How d'you figure a command dash is comparable to a teleport for mix-ups? Lol
Depends on what you can do with the command dash. El Fuerte, for example, has several potential followups from his run, but a dash that can only go in three directions does not have as much potential.

Zero can teleport, but his isn't as fast as Phoenix's. He also lacks traps and homing projectiles. I fail to see how Phoenix has an inferior mix-up game when she has more tools to punish and stop approaches.
Then wouldn't you just say Phoenix had mad zoning skills?

The thing is, she's also good at rushdown. It balances out. If she didn't have the worst health and defense in the game, she'd be up there in tiers. Hell, she probably still is.

Teleport>Dash
Zero's Command Dash is soo good. It may not be as good as teleports, but it's still pretty damn potent.

Because you can use Zero's Cmd dash almost in the same way as you can a teleport, and even then, his Cmd dash can move in a way teleports could only wish.

Zero can't teleport lolll. Also traps and homing projectiles? Those are for zoning. Why? They all hit medium, and teleporting in air keeps phoenix in air, which makes her aerials count as overheads. I mean, she has the fly/float glitch that gives her an insane mix up, but her overall mix up game isnt better than Zero's who can more steadily throw out highs and lows with command dash. I mean ****, zero can willingly chose to change what side of his H htibox will hit you, making it an amazing tool to get in, espec from H Cmd Dash.

I never put my Phoenix out until I have my five bars. Ever. Way too risky. I'd rather play it safe and run away/build meter with the rest of my team. Which doesn't actually take that long.

Then it's party time.

I have the 360 version. So it is a shame. :V

If you're going to genesis 2, that would be a good time to see who has better mix ups.

on a completely different note, anyone see that team of Trish/Morr/Phoenix from Fight Night XIV? that or WNF.

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaad gay.

I'd say Zero is close to Phoenix in the mixups department if he has a good assist like Sentinel backing him up.
Without an assist, his mixups are still good but pushblock hurts him really bad.

Salt's health nerf was the cleanest way they could of nerfed Saltinel.

A damage nerf would not of helped the game in anyway lol. It would of just dragged matches with mr. hyper sodium force on even more.
I used to think the health nerf was a bit much but ok, but now I find it stupid. It didn't address any of the problems with Sentinel. Sentinel's problem wasn't about lots of timeouts, it was about dealing way too much damage. I think they should buff his health a bit but lower his damage a little and he'd be fine. But I really don't want to see another patch so soon.

Um... yeah lol. Phoenix's projectiles and traps help her so much. It's like not needing an assist to cover her mixups.
And obviously you don't know how to play Phoenix since you can teleport from the air to the ground. Phoenix can even do her standing overhead after that or combo into it. Zero has nice high low combos, but he has to commit to high attacks from the start of his blockstring.

Zero's Hard attack with H command dash is way more obvious than Phoenix's projectiles/traps to teleports, IMO.
Plus Zero can only do that up close anyways while Phoenix can do her mixups anywhere.

Pushblock doesn't hurt him as bad as you'd think with his command dash.

He can get right back up in your face after pushblock with a M command dash.

I didn't say the problem with sent was time outs. I said that lowing his damage aids to how strong timing out is. I'd rather see too much damage than not enough.

I don't need to play phoenix in order to know how she works. Learning how characters work in traditional fighters is mad simple. Also, she only teleports directly to the ground when she's not in flight mode. I neglected to say that in my previous post, so that's my bad. But when she's in flight mode, she stays in flight mode when she teleports.

And Zero doesn't have to commit to his normals since he can command dash out of everything and stay maaad safe.

Yeah Zero can only do his stuff close, because that's how he's designed. But they're still more potent imo.

Yeah, that's true. I guess the only reason I like teleports a lot more is due to facing projectile characters or strong anti-air assists. It's an easy hassle-free get in almost.

Oh, I actually didn't know about that. Phoenix players that I've faced don't usually stay in flight mode and then teleport, but I guess that's useful for me to know just in case a Phoenix player tries to trick me with that.

But, between both character's mixups, I do like Zero's a lot more. When paired up with Sent, Zero's pretty good at opening up a character's defenses. Mixing it up is way too fun with an air dash, command dash, feint, and Raikousen while drones are going.

Not to put down Zero's Command dash, because it is really good (When I played him before, that is). Phoenix's teleport is just so stupidly fast and the places it goes are too good.

I'm more of a reset guy myself.

There is this insane exploit/glitch/feature with Phoenix where she can go instantly into a crouching low from flight mode teleport.

That **** is insaneeee.

@Yars: Yeah it's really fast, but it's way easier to punish than Zero's command dash, which is almost punishable when you use it right.

Too bad Dorm, can just M, and Cr.M his voomerangs. Plus He could just Chaotic flame everything that you whiff.

Edit as far as Zero vs Phoenix in the mix up department. Zero needs an assist. Phoenix Can just spam projectile that hom and Teleport. You guys are Arguing about a (Very common) Point character vs An (I'm afraid Im gonna lose) Anchor .

i can't take online fighters seriously PTZR.

I'd rather play in person. :/

Zero doesn't NEED an assist for cross ups. They're more like...recommended.

I've made up my mind:

I'm signing up for the GameBattles ladder, leading with Phoenix on point. This is probably suicide.

Live long and proceed to beat the crap out of those who underestimate you.

May as well prosper, too.
Thou hast earned points of the brownie for thy welcomed reference to the Trekking of the Stars. Maybe I should start using that "Space Voyager" title for Phoenix.

So, apparently, I have to create a team to participate in the GameBattles singles ladder. Anyone else interested in doing it? Also, for anyone already registered, you can get at my profile here.

Nah, I just called it "Phoenix Force" because I assumed I'd be the only one bothering with it. Which is probably going to wind up being true, but whatever. It gives way to having a badass tagline like the one on the page right now.

After talking with Louisiana's best SF player, it made me think whether I want to continue playing Marvel. I'm wondering if I should stick with Team S.T.A.R.S. Jill has the potential to be the mind **** character for me in Marvel. The problem is that this game isn't a 1 on 1 fighter so this'll be tough to test. After freaking him out in SF, I need to try to apply this to Marvel if I'm to continue playing this.

After finding out what Bang's floating seals do, I might get into BlazBlue again.

Been messing around a bunch with MODOK after playing more at my friend's place. I've been really loving him a ton, and he does surprisingly a great amount of damage on his combos. He can actually rush down, and it's funny when he starts to do that and the opponent is like "WTF rushdown MODOK"

I'm still rocking 50sent as well. **** the health nerf. I like Sentinel because I love his playstyle, not because I used him as a crutch to win.

The only time I've watched BlazBlue videos extensively was Platinum matches.

Nah, ranked ladder matches with playoffs at the end of the season. Sort of like All is Brawl's set-up, but it's done by MLG.
