Lots of good options although I'm hardly familiar with the lot. I'm just going based on what I think makes sense to be added.

I'd like to put in my 2 cents regarding another stage for Terry.

As it's fairly obvious, the King of Fighters stadium does more of a proper job representing the King of Fighters series rather than Fatal Fury, the series where Terry originated from. If another stage for Terry ever comes to pass, It would obviously make more sense to include an actual stage from Fatal Fury. There are some notable stages we can choose from, the ones that are most deserving in my opinion are....

  • West Albuquerque, U.S.A.: Probably the most iconic stage from Fatal Fury. It's Terry's stage from Fatal Fury 2 and Fatal Fury Special. It even got used as the background for Terry's Spirit Board.

  • Mittelgebilde, Germany: The homestage of the antagonist of Fatal Fury 2 and Geese's half-brother, Wolfgang Krauser. While definitely not the first stage from Fatal Fury many people think of when discussing the possibility of a Fatal Fury stage in Smash, it's nonetheless still quite iconic. A stage that contains one of the earliest forms of diegetic displays of music in videogames. We could include a gimmick relating to the orchestra in the background, who are actually the ones playing Krauser's theme (Dies Irae, originally from Mozart) within the context of this stage.

  • Geese's Tower: One of the stages that I'm the most fan of when discussing them for Smash, but that's probably because it doesn't include an actual irl location in its name lol. A version of this stage made it in Tekken 7 along with Geese himself. Where Geese appears outside of KOF, this stage appears alongside him. We'll probably have to do the same what Tekken did and include our own take on the stage as there have been many variations of it in the Fatal Fury series. Some of these variations you can see here in the spoiler.

GeeseTower_FFS.png

Rbffsgeesebg.gif

GeeseTower_RBFF2-Geese.png

  • The Freight Express: My favorite stage from the entire series. The Freight Express is Terry's stage from Garou: Mark of the Wolves. This stage features two variations, and trying to incorporate both of them would be neat. I've been entertaining myself with the idea of a travelling stage, with the incorporation of in-game time, where the Freight Express takes the players to several locales in the background featured in Garou; such as Sarah Forest during the daytime, Barbaroi Falls during sunset, either Blue Wave Harbor or Live House Line during nighttime, and ultimately ending up at the 2nd version of The Freight Express stage which is the station you can see below in the spoiler, which would reset the stage back at sunrise with the beautiful ocean behind it shortly after. This stage is a damn mood and I'm all there for it.

A proper Fatal Fury stage would also be quite handy for if we end up including a proper King of Fighters representative somewhere down the line. As the KOF Stadium could serve as their homestage instead and this proper Fatal Fury stage would work as Terry's. And hey, if we don't, still having two separate stages representing KOF (which is basically just SNK Smash Bros.) and Fatal Fury is still hella neat. Because at the end of the day, Fatal Fury and the King of Fighters are 2 wildly different series and incorporating an actual stage for Terry would reinforce that fact for people that might not be aware.

Also more Fatal Fury tracks, hell yeah, hahah.

Out of all of the possible stages from the Ultimate DLC....

Dragon Quest’s Patty's Party Planning Place

This is where players form their parties and would also be quite unique to have a tavern-type stage.

While I agree that Mementos reps Persona really well, the fact we've never gotten a Casino stage for Sonic would allow us to squeeze in by far the most iconic location and dungeon in P5, the Casino of Envy.

A unique locale type, the possibilities of the stage itself, The Whims of Fate playing in the background - I mean, it's a perfect fit. Was honestly hoping it would've been Joker's stage before he came out

I personally think a Dragon Quest stage is entirely warranted given how big the series is. Though seeing how disconnected most games are it's hard to really pinpoint an exact location for it. I'd rather want to focus on the original Erdrick trilogy as it's the most iconic (I'm saying this as someone who's favorite Dragon Quest is 5), I'd totally be down for Tantegel Castle or Alefgard in general. The hardest part will just be making it stand out in comparison to Yggdrasil's Altar or heck, even other grassy/green stages in general.

As for Persona, seeing as how young the series is and purely basing only on the fact that it's just a spinoff, I don't think a 2nd stage is entirely needed as Mementos does representing the series alright I suppose. I entirely agree with Adrianette Bromide Adrianette Bromide on the fact that we need Mementos Variations for Persona 1 and 2 though, still a bit salty that we didn't get those in the first place.

I'd rather see an actual Shin Megami Tensei stage in at that point but I have no clue if that would count for an eventual Persona stage prompt. But if it is, some SMT locations that come to mind are the Vortex World from Nocturne or Purgatorium from Shin Megami Tensei IV.

So we will be gearing up for our next stage submission job within the next 10 hours; once we conclude with voting for our third party second stage. We also will be including the Gyromite stage which will appear similar to that of the Duck Hunt stage where it has the retro appearance but still a Smash-like stage.

This next job will be important as it will compose a good majority of our stage roster for the game and will help flesh out our franchises. Previously, Smash 4 included new stages for almost every franchise hit Ultimate only included a few. We aim to shoot in-between that by including several stages based on both recent and past games. For now though, we will focus on the modern games.

