It's probably due to most attacks being done by the Pikmin themselves, which wouldn't make sense to have different stats or attributes.

When I saw that everyone was freaking out over a fart joke in Detective Pikachu I thought it was going to be, like, Charizard lighting up a gas cloud into a fiery explosion or something. I just watched that new trailer and pfft, that joke was really tame. I don't see what everyone is freaking out over.

Then again I wasn't actually that invested in how the movie was going to turn out anyway.

Illumination is actually fantastic at animation. They got a nice cartoony style.

They just can't write to save their lives.

My biggest fear is how Illumination would handle Yoshi. They might just have him say nothing but his name over and over...

Their... not the company that handles characters like that the best. I prefer he's not in the movie over that...

I have to agree. It was like "realistically as many true Nintendo icons that we haven't put in yet in one game". Then Smash 4 was more "all the newer characters people know that haven't been put in yet", and Ultimate was "the ones you kept asking for, gawd".

Tetra was never on the file list. Toon Sheik was. I don't know why people keep mispreading this information, but there is absolutely nothing to suggest he meant Tetra. He might've considered Tetra at some point, but it's clear he meant a double clone this way if we're being realistic. Toon Sheik/Toon Zelda was the intended plan.

Also, he didn't really consider Banjo & Kazooie either. It's more that he used them as an example of impossible characters due to licensing(same with James Bond). They were very quickly dismissed.

Richter also has separate animations and voice, plus Simon’s moveset has a lot of Richter’s signature moves.

Oilmar on the other hand has no voice in Smash, and his animations are fairly non-descript, meaning they fit just as fine with Alph as they do with Olimar.

Furthermore, Rock Pikmin would require an entirely new model, with new physics and everything. While it’s true that some Echoes are more different than others (Chrom, Ken), I feel like that goes beyond what an Echo Fighter is supposed to be, as even with their differences, all echoes’ movesets are very clearly still attached to their base Fighters.

I'm pretty sure that writing is what has people shook. The mere thought of Toads screeching constantly and dabbing will leave some to wake up in a cold sweat.

Guys I honestly wouldn't worry about Illumination messing it up. Do you really think Nintendo wouldn't of lend the film rights to them in the first place. I'm sure of it they're gonna make sure they'll make the movie good.

Sakurai planned to do that, but changed his mind, and then Ultimate made clones trendy, but he still didn't put them in.

I still think their animation looks cheap and generic. Though that fits every other aspect of their films so there’s that.

I will say the Grinch is probably their best film yet, which doesn’t really mean much considering their lineup. I’d be more excited for an animated Mario movie of it was ANY other animation company other than Illumination.

My theory is similar to that, that the rhythm gimmick couldn't be made to work right. DK's Final Smash being unwieldly shows that to a degree.
