit Battles in the game that took place on a Battlefield form of a stage with a female primary fighter and a swordy (usually from Fire Emblem) ally or vice versa?

Probably just me...

I consider high Alert counts after returning as a thing to strive for (as long as you're not getting them because you said something controversial).

Pretty much.

Also, the manga is way, way better than the anime, for two reasons:
  1. Better pacing in the modern era
  2. The cover stories (the anime only covered the first two, they're all important)

Yeah, now that you mention it...

If I don't get at least 40 by the time I log back on, I would think I'm slacking :yoshi:

Oh, we're talking about Spirit Battles?
When I found him on the spirit board, the Rayman spirit battle was actually surprisingly easy...
And honestly, that kind of disappointed me. I wanted to have a bit of difficulty obtaining one of my favorite characters. Is that wrong?

No. You have no idea how upset I am that Duster is such a low ranking Spirit.