Here’s how we will be doing in:
  • We will be providing a list of franchises that contains games that were released during the Wii U/3DS, and Switch lifespans.
  • You are free to submit an undetermined number of stages based on the list of games.
  • If we don’t get any submissions for that franchise/game, we will then do a submission round at another date focuses on stages from past games.
  • Due to the sheer number of Mario games, we will be having a separate submission round for Mario stages from recently titles.
  • Following these jobs, we will finally be including stages that represents a franchise that’s not repped by a fighter. This could be a potential chance to deconfirm characters.
With this in mind, we will be stopping the third party stage discussion. Based on the results, it seems that most people agree that Minecraft, B-K, and potentially Persona do not need an extra stage. Generally feelings seem to point to including a Dragon Quest III stage or a Fatal Fury-centric stage which may be a route we go at a later date.

We appreciated all of the viewpoints and the time people took to discuss it. We will now move onto our next discussion which will focus on what I mentioned earlier...

Discussion #6: What Wii U/3DS/Switch Games can we pull Stages from? What games could we pull from that contributes to a preexisting franchise? How about ones that would represent a new series? Finally, which stages could deconfirm a fighter?

Basically, the prompt says it all. We would appreciate people suggesting what games we could look to to pull stage submissions from to expand our current stage roster so that we have something more akin to Smash 4. Currently, the first-party franchises without stages are (ones that warrant a stage, not including retro based ones):
  1. The Legend of Zelda
  2. Donkey Kong
  3. Yoshi
  4. Metroid
  5. Star Fox
  6. Earthbound/MOTHER
  7. F-Zero
  8. Fire Emblem
  9. Kid Icarus
  10. Wario
  11. Pikmin
  12. Wii Fit
  13. Punch-Out!!
  14. Xenoblade Chronicles
  15. ARMS
Obviously not every franchise will get a new stage; either based on a new game or a past game but hopefully our next job will help decide which one we will give a stage to. Which franchises can we pull a stage from a newer game from Wii U to the Switch? What franchises could we look to the past for stage inspiration; like Great Cave Offensive?

It’s important to plan well because there is a chance that we would include a fighter from one of these franchises in the future so would it feel weird to include the stage in this montage but not in their reveal trailer at a later date? I want us to explore this possible situation and how to mitigate it.

Finally, what stages could we possibly include from modern games that doesn’t have a rep fighter yet. Could we go the route of deconfirming a popular character and include a stage instead?

So only two of the four Fire Emble stages are based on actual areas from the games, only one of them where you even fight people. I'm no FE nerd but are there any iconic locations that could be used for a stage actually based on a game? O guess if you wanted to be cheeky you could do something fron TMS but that's hardly related to FE. I was thinking a retro inspired stage like Duck Hunt that took place on a 16-bit styled GBA map from one of the older games.

I'm fine with the idea of deconfirming people. Like I've been saying, we really do need to not save everyone for DLC. That would at least make these a little more interesting too since I'm not overly exciting about submitting a crap ton of stages.

Of the recently released (Wii U, 3DS, Switch) FE games I think Shadows of Valentia would be nice to have a stage from. Granted I never played it but surely someone in this thread might have. It could be a representative of both the modern era of Fire Emblem, as well as the classic era (as it is a remake of Gaiden). The other recent mainline title without a stage so far is Fates and I also don't know too much about it. Because of the importance of Three Houses and Awakening, it is possible we could pull more stages from there too (the final level of Crimson Flower is my personal favorite) but the question is why would we when there's so much other games to represent.

There are also spinoffs like Tokyo Mirage Sessions and Warriors, but I didn't bother with those so

-

ARMS has a plethora of stages that would be interesting to fight on. Snake Park (Skate Park? I don't remember) is one of my favorites, as its gimmick is super fun and mixes up the gameplay of ARMS quite well. I'm not sure how it could translate to Smash. There is also Ramen Bowl, Min Min's home stage which has a nice curve to it, which could also be interesting. Granted I only played the free version of ARMS so if anyone knows more than me feel free

-

Xenoblade Chronicles X (though I want another Xeno series character) would also have a pretty cool stage

Forgot to vote.

Now an actual Wario Land stage be WAAAAnderful!!! Shake It! lends itself to some nice graphics and is where Wario's victory theme (which fyi was original) ended up being used. Wario Land 4 has some iconic imagery within the pyramid.

Of the series listed, the only one I really actively want is a new Donkey Kong stage. Jungle Hijinx got cut between Smash 4 and Ultimate, so we could use a modern Donkey Kong stage. I also presume will be including Funky or Dixie (later down the line), so they could use a new stage with their inclusion. Tropical Freeze has so many beautiful levels that it would really be a shame not to include a stage from that game.

I have plenty of stages in mind for some of these series. Expect DK, Star Fox, and Yoshi stages at minimum (those stages being "DK Rap Studio", "Corneria FX" and "Prince Froggy's Belly")

Mother and Splatoon spirits will be closing tomorrow, so get in any final submissions you may have. Also, While I did include Porky as a spirit, that does not disconfirm as a fighter nor a boss for future submissions.

