Rom2 is another example of him not winnings GFs from losers. He's up 66%, Mango has a better record.
I mean out of 5 large tournaments where he won set 1 of GF coming from losers, he wins 4...

Also pp wasn't exactly a top player at rom2 yet, not to slight my boy kevin

Your point is still mute

Compared to American players, they have been in hibernation. The scale and average skill level of the OoC scenes is far below USA's.
Yeah, the skill differential was instrumental in America's comebacks to overthrow Armada at Apex 2012 and Smasher's Reunion after his win at Genesis 2

Oh wait

I really don't feel like this argument holds any water whatsoever. Armada has won everything he's entered for almost two years now. The skill differential doesn't seem to have had much of an impact on him at all. Example: He came to Pound V with only a few months prep of an entirely new character to counter the best active Puff main and reigning Melee champion without having access to anyone near HBox's skill (no offense to the handful of Puff mains in Europe or to the people he practiced with, but HBox is HBox) and went from getting 6-0'd to netting a solid 2-0 and wins at the next two tournaments they both attended as well. If that's hibernating, then sign me up, I want to be a part of that.

It is my assumption that Hungrybox has a plan, whether it's a new character or tweaks in his playstyle or new Puff tech we haven't seen yet, but to assume that Armada doesn't also have a plan when all the evidence suggests that we've rarely had a player that works so hard between tournaments to overcome obstacles is foolhardy. I would be staggered if Armada doesn't have an answer of some kind for whatever HBox is plotting. Not to say HBox can't do it, far from it, but he better have more than one new trick up his sleeve. Armada won't be so easily toppled.

Maybe we'd have more tournaments to base that off of if he made it to GFs in more nationals.

:awesome:

(also lol "mute point")

No johns, it's 4/6.

Actually it's 4 out of 7 when you count rom 4. That's a 57% success rate. Big fricken deal.

Your point is mute.

Nice edit, I like the new version.

So what's the Melee stream for doubles bracket and so on, I honestly am not sure which of the streams is the right one.

I really just want to see Taj vs Dr. PeePee/Westballz.

Also PPU vs Wobbles

1. Mango
2. Armada
3. Dr PP
4. Hbox
5. Axe

Or you could just answer my question, if you actually know the answer. Please <3

The whole reason I'm asking is because of this:

": all streams doing selected matches all day"

I refuse to believe that they'll be switching back and forth between Melee and Brawl and traditional fighters on any given stream at any given time until I see it or until Alex Strife himself says so, at which point I will promptly ask why in God's name that's happening since I would think that would require constant setup changes and great consternation on the parts of all viewers of all streams, and the players, and the streamers.

Should I assume it's bifuteki since that's the one showing Melee singles Sunday until Top 8?

yeh icy can we please do a bet? Armada vs. the field. Armada wins, I will post porn in some thread and get myself permabanned. If anyone else wins, you must do the same thing.

PLEASE take this wager, I'm begging you

Alright so to be clear, if Armada wins, you get permabanned, and if anyone other than Armada wins, I get permabanned?

YOU'RE ON! :D

Ok, so these aren't necessarily the results I'd LIKE to see, but I think they are the most plausible based on recent performances as well as maximum demonstrated ability.

1. Armada
2. Mang0
3. HungryBox
4. Dr. PeePee
5. Mew2King
5. Axe
7. KirbyKaze
7. Javi
9. Hax
9. Leffen
9. PewPewu
9. Westballz

-I believe Armada should be considered the favorite. BY FAR.

-I believe that Armada, Mang0, HungryBox, Dr. PeePee, and Mew2King all have legitimate shots at winning this.

-Mew2King is somehow flying under the radar into this tournament. I understand that his attention being split between brawl and melee as well as what appears to be a widening gap between himself and the top four are causes for concern, but if you are straight handicapping the field, he belongs in the top 5.

-PewPewU and Westballz have thoroughly established themselves as two of California's top players. At a national where character diversity can be a factor, a player like Shroomed could outplace them, next year, I doubt that will be the case.

-Javi and Leffen are what I would consider the wildcards in my top 10. However, Javi's top 5 placing at last years Apex should be a sign that he belongs. Leffen's 33rd placing puts him in much sketchier territory. However, he plays very well against Armada. I understand that Leffen has more opportunity than most to play against him, but, it's still Armada, if you can hang with him, you should be able to hang with the rest.

-I believe I probably said "I believe" and "I think" too much in this post, but people are *****es and will quote **** out of context so I wanted to cover my ***.

I thought that popular consensus was that javi started to lose to players that got more matches with him later?

Don't worry, Javi is going to do just fine this tournament. Other players who I think will do very well that perhaps people are overlooking are Aza, .jpg, JC, Soul, Jordy, Meme, and Zavage.

No it's not, can you read? im not being cryptic.

Rom2 (is that even relavent anymore?) and rom4 he didn't take set1 to begin with.

Kevin is 4/5 in winning GF sets from losers when he wins the first set

Tell me another tourney where he comes from losers, wins set 1 of GF and then proceeds to lose set 2 besides smashers reunion?

You can't

he's a beast at taking that second set

Oh, I thought you meant coming from losers only. That's a stupid statistic and has no bearing on this tourney.
