2012, the year New Play Control! Pikmin 2 came out in NA, after a several year wait from the "everywhere but NA" release in 2009.

That is literally the only game that came out in 2012 that I cared about. Edit: Somehow forgot about AC:NL

I missed page 2011, but it was also a terrible year for me. I was the target on an online smear and harassment campaign over something...really inconsequential in the long run. let's leave it at that, but it messed me up.

I did graduate college that year so there's that. Also, in 2012, I had my first jobs, but it took me a while to find a job again.

This was the year I first played Minecraft, having been introduced to it from my some really good friends of mine.

Five minutes in and I got hooked. I must've spent at least 85% of my weekend playing it. I barely even took the time to have dinner those days lol. I'm not the avid player of MC that I used to be, but I loved it at the time.

I still find it crazy how utterly widespread the idea that the world was going to end in 2012 was. Like, people have a lot of ideas about when the world is gonna end, but this and Y2K were the only times (I can think of, at least) where it was like a well-known idea.

I still find it crazy how utterly widespread the idea that the world was going to end in 2012 was. Like, people have a lot of ideas about when the world is gonna end, but this and Y2K were the only times (I can think of, at least) where it was like a well-known idea.

Y2K actually was a big deal though. Not world ending obviously, but there were legitimate technical concerns that companies worked ahead to prevent, hence why barely anything happened.
2012 was just some **** about the Mayan calendar that even actual Mayan people today said was bull****.