The reasons for why I chose these to include are relatively simple. Porky and Porky in mech are pretty self explanatory as he is perhaps the most discussed spirit omission. I also included the King Statue as it was prominent in Brawl. New Age Retro Hippie was a sticker in Brawl, and Devil Car was both a sticker in Brawl and a smash run enemy. Final Starman is on the cover art of Earthbound, so I figure it warrants an inclusion. Baby Drago is on Lucas's shirt in one of his alts, so with a presence in smash already it makes sense for it to be made into a spirit. Mecha Drago is a boss in Mother 3 which makes for an easy summonable spirit and has plot relevance, as it kills hinawa, so I also decided to include it.

I'm not very familiar with the mother series which is why I mainly selected ones that already had some presence in smash, with the exception of the Mecha Drago which I found on the Baby Drago wiki page and thought it warranted a spirit.

Clock Tower
Job #112: Clock Tower

View attachment 317162

This stage, while also taking place in Dracula's Castle, would take more from Symphony of the Night. I think this stage would be cool because much of Castlevania in Smash focuses on its classic gameplay style. The stage represents the final boss arena of CV1 although its appearance is consistent throughout the series and its fighters are both from Classicvania as well. This is totally not propaganda to maybe hint hint wink wink at Alucard becoming a fighter.

The stage would take place on the gear as if it was laid down flat. In the background, several gears can be seen twisting and turning. There is also two solid stone platforms portruding from the wall and a semisolid platform in the middle where at least one player can stand on to avoid the gear's spinning.

It looks something like this.
__ ____ __

____________

Occasionally, the gear the stage takes place on will start spinning. During this event, attempting to grab the ledge will instantly send you off. However, you will regain all of your jumps and movement options. Additionally, depending on whst direction the gear spins, players on the ground will be slid in that direction. The spinning will be foretold by the gear shaking. Several Medusa Heads will also attack the players from time to time by floating along the stage in a squiggly line pattern.

There's one more gimmick you should be aware of... If you select the stage while holding L, the stage will instead become...

Job #112.5: Inverted Clock Tower

The stage functions similarly to the regular variant with the Medusa Heads. However, the entire stage will be upside down! The stone platforms from before will act as the main ground now while the gear on top will act as a ceiling. If the ceiling is touched while the gear is spinning, you will take a colossal amount of damage and be spiked straight down.

Omega/Battlefield: The stage on Omega will resemble a gear with stalagtites hanging from the bottom and the platforms will resemble the stone platform in the center from the normal stage.
Central Highway
Because classic series Mega Man games generally start with the stage select screen, it made sense for its Smash 4 stage to be Wily's Castle. Because there isn't really an opening level that every Mega Man fan can identify with.
But Mega Man X does have something like that.
JOB 112: Central Highway (Mega Man X)

Central Highway, as it is most often referred to, is one of the most popular opening levels in gaming history, up there with Green Hill Zone and World 1-1. It is the first level of Mega Man X, one of the greatest and most beloved platformers ever released on the SNES. Central Highway sees our main character, Mega Man X, as he runs through the Central Highway, trying to save the city from an invasion of Mavericks-robots that have betrayed humanity. At the end, X loses in a battle with one of the main villains, Vile, before being saved by a charged shot from his best friend and partner, Zero. From there, the level ends and you choose from one of eight levels as you would in most other Mega Man games.

The layout is fairly similar to what's seen around the 4:09 mark of the below video.
There is a stretch of raised highway that is about a battlefield and a quarter long. And about 1/2 of said highway is slightly sloped to the left. Blastzones are pretty standard and it is possible to walljump on the pillars that support the road-though you cannot camp here forever. There are also two street lamps, one in the foreground of the stage on the right (the non-sloped part), and the other in the background of the stage on the left (the sloped part).

But it wouldn't be Central Highway without some bees.

Occasionally, the Bee Blader will appear to wreck havoc. It will fly in from the left or right side of the stage, and once it reaches the highway, it will stop in place and begin performing a set of a few actions at complete random. It can do multiple of these things at once, all of them at once, or simply choose not to do anything for a minute. It will, however, perpetually hover up and down.
Move forward: Just what it sounds like. The Bee Blader moves forward for a few frames before stopping again.
Bullets: The Bee Blader splashes bullets in front of him at a downward angle. It's pretty easy to avoid, but if you're hit, you'll be trapped in for 5 seconds while you are dealt 1% DPS. After which you are launched forwards, but never far enough to kill.
Missiles: The Bee Blader fires a homing missile that homes in on whoever was nearest when the move was activated. These missiles deal 8% and can kill opponents, but not until they are in the 130-160 range.
The Bee Blader has slightly more health than the Yellow Devil did in Smash Ultimate. When defeated, the Bee Blader will explode similarly to the Yellow Devil, but in a more realistic fashion. The explosion does major damage and knockback to anyone nearby, except for the player who landed the final hit.
The Bee Blader will not appear if stage hazards are disabled.

