Welp. There’s nothing like catching an eye full of Poké-**** on my timeline. Artists move at lightning speeds I swear.
As long as it doesn’t get posted here we should be fine...

Either way I got images in case this happens.

Discussion on Pokemon's difficulty reminds me of how people said Kirby Star Allies was super easy and had poor level design due to its simplicity...When all Kirby games are super easy and have simplistic level design. Especially Kirby 64, and that one's super loved.

I don't get it.:drwtf:

If I simply just heard that the games were called Pokémon Sword and Shield, I honestly would have expected crazy fan theories that concluded at Aegislash somehow being promoted to a legendary.

I think nostalgia is hitting some people here.

Only reason some people think the older games are hard is because they were young when they first started.

That and bad game design. Don't be borked like Johto.
tbh I don't think I've ever found any Pokemon game seriously difficult, even back in the day. It's just that recent ones feel effortless sometimes.
TBH I felt this way playing Kingdom Hearts 1 FM a while back.

Is the game actually hard, or just clunky? I feel like this kind of stuff crops up in video game difficulty discussions a lot.
I think KH1 actually has pretty decent combat at it's core, but it's way more limited compared to later games and hampered by cheesy bull**** sometimes. Mysterious Figure is a pretty good example, even if he is an optional boss. Feels like they just ported the Xemnas fights over from II without really taking KH1's speed or limited options into account.

TP review?

I am sorry if this annoys you.
I'm flattered, but like I said last time, it might be a couple weeks. I have a few more important writing projects on my plate right now that I'll need to be putting my time and energy into, but I'll get to it once I'm done with them.

Mangles the story, which was awesome in Sun and Moon.
So I've heard. The story was good in S/M, but I felt with some more time it would've been even better. Team Skull was almost totally wasted, and the Ultra Space was a letdown when it could've been something like the Distortion World from Platinum. The plot with Aether was also a little short, too. I hoped that Ultra S/M would've expanded on those things and refined them, but somehow it made them worse? How so?

The Mario and Luigi series fixed tutorials (which hit their peak in Dream Team) so I'm sure Pokemon could feasibly do the same. FR/LG seemed to have it right with the Teachy TV.

yeah but Kirby 64 is cool and it has a giant bleeding eyeball of death come back from its grave.

Star Allies is cool, too.

Kirby Star Allies took it to an extreme.

The bosses went down waaaay faster then in Robobot and Tripple Deluxe since they weren't given more HP to account for the fact that you'd have four characters whaling on them at once.

Levels were especially empty to give four players more room to move around, but that also makes for a much more barren single player experience.

What?

In Sun and Moon, Team Skull were awesome.

They aren't supposed to be huge villains, that's the point.

All fan bases have their weirdos. Just gotta ignore 'em.

As for pony...There are very specific words and fan terms you do not search. Ever.

What we need is a game that has no tutorials and just throws you into the action upon boot up.

Bonus points if the difficulty is set to “Impossible”

Older games also didn't have QoL changes such as:
-Physical/Special split
-Good moves or at least decent movesets
-Varied Pokemon availability
-Fairy type

They weren't hard in a fair way, they just didn't give you the tools necessary to have a fair fight.

Lusamine, a radical villain, was neutered. They changed her entire motivation, making her dynamic with Lillie and Gladion all wonky.

I think we learned not to expect anything after Lunatone and Solrock got absolutely nothing in Sun and Moon. Maybe the Honedge line will be in the regional dex. That's it.

Easy for you to say. I can't even look up the Loud House without running into any of it especially on Google Images.

I mostly see them drawn with ears on their head and normal human ears and yeah, its hella weird. or the artist cheats and had the hair covering up what the human ears would be

Not to mention those frozen pokemon she had on decoration in her living space.

That was one of the most messed up things I've seen in a Pokemon game and USUM brushed it off and went "no she's not crazy she's just an anti-hero".

TBH the LG games only have some moments of challenge (assuming you avoid using the partner Pokemon like I did) because they lack a lot of this stuff.

Also, move pools in LG were suuuuuper bad. You had special 'Mons that wouldn't learn useful special moves until practically the Elite 4. It was dumb.

Star Allies launched as a very lacking full-priced game, but now that it's actually been finished, it's actually really great. Anybody who hasn't touched it since some time after launch is doing themselves a disservice by not revisiting it. It's now a proper Kirby experience and in my personal opinion up there with its recent predecessors. Better late than never~!

What?

In Sun and Moon, Team Skull were awesome.

They aren't supposed to be huge villains, that's the point.
I know they're not supposed to be huge villains. I wasn't expecting them to try and take over the world or anything. But they didn't really do anything notable throughout the entire story, until Po Town, after which they're overshadowed and Aether is revealed to be the villains, but Aether didn't get nearly as much screentime so it the transition is very awkward. And then Team Skull just kind of fizzles out and vanishes, and Aether is dealt with in just one segment, and then the game's plot basically ends.

Compared to the pacing and story progression of the previous games, it's handled very awkwardly. Almost nothing happens throughout the entire game until Lillie is kidnapped, and then things start popping off, but only for a short while before it's all over with.

Which is why I was hoping that Ultra S/M would expand both their roles a bit more. There's a lot of "empty" time in Sun/Moon where nothing much is happening, and there could've been some more time devoted to both Skull and Aether to help with the pacing of the story.

Lusamine, a radical villain, was neutered. They changed her entire motivation, making her dynamic with Lillie and Gladion all wonky.
Wow, really? What's her new motivation?

kinda don't want to support the whole "release a meh game now and we'll fix it later" philosophy

Alright guys, I got another Quickplay update.

Except I wanna make a little game out of it...

There are 2 characters that I'm currently playing, one has a GSP of 3.84 million and the other has 3.5 million.
*Note: I've played these characters enough online where the GSP increase/decreases at a normal/standard rate

I want you guys to guess which 2 characters I'm referring to.

But there are 2 little things to keep in mind:
- I've never mentioned playing either of these characters before
- Neither of them are in my signature

If I get the 3.84 million GSP character into Elite (which is about 2 wins away), I'll reveal both characters... or after enough failed attempts, whichever comes first.

Good luck.
All right, I ****ing give up.

@ShotoStar @AnyoneElseWhoGivesA****

The 2 characters were Toon Link and Isabelle, with the former being the 3.84 million GSP.

I managed to get Toon Link all the way up to 3.9 million GSP. I was one win away from getting him into Elite.
*And I know this b/c one more win would have put him over Ridley's GSP, which is in Elite.

And then I went on a 7-game losing streak... and lost half a ****ing million GSP.

I'm ****ing done.

Wow, really? What's her new motivation?
Something about wanting to save the world because she fancies herself a hero, but really she's stroking her ego? But she also does really care? It's been two years and I still don't completely follow.
