Only real men played the Wii version :mad::mad::mad::mad:

Many Zelda fans give it a lot of flak, but I loved every minute of it. From the music, the graphics, the mood it set, everything. Yeah, maybe it was a bit on the easy side, but imo not easy to the point where it became dull.

Yeah.

(Agrees with first comment) ;)

How could you not love the cut scenes!!?? Especially at the end with Midna returning to her normal form!!

Fighting with bosses and normal enemies seems better with the sword techniques added on, ending blow owns!!!

Real men? Real men fight with only the Mortal Draw once they earn it. Especially in minibosses like the Temple of Time one. Epic and fun to the nth degree.

Also, hurray that Link finally gets the girl at the end. I never see LinkxZelda in any game, and he and Ilia were adorable. Awwww.

Great game, obviously not as good as Oot but still great. I played both the Gamecube and Wii versions and beat them both 100%. I enjoyed every minute of this game.

I always liked how in OOT there was always an out of reach item (heart container?) that you KNEW was there, just couldn't get to it. I find that in Twilight Princes, it still has hidden items, but you don't know that they exist there until you actually get them. They are locked in chests that you cant even see until you get to where it's located , and anything from rupees to a new sword could pop up. I found that the most pathetic secret areas give you the biggest rewards, while some of the most mind-boggling ones give you a few rupees. I dont know, I thought they did pretty poorly in hiding items. You just dont get that "woah, with this item, I suddenly have access to hundreds of more places!" either.

That happened to me and the very LAST golden skultula in Oot...NEVER found it...

eventually got it in a different game though, but my first game I started, I had everything but it

I'd like to try out the Gamecube version sometime, just to see how different it is...
It's basically just glitchier...unless you are refering to Master Quest..

personally I think Master Quest is less orginized

Zant seemed like he was going to be so awesome in this game. The events after the Water Temple with him made me go holy s***!

But than you fight him and he becomes an annoying b**** with that voice.

The voice wasn't too bad, but the complete and total disregard for his appearance as he resorted to a childish state of fighting you... Kinda blew it for me.

Theres literally 2 differences and thats it.
1) controls (obviously because a different controller).
2) The whole games left-right function is entirely reversed. If you were going right in the Wii version, I recommend going left in the GC before you run into a wall lol.

**** his spinning attack, it gets me too close to the energy field!!!!

In the end, he turned out to be a real mess psychologically..

I am still mad at this game.

It was indeed a good game, but it failed on two fronts.

(1) - It did not live up to its previews. Various trailers/posters/etc. showed off much more epic locations such as the dark forest, the gray mountains with undead, etc. Much of that sense of travel was killed in the final game. :(

(2) - The enemies were too blasted easy! The next one better at least feature an EASY/HARD switch. The enemies are incredibly predictable and hardly dangerous. Just keep swingin'. It'll die eventually.

probably top 3-4 of zelda games for me in spite of a lot of really glaring flaws

+

best mini games
snowpeak, arbiters grounds, and city in the sky are some of the best dungeons in the series
MIDNA
most fun/epic bosses if a little easy
ganons scenes are badass
overworld secrets are some of the better ones
best visuals in the series

-

first half dungeons are awful
You got a blue rupee(5)!
awesome items like spinner and double clawshot are rarely used after their dungeon
you get the horse call waaaay too late
no way to change day/night, I miss ocarina stuff
world is too big when you consider how slow link is, why no bunny hood or something like it?
soundtrack is pretty weak especially in dungeons, it hurts their atmosphere a lot if you compare them to games like LA, LTTP, OoT, or MM
ganons involvement comes off as perfunctory, he just kind of shows up and goes "you there, lets fight"...which is actually kind of awesome when I put it like that...
ending is pretty WTF

more cons than pro's but a lot of them are more minor</random thoughts since I just replayed it>

Every time I hear the words "Twilight Princess", I just keep seeing more room for improvement. If there was a beefed-up spiritual sequel to Twilight Princess, here's what I can imagine...
*More dungeons, preferrably 12 of them. One of them should be horror themed, like level 507, the Shadow Temple from Ocarina of Time.
*As difficult as The Adventure of Link and Oracle of Ages/Seasons combined!
*Twice as many foes, including Wizzrobes who are more difficult than Darknuts.
*Over a dozen secret techniques that go far beyond the 7 in Twilight Princess.
*A magic system, including several more magic items and spells.

Even with all that improvability, an awesome game is still an awesome game, right?

Real men play the Wii version? More like real casuals play the Wii version.

TP is a GAMECUBE game. The Wii version is FLIPPED, making it not the original version. Play the Gamecube version for accuracy and lack of wagglan kthx.

It was still a pretty crap Zelda game though. I'm currently playing through OOT. I'll do MM next, then WW. I might get to TP at the end.

Twilight Princess was a very good game, in a series where all of the (console, at least) games are at least very good, and many are amazing. Therefore, while it is still a really good game, it doesn't shine like it could if it weren't a Zelda game.

Also, GC TP > Wii TP. It seems a bit silly to me that there's a released version of TP that has a non-canonical map. I mean, even with a cursory look, it's clear that it's supposed to be the way it was on the GC, if you know OoT's map at all.

You didn't really aim the Wiimote in TP, outside of using the bow. You just kinda shook it around hoping Link's sword would hit something. That's why I'm hoping Zelda Wii will have Wii Motion+, so we can actually, you know, aim when we use the sword.