This stage has 10 cameos in total, all characters from the Mega Man X series. When the stage starts, there are no cameos-however, throughout the match the characters will teleport into the background of the stage to watch the battle. Sometimes they will also teleport away and, over time, new characters take their places. This is mostly random, but characters like X and Zero have the most priority of appearing.

Warning, minor spoilers ahead for X4. Skip Iris and Colonel if you don't want those.
X

The greatest creation of Doctor Light and main character of his series, Mega Man X (or just X) is a Maverick Hunter who fights for peace, though he wishes there were a more peaceful way of protecting both humans and reploids. After teleportation in, X will stand with his hands on his hips and watch with a smile on his face. If a KO is made, X will raise his fist to the air in celebration.

Zero

The greatest creation of Doctor Wily and partner of Mega Man X, Zero is also a Maverick Hunter who fights for peace-though he is more quick to act than X and doesn't spend as much time wishing for a peaceful solution to the war between reploids and mavericks. Zero will stand with his back to the camera, so we get full view of his glorious ponytail. When a KO is made, Zero shows a thumbs up to his opponent.
Axl

The junior Maverick Hunter with the ability to copy the appearance of others, Axl fights with X and Zero to stop Sigma dead in his tracks. Axl will bob from left to right in place, as if imitating a fighting game character, with his guns at the ready. When a KO is made, Axl spins his weapons with his fingers before striking a flashy pose.
Iris

Brother of Colonel and former love interest of Zero, Iris is a member of Repliforce who is unfortunately lost in the Final Weapon incident. Iris will hold her hands behind her and watch the battle with great interest. When a KO is made, Iris brings her hands around from her back to reveal a purple crystal-which she will then toss up into the air before catching it and putting it back behind her. She looks very energetic when doing so.
Colonel

Brother of Iris and one of the two leaders of Repliforce, Colonel is the one who leads the Repliforce to leave Earth, in hopes of living their lives without the humans, and without harming them-but due to seeds of rebellion in the repliforce planted by guess-who, Colonel must be defeated by X (or Zero) in order to stop the Final Weapon from firing at Earth. Colonel will look ahead with not much visible emotion, arms down at his sides. He will politely clap whenever a KO is made.
Alia

The CEO of stopping X dead in his tracks to feed him useless information through his earpiece, Alia is the Navigator of the Maverick Hunters who "helps" by letting X know what's going on in any given situation. Alia will be talking to someone on her earpiece, occupied with something else and not focusing on the match at all-but when a KO is scored, she'll seemingly say "hold on" to them before waving and smiling at the screen.
Douglas

The strangely handsome Douglas is the mechanic of the Maverick Hunters, who proved instrumental during the Eurasia colony incident. Douglas will stand casually and hold a wrench, occasionally tossing it slightly up and making it spin before catching it again. If a KO is made, Douglas reaches his non-wrench fist up, then pulls it back in excitement.
Signas

Signas, the leader of the Maverick Hunters, is the impressive strategist behind all of X's most dangerous missions. Signas will hold his chin up with his hand and simply observe the fight, occasionally nodding. When a KO is scored, he'll smile-this is the most subtle victory animation of the X cameos, but make no mistake-Signas truly appreciated that awesome play you just made.
Sigma

Sigma was once the leader of the Maverick Hunters, but once the Maverick Virus manifested itself inside his body, Sigma felt the need to eradicate humans to make a perfect world for reploids. He now leads the Mavericks and fights with X and Zero every Tuesday whenever he's up to no good. Sigma will cross his arms around his chest, looking stern. When a KO is made, he throws back his head and laughs, as if to say "lol should've teched"
Vile

Vile is a maverick who works directly with Sigma, who has a lust for destruction and a kink for reincarnation. Vile will stand in place with determination, very much ready for action, with his knee blaster and shoulder canon locked and loaded. When a KO is made, he actually stomps the ground with his feet-Vile lives for destruction, but he'd rather take part in it himself than watch others have all the fun.

When teleportation in, the hero characters (anyone but Vile and Sigma) will teleport in classic Mega Man fashion. However, Vile and Sigma will have two after-images of their character model warp in, combining to form one image, before they themselves appear where that image is.

The Battlefield form of the stage will feature green concrete platforms like the ones seen in the highway of the normal stage. The ground is also made up of the same material as that. Both versions place the stage higher above the ground, to give you an incredible view of the destruction that Sigma's army has caused.
Cameos will appear no matter what version of the stage you're playing on.

Why a Mega Man X stage?
Mega Man is one of the most influential gaming series of all time, and the classic games are just the tip of the iceberg. The X series, especially the first game, is remembered fondly by just about anyone who had a Super Nintendo back in the day. Not just remembered fondly, either-Mega Man X still holds up as one of the greatest sidescrolling 2D platformers of all time.

Why Central Highway?
Central Highway marks the very first level of the franchise, and with its unforgettable soundtrack, incredible tutorial to X's abilities, and great story setup, Central Highway is just the most iconic and arguably most important location in the Mega Man X series. Heck, they even brought it back in X7 because people loved it so dang much.

Why didn't you use the modern designs of Alia and Iris?

No but seriously, those designs are fine but I feel the original designs represent them much better.
Shopping District
No prob!

View attachment 317189Shopping District, Taiping Road
Or simply Shopping District

Yet another iconic Street Fighter stage to accompany Suzaku Castle. This one belongs to the Chinese martial artist, Chun-Li. While Battle Harbor would make sense for Ken Masters, Shopping District is the more iconic stage but also brings an unique flair: a oriental Chinese aspect that is missing in Smash. We don’t have many stages like this but Battle Harbor would be a bit like Delfino Plaza in some regards. Air Force Base or a Shadoloo Base...or even Sagat’s base (forgot the name but the reclining statue stage) would be potential picks.

The stage would take a similar aspect from King of Fighter’s Stadium minus the sidewalls so it would have walk-off blast zones. There would be a secondary platform composed of the awnings found in the district’s shops.

Certain items found in the stage, like Suzaku Castle, can be destroyed. This includes signs, lampposts, the barbershop sign, and laundry line. Cameos would be limited to the characters found in the original stage. The stage would replicate the entire feeling of the SFII stage but remakes it in the typical Smash fashion so it wouldn’t be a Mute City/Balloon Fight situation.

The Battlefield/Final Destination versions consists of an earthen floating platform with the buildings in the background set against the far background. (Sunset sky and mountains)

Now, the elephant in the room...will Smash include the chicken strangle? No, it won’t. It will Include the caged chicken but hitting the cage will free the lucky chicken so it can escape. Replacing the man who is strangling the chicken would be a man who is checking the cage. Releasing the chicken surprises the man.
----

So now that's out of the way, we'll keep discussion #6 open for a short while. Shortly after we'll start the next job prompt which is yet again stage-related!

Job #113: Submit a Stage for the following Franchises that comes from a Modern Game

This will be our last stage submission round and will cap off our stage roster segment for the April Smash Direct but we will still be submitting stages during development later on. Traditionally, Smash included stages that comes from newer games for Smash franchises. This included Great Bay for Melee, Smashville and Delfino Plaza for Brawl, Skyloft, Windy Hill Zone, and Forest of Hope for Smash 4, and finally New Donk City and Moray Towers. Infinite is no exception as we included stages from Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion, Miitopia, and Galar Wild Area. We will be submitting stages from past games on a later date but for now, the focus in new games and to expand our current roster.

How to Submit

You may submit up to 3 stages but each submissions must be from a different franchise category. You can't make three Mario submissions. Finally, we will also be submitting a first/third-party Wii U/Switch stage as a fourth submission. You must at least have to submit one stage from the first party franchise (Part 1) and the first/third party non-franchise (Part 2) thus totaling to 2 submissions total. If you intend to submit the whole gambit, that is fourth submissions total (3 for Part 1, and one for part 2)

PART 1: First-PARTY Franchise STAGES

Submit a Mario Stage

There has been a slew of Mario games released over the past years and so we will be adding a new stage from one of these games. These are:
  • Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury
  • Paper Mario: Origami King
  • Mario Tennis Axes
  • Mario Golf: Super Rush
  • Captain Toad Treasure Tracker
  • Super Mario Party
Submit a Donkey Kong Stage

We will be accepting submissions for stages based on the Wii U/Switch port game, Tropical Freeze

Submit a Kirby Stage

We will be accepting stages from Kirby: Planet Robobot and Kirby Fighter's 2

Submit a Yoshi Stage

We will be accepting stages based on Yoshi's Crafted World

Submit a Metroid Stage

We will be accepting stages based on Metroid: Samus Returns

Submit a Legend of Zelda Stage

We will be accepting stages based on the Link's Awakening Remake and Age of Calamity

Submit a Star Fox Stage

We will be accepting stages based on Star Fox Zero

Submit a Fire Emblem Stage

We will be accepting stages based on Shadows of Valentia, Fire Emblem Fates, and Fire Emblem Warriors

Submit a Pikmin Stage

We will be accepting stages from Hey! Pikmin!

Submit a Xenoblade Stage

We will be accepting stages from Xenoblade Chronicles X and Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition.

Part 2: Wii U/3DS/Switch Games that's not Repped by a Fighter

We will be including submissions from first/third party games that's currently not repped by a fighter. This submission is not only to deconfirm fighters but to also expand our roster. Here are the list of qualifiable games:. Please only submit one:
Dillon's Rolling Western (either 1 or 2)
Fatal Frame: Maioden of Black Water
Pushmo World
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle
Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone
Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon or Ritual of the Night
BoxBoy! + Box-Girl!
Chibi-Robo

To reiterate, you can submit at least two (1 submission for Part 1) and (1 for Part 2) with a max of 4 submissions (3 for Part 1) and (1 for Part 2). They have to be from the games listed under each franchise for Part 1 and from the list provided in Part 2.