And actually (at everybody who thinks the versions are exactly the same), the GCN version has more functionality. Full camera control, the ability to do quick spin attacks, charged spin attacks, and flipping off Epona backwards (coolest horse-related stunt in a game ever).

if you think about it the wii version is more like LTTP, lake hylia south east, kakariko west...

but yeah the GCN version is better, as is typical for any game ported to the wii.

THIS and THIS. All the bosses in this game and Wind Waker fall under the line of" Once you figured out how to damage them, you've won."
I want an Extreme Difficulty next time. Honestly.

My only other 2 gripes with this is
1. The annoying blue rupee notification bug. Why I got this message in Hyrule Castle, The Sky Palace, and many other places I'll never know.

2. This game did more damage to the continuity of the Zelda time line than what MGS2 did to the Metal Gear series. Seriously.

Bow, hookshot, boomerang, just plain free look... need I go on? The waggle-attack was indeed a gimmick, but it was precise enough to get the job done; I've never had trouble being accurate. Plus, Wii version can do quick spin attacks and flipping off Epona. Egads, have you even played the Wii version?

What? I thought you couldn't flip off Epona in the Wii version, as well as no spin attacks. Haven't played that version in two years though, so my memory of it isn't the best. I was wrong. Sorry, dude.

We talked about this last night. I still don't feel TP was good for the Wii.

I do want to get the GameCube version of Twilight Princess at some point so I can play the original version. I mean, I'll be honest...when the Wii first came out I thought it was going to be the best thing on earth and getting a non-motion sensor version of a game would be stupid.

Obviously I was wrong, but I've been wrong about many things as far as video games go. (And other things, but that's not the topic.)

I love Twilight Princess, though. It was lacking some things that other games have had, but it was still truly epic. It had a great soundtrack, fun dungeons, etc.

Nevertheless, I AM going to wait until the price of the GC version dies down a little before I get it. Better or not, I already spent $50 on the Wii version and I'd rather save as much as possible when getting a very similar game, and it's still about $30 everywhere I've seen it.

Word. I have that poster on my wall and look at it with two things in mind:

a) TP failed to include this truly beautiful and expansive landscape (and battle).

b) Zelda Wii better do something like this.

But I've been thinking lately... gameplay aside, Twilight Princess is quite possibly the best designed Zelda game to date. Hyrule expanded horizontally greatly, but far more so did it expand vertically. That's something I feel people don't give it credit for. It isn't as large as we want it to be, nor as large as some of the promotional artwork and beta screens made it out to seem, but if you consider how much it has expanded altitude-wise, it improves the design tenfold. For instance, look at Lake Hylia, the many abysses of Zora's River, the rope-bridge canyon between Ordon and Faron Woods (most beautiful place in the game), and various other locations.

Twilight Princess is a beautiful game, and if you consider the fact that it is a direct sequel to Ocarina of Time AND Majora's Mask, simply based 100 years later, you may appreciate the game even more (this isn't directed just at you BuzzSaw, but rather to anyone who reads this).

I never really saw much of the previews in great detail enough to know specific locations, though I do remember seeing the woods thinking back. Thus, I never really had much in the way of expectations for Hyrule when the game came out. But I do have to agree with Spire about how Hyrule gained a lot in the 3rd dimension of height. Actually, though I feel like the most imposingly high places are mostly in WW, like the Tower of The Gods and Dragon Roost Island. But that game was very flat due to the ocean, so TP is more clearly the one to make a deal of this.

Up and down the produce aisle!
... I didnt like how Ordon village and Castle Town were the ONLY towns.

I mean... what happened to kakariko village? Why did it turn into some strange Texas Cowboy-prospecting colony? Did the city-planner say "Hey! Lets rough it out like them ol' rooty tootin' cow-folk like in da olden days!" Where did all the people go? did they die? Did they decide to go live somewhere else? Why did lush green kakariko turn into some freaky-deaky desert? I mean.. only three people freakin' live there: A gender-confused shaman, a pudding-bowl heaircut kid, and some kind of pedophile pyromaniac. Sure some gorons and some ugly kids came around and sat in some hot water and let you jump on their backs and build a shop and stuff... but that hardly counts.

Honestly! Even the lost city was like this! The place where "All the Shieka used to live." What, were they cowboys too? If I wanted to see something western, I would watch Bonanza... I didnt want it in Zelda!

Twilight Princess is strangely the first Zelda game that actually got me to get into Zelda again. I'm not really into Zelda so most of the games I'm not a fan of. Since then, I only borrowed a copy of Zelda a played it when I was bored. Since this game came with the Wii I bought, I played it and actually enjoyed it. Don't ask why, because I don't have the answer, lol.

If you enjoyed TP, you will enjoy Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and probably Wind Waker.

The auto-shielding in Twilight Princess spoiled me, now that I'm redoing Majora's Mask I'm always forgetting to use the shield.

Already played those games. As I said in my post, I borrow Zelda games to play instead of buying them. I just like Twilight Princess more however.

What's wrong with Texas-Cowboy-prospecting  The Kakariko Village of TP was my absolute favorite part of the game, and has become one of my most memorable and desirable locations to revisit in the entire series.

Also, look at what happened to Death Mountain. It turned into a giant meteor (never got that), so Kakariko should be allowed to change ever-so-slightly. Frankly, I didn't like the OoT Kakariko that much. Out of all of the retconning that TP did to Hyrule, I think Kakariko was definitely its strongest point.

I even went so far as to create a replica of it with the Farcry 2 map editor, albeit much larger, expanded, and detailed.