New Stage 1st Party
SM3D_6-3Stamp2.jpg

Hands on Hall
The quintessential 3D World Stage, this stage is separated in two segments, the upper rooftop area and the sliding doors covering the foreground of the bottom part

The upper rooftop is mostly flat with a slight curve in the middle (like the rooftops in the picture)

Meanwhile the bottom portion is unique as the areas behind the sliding doors are mon existant, meaning that traveling to the segments with be nothing but air, periodically the doors reveal themselves randomly choosing a few obstacles, including semi solid platforms, platforms that have spikes pop out of it, goomba enemies, and a room full of items, their are 4 of these doors giving a dynamic fight

New Stage 3rd Party

worldtop610.jpg

Pushmo World

Based on the Pushmo franchise, rather than being a static stage, this stage is randomly generated like mario maker and will become bigger to accommodate more fighters

The stage starts out on a flat cloud platform as when pushmo blocks arnt pushed out, this cloud will disappear as the first pushmo block will glow and extend out becoming the new platform, this will periodically change as other pushmo blocks will push out replacing the previous sets, making it a mad dash to the next platform before you lose yours
(Think of it like the beep blocks from mario)

Additionally there is a chance the next block would be a Stretchmo block, meaning the block will begin to stretch out and extend horizontally, sometimes these blocks will be broken by a Crashmo block later down the fight, changing the structure of the arena, making it very dynamic

An Easter egg occurs when character originating from NES games press a certain button combination causing the stage to resemble a 8 bit sprite of the the character doing the code, these vartions dont do Stretchmo and Crashmo obstacles, only the standard pushmo blocks.

Part 1
Windmill Hills (DKC: Tropical Freeze)

A relatively simple stage - the wooden base platform is in the middle, while soft platforms rotate on a windmill around the base platform. Simple but chaotic concept for a casual stage. Pointy Tucks and Fish Poker Pops occasionally appear on the stage, but Rambi will chase them off.
tropical stage.png

Bonny Greens (Mario Golf: Super Rush)

1622583183328.jpeg

Bonny Greens' layout is simple, but its gimmick is not. It's a plain walk-off stage with a hole in the middle, as you're the size of a golf ball and fighting around the hole. However, you can exclusively KO through that hole and any other KO will just wrap around the screen. On Stock, Coin (should we include it) or Stamina this is a very simple stage even with that gimmick, but on timed mode a whole new gimmick is added: golf scoring.

The less damage a fighter takes before getting thrown into the hole, the more points will be taken from them. A hole-in-one (0-15%) takes 5 points, a Condor (16-25%) takes 4, an Albatross (26-40%) takes 3, an Eagle (41-70%) takes 2, and a Birdie (71%+) takes 1. How many stocks have been taken is signified by the said bird name coming out of the hole in the KO'd fighter's colour.

This scoring system goes both ways - so if you KO a foe as a hole-in-one you'll also gain 5 points

Part 2

Time Washing Machine (Mario + Rabbids)

this stage is somewhat similar to Poké Floats. There is a single Rabbid spinning around in the time washing machine who is used as your platform. Spawny is also in the time washing machine with them and will zap them into different poses and outfits from the Mario + Rabbids game - though those outfits do not include hats so they don't mess with ear collisions.
rabbpose.png

Some crude examples of poses.

The Rabbid's face is animated and it will frequently scream - attacking on different areas will elicit different responses - with a small "blah!" if you hit it in the ears or arms, but if you hit it in the head or belly it will go "Dargh!" and the crotch or butt will be greeted with a pained "DAAAAAAA!"

The Omega form is a Rabbid warped into the shape of the platform, and still emotes like on the regular version of the stage - but doesn't scream, while the top soft platform on Battlefield resembles Beep-O and the bottom 2 resemble Battlefield Lylat's platforms as folded ears.

EDIT: Disregard my Party question, I have a better Mario stage idea, which has been added now.

Since I can do a maximum of 3 1st party submission I would put in this stage as well

Juicy Jungle
The fifth world in the game and possibly the objectively best world in the game due to the iconic levels and famous boss fight, this stage is both a jungle stage a factory stage and acts as a signature successor to tropical hyjinx

The front part of the stage is the jungle area, fruit trees a re aplenty with small fruits acting as food and big fruit acting as breakable platforms that fall after one too many landings into the abyss, the catapillar enemies periodically spawn covering the outer platforms in stunning spores

The factory segment is in the back area accessed via barrel cannons, the area has bouncing jelly blocks that act as springs, claws that try to grab you and crush into there grip, andbthe killer plants that spawn in the right most platform and tries to eat you and swallow for an instant KO. Also like in jungle hyjinx you have higher launching weakness in the back area

One extra thing: you can make multiple separate submissions and split them into different posts.

Venus of the Desert Bloom Venus of the Desert Bloom Could I submit a Mario Party stage that's a composite of the entire series including Super?
Could you give us a general idea so we can make a better judgement call? If Super Mario Party is the focus point it should be ok

Kirby:
Gigabyte Ruins

Job 17 (Kirby stage)
Gigabyte Ruins
Based on the arena where Mecha Knight is fought at the end of Gigabyte Grounds, the fourth world of Kirby: Planet Robobot.
View attachment 299017
It resembles an ancient desert temple at sunset, but overrun by mechanization--everything is metallic, and there are artificial lights all over.

While the original arena resembles a walkoff, this version would have ledges, looking like you're at the narrow top of a mechanical pyramid. This would make it somewhat resemble Great Plateau Tower, though the main platform would be slightly larger. It also has a series of smaller platforms: specifically, a sort of inverse Battlefield where the single middle platform is below the two side platforms.

Occasionally, Susie will fly through the background on her Transporter. If hazards are on, she will fire laser blasts towards the opponents. Similarly, Mecha Knight can also appear in the background, flying past the opponents to slash at them if hazards are on.
Nintendo Labo:
Labo Tabletop

1622585171959.png

The stage consists of a coffee table in a living room with a television in the background. On the table, but still in the background, is a collection of cardboard and Nintendo Labo packaging.

This is a PictoChar-esque stage where, periodically, Toy-Con creations pop up to interfere with the match. While a specific Toy-Con is active, the TV will display gameplay of their corresponding game/minigame. The possible Toy-Cons are as follows:
  • Fishing Rod (Variety Kit: Fishing): Hovers on either side of the table. Every few seconds, it will swing itself out, effectively acting like Isabelle's side special. Occasionally, it will float through the background to the other side of the stage.
  • Piano (Variety Kit: Toy Piano): Drops onto the table from above. Plays a short song (notes/visualizations visible on the TV) that creates an area around it where fighters' attack is increased.
  • House (Variety Kit: House): Drops from above and releases the house's fuzzy inhabitant onto the table; it runs around trying to headbutt fighters.
  • Mech (Robot Kit): Backpack and Joy-Cons hover in the background. Every few seconds, one of the Joy-Cons will punch into the foreground on a random spot. This results in a screen KO at very high percentages.
  • Plane (Vehicle Kit): Flies around the screen, like a slower version of Latias/Latios.
  • Blaster (VR Kit): Hovers around. Fires projectiles at fighters.
For Ω and Battlefield forms, the platforms would be made of cardboard and floating in front of the TV.

The world must die before it can be reborn... Tokyo died and it became a Smash stage.

Job #113 - Part 2: Vortex World
from Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne - HD Remaster

smt_vortexworld.jpg

The main location of Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne, it's the Vortex World. The following will contain some spoilers for the opening of Nocturne so be wary if you have an interest in the game.

In Layman's terms, the Vortex World is the entirety of a desolate Tokyo ravaged by demons confined within an inverted spherical world. The event that brought the world into this state, known as the Conception, was brought about by a man named Hikawa who wished to recreate the world in his own image, a world of stillness where humanity could become one. While the Conception killed everyone outside of the hospital in which it was spawned from, there were a few who survived by being within the hospital's safety and were forced to navigate this new demonic world.

The protagonist known as the Demi-fiend was given demonic power that made them a half-demon by a young boy with long an wavy blonde hair. From there, he set on a journey across the Vortex World to forge his own beliefs about how he should shape the world. He will need to side with Reasons, the official name for the philosophies that will shape the world to come. Will he use his strength to build a world of stillness, strength, isolation or will he reject them all to bring back the world he knew. Perhaps instead he will go on to fight a greater power inheriting his true demonic heritage or leaving the world to rot in the dust.

And in the centre of the world lies Kagutsuchi, the bright deity that will help a Reason shape the world they wish to seek.

So for the actual stage, it would start atop the roof of the Shinjuku Medical Center.

hqdefault.jpg

Its layout is large and flat with walls to the side and a dreary blue background. There will be a small rooftop exit building to the left of the stage. This variation of the stage only lasts for 20 seconds. After that, the Conception will occur.

conception2.jpg

The world you knew is gone... the world around you starts you curve over you until Kagutsuchi's bright light swallows it whole. Now, enter the Vortex World.

0_E6cXT_qRh2ScnUr6.jpg

The stage now takes place in this desolate wasteland and on the ground. The wastes of Shinjuku can be seen in the background. Additionally, the entire stage is now a walk-off and a curved one at that, similarly to Windy Hill zone's curve but inverted instead. The stage's main gimmick is the Kagutsuchi phase mechanism. Kagutsuchi which can be seen at the top of the background will start pitch black but as the match progresses, he will shine brighter and brighter until he shines a blinding light blue light before dimming back down. The fuller Kagutsuchi is, the more powerful the player in last place will be. On a full Kagutsuchi phase, he the player in last place will receive a permanent buff and a moderate amount of armour until Kagutsuchi dims back down to an empty phase.

You aren't the only visitors of this brand new world however. Plenty demons have come to watch the fight play out although their interest in fighting you is not as grand.

The following demons will appear periodically: Jack Frost, Jack o' Lantern, Pixie, Cu Chulainn, Matador, Alice, Oni and Mothman.

DAGlkXd-removebg-preview.png

Additionally, some of the characters will take interest in watching the battle. These characters are: Isamu, Chiaki, Hikawa, Ms. Takao and on a rarer occasion, the Lady in Black & the Blonde Boy.

Omega / Battlefield: The Omega and Battlefield versions of this stage will take the appearance of the post-Conception world with grey blocky platforms, similar to the blocky look of Northern Cave.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Note: I will be working on submitting a first party stage later today.

Part 1:
Super Mario Party - River Survival

What is River Survival

River Survival is a major mode in Super Mario Party. With it's own set of mini games and even an unlockable character hidden in there in Donkey Kong, it feels like it's importance to the game is high enough to warrant a spot in Smash.

How does the stage work?

River Survival would be a side scrolling stage similar to Big Blue. Multiple(I'll say around 5) will spawn at a time, acting as platforms for players to fight on. The rafts will go down the usual terrain of River Survival, including the straights, downward slants, through caves/tunnels, and off the waterfalls. The balloons that float through the game will also show up, spawning items instead of mini games.

The terrains will effect fighting as well. The straight paths are just the same as normal. The slants speed up the rafts, making it more difficult for airborne players to stay on and keep from being swept away. The caves limit jumping and allow players to be bounced and ricocheted off the ceiling, with them occasionally going down some slanted areas . And finally, when the waterfalls hit all the rafts plummet into the water. This sends all items and players into a falling effect similar to what happens on Pirate Ship. Any players who have rafts land on top of them are instantly KO'd and all items not being held by players also go airborne, landing back on the rafts or into the water once the freefall ends.

There will also be some Cheap Cheap areas where Cheap Cheaps leap out of the water, causing small damage and knockback if hit. These areas will also have ramps the rafts will go off of, causing small dropping and hangtime effects.

Cameos:

Yes, this mode for sure will have cameos. While passing through the caves and on the straight aways you can see the non playable characters in Smash from the game( Koopa Troopa, Goomba, Dry Bones, Shy Guy, Hammer Bro, Boo, and Pom Pom) as well as the important NPCs from Super Mario Party(Toad, Toadette, and Kamek) all participating in mini games from the mode in the background. The mini games will include:

Go With the Flow - One of the characters from above floats around in a hot air balloon while 1 of the others is seen with a wind machine, cranking it to blow the balloon in a different direction.
Penguin Pushers - 4 of the characters are seen chasing penguins around in the background
Miner Setback - 4 of the characters are seen carrying a diamond through a maze of Piranha Plants
Fireplace Race - 4 of the characters are seen running around lighting candles(caves only, obviously)
Suit Yourselves - 4 characters are seen flipping over cards in the background, sometimes getting matching suits and sometimes not
Isthmus be the way - 1 character from above is seen carrying a bomb across a zig zagged ledge
Fetch Quest - 4 characters will be seen running around throwing diamonds to eachother and placing them where they belong

I'll come back to do Part 2 before tonight ends

BoxBoy! + Box-Girl!
Chibi-Robo
Etrian Odyssey Nexus
Ever Oasis
Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash
Astral Chain
Ring Fit Adventure
Nintendo Labo
Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition
Braverly Defauly 2
OCTOPATH TRAVELER
Dead by Daylight
Daemon x Machina
The Wonderful 1010: Remastered
Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster
Shantae and the Seven Sirens
If we don't get submissions for certain franchises from PART 1 and/or PART 2, we will ignore them and proceed forward.
Are the lists of series examples of games we can make stages for, or the only ones? It seems needlesslyy limiting and arbitrary to ban stages from, say, Kirby Triple Deluxe or Nintendo Badge Arcade.

Megafruit Paradise (Super Mario Party)
1622591058782.png

Megafruit Paradise
comes from Super Mario Party, and in my opinion is by far the most iconic board from the game. This series is extremely iconic, and deserves representation for sure.

The layout is modified a bit for Smash, with the two main platforms being the gigantic watermelon and pineapple. These two will bob up and down in the water, especially when fighters land on them. A wooden bridge will be placed between the two, but can be broken with enough damage. It will re-appear after about 45 seconds.

Smaller floating platforms made of orange slices will be on both sides of the stage, moving up and down similarly to Fountain of Dreams.

Red Pipes will occasionally appear on the stage, and will teleport to a random location from their spawn points. In addition, while they are don't really do anything, blue, red, and green spaces appear on the stage. The hazardless version removes the pipes, the battlefield form's main platform is made out of pineapple (orange slices make up the smaller dropthroughs), and the omega form's platform is made out of watermelon. A rough image of the layout below:
1622591979158.png

When not participating in matches, Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Wario, Waluigi, DK, Diddy, Rosalina, Bowser, Bowser Jr. and Yoshi can be shown in the background. (it randomly picks from these and the following, anywhere from 2 to 4): Goomba, Koopa Troopa, Boo, Shy Guy, Dry Bones, Hammer Bro, Pom Pom, and Monty Mole. Each has unique animations, sometimes grabbing a star, sometimes punching their dice, or just having fun on the platforms.

You can also see the boardwalk island in the background, and some of them might show up there!

I was going to do a Zip Lash stage, but after doing research on it I don't think it deserves one. I haven't seen so many bad choices piled into one thing since the last time I looked into the mirror.
