Don't get me wrong...it's a matter of it being a tough job and someone having to do it. However, I think in the right hands(tier lists assume highest level) PM luigi isn't bad enough to be the worst in the game. I think you could safely put GnW, Ness-ish characters below him.

The potential of misfire alone kinda puts him above the worst spot. Being able to combo or TC into it is very scary.

The toughest part about Luigi, I find, is actually getting in when your opponent realizes that your feet are mostly glued to the ground and you're gonna have to get in horizontally. This was a super problem in Melee that was mitigated somewhat by a better fireball and tornado but is still present.

Edit: I wouldn't say being able to combo into misfire alone should keep Luigi above that worst spot. DDD can probably combo into downB, and he can definitely TC with it, yet people still put him terribly low.

What? Why is Zard still down there? :urg: Does everyone dislike Ivy and ZSS so much? Squirtle only in Mid? Marth, Peach, and Mario are so high..... Lolz, the only tier that makes any sense to me is High Tier. I agree that every char in that tier belongs there.

where would you put them?
You could always just look at my own tier list... :p

I'm surprised Squirtle even made it to mid tier. He's got no range. He feels like Squirtle should though at least.

You know what else he's missing? Videos from good players putting in work with Squirtle.

He got decent range on his Usmash, Fair and Bair (+ his Bair beeing disjointed). He also has Speed and Shell Armor to make up for the lack of range.
Aditionally he's quite fast and mobile, has a very good offstage game (with wallcling fair, bair and bubble) and he also has some decent kill power in his usmash and upB.

I really don't know why everyone puts him on the bottom of their lists.

Oh sorry. I guess I didn't specify well enough.

Time to look like a tool. *sigh*

Better yet, I'll just make it clear.

Hey, instead of asking why Squirtle is at low, just post some videos of your favorite Squirtle players doing well so we can eat our words.

You mean like what happened with Wario and Reflex? Good luck with that one.

Squirtle is pretty cool, though. Dunno how that affects his tier position though.

Good job Marth, apparently a number of people think you're not only better than Peach and Jigglyppuff, but also better than Sheik and maybe even Falco.

Does less landing lag on dair make it like, +8 on block or something that I'm missing?

No, but you still always seem to make out that marth was surpassed by all these new characters because he didn't get any buffs, when he really didn't need much to begin with.

If he got much more than he did, he might honestly be to good. Sure there will be a few, but I don't agree with as many as you have constantly stated.

You have to understand that the potential for some characters will be realized faster than others. For example, Wario is not a character that requires much tech skill to be proficient with, so his "peak" will most likely come faster than a character like Squirtle.

Many people tend to flock to and believe in characters who have players already showing them the currently-optimal way to play, so that they don't have to figure it out themselves or struggle with losing with little to show for it. It's just the way of the general public.

Also, it's a new version with many substantial changes; it's very doubtful that many people have had a chance to learn all the changes and shake off previous ideas of a character, and there's not much footage to push the case of, say, Luigi, being an absolute beast in the right hands.

Eli wants to change that.

Why do YOU think Wario is bad, Reflex?

Kink, because apparently "Marth has always been better than Peach."

I don't--I think that 2.1 Wario was terrible. Almost everything on Wario's moveset was improved in one way or another. Now that a lot of stuff has gone from "situational gimmick" to "reliable mix-up" and his range/hitbox issues were improved, he's probably somewhere between Mid and High. He still has noticeable problems with opponents who refuse to approach, but at least he has stronger, safer options to mitigate it now, and he's quite strong against most opponents who have to go in to deal damage. Long-lasting hitboxes, momentum-based combos that can go on for days, and a ridiculous edgeguarding game go a long way.

ROB is much better than people make him out to be.

Luigi I feel is a decent character, but his offensive style is severely mitigated by his absolute terrible recovery.

And i like that averaged tier list, not bad considering how much all the characters are being played. but personally i would put snake much higher up cuz professor pro is a ****ing rapist as him..

That's kinda unfair. Some of us don't have the ability to put out videos and when we finally get some matches recorded, they don't ever get put up. :c

This is a call-out to GHNeko, btw. :p

Also, isn't there plenty of footage of ZSS doing well, ESPECIALLY after Apex 2013? How the heck did she still end up pretty much as low as Squirtle?

I feel like the community for this game is so small that its necessary for everyone to get recording equipment for it.

The cheapest capture card costs $30 and isn't difficult to use. Really good investment, IMO.

i feel like anyone who has the money to own a wii can definatly do it for $30. no offense to anyone who doesn't have one. The metagame is going to be realllllllllly slow without more videos and just players in general I think. Also on that average tier list, I think i would lower Ike a lil bit. after 2.5 changes.

I've got a capture device, but the only laptop I have that I can take with me to where we smash can't handle recording. It blue screens on me. It didn't used to do this though. I've since given up on that. Don't care, I just won't be a part of the metagame this semester.

Might want to ask around and see if anyone else has a laptop they can get to work with it.

:O I have been mentioned :O

And thank you for the compliment :awesome:, I do feel a lot of people are sleeping on Snake, but it doesn't bother me too much because I don't think his metagame is universally developed.

I didn't buy my Wii. It's technically not even mine. The last system I ever "bought" was my GCN. My Wii and NDS were both gifts.....but not my gifts. <_< Regardless, I'll look into this 'capture card'. Isn't that just a fancy name for a Dazzle?

I'm surprised Squirtle even made it to mid tier. He's got no range. He feels like Squirtle should though at least.
Squirtle has just as much range as Jiggs does, if not more. His bair outranges Puff's, and it also has more disjoint. Besides, Squirt has two projectiles plus crazy mobility. His grab range is technically larger than half the cast's because of hydroplaning. Range seriously shouldn't be an issue. I'm surprised that Jiggs got into Top Tier, partly because I feel her range IS an issue against the P:M cast.

You mean like what happened with Wario and Reflex? Good luck with that one.
No, no, I'm pretty sure that Reflex's accomplishments have done a great deal towards reforming people's opinions of Wario. Him just not being in Bottom Tier after such a short time is actually improvement enough. In my own personal list, I rose him quite a bit after viewing Reflex's Wario and playing against Iota's for a time. He's solidly Mid Tier in mine. Future rises (on everyone's lists) will come with time.

Good job Marth, apparently a number of people think you're not only better than Peach and Jigglyppuff, but also better than Sheik and maybe even Falco.
Well actually, you know, it could just mean that a lot of people consistently think that Marth is worse than Falco and Sheik but better than everyone else. Heck, it COULD just be that most people simple placed him at 4th in their personal tier lists. You never know with these things until you actually go and check the data. I actually doubt that more than a quarter of us really thinks that Marth is better than Sheik or Falco or even Peach.

Edit: The few who think he's better than Peach probably put Peach really low on their lists.

Kink, because apparently "Marth has always been better than Peach."
Well in Melee, he simply always was. Look at the MUs. Marth has even MUs with both spacees and with Falcon, he arguably goes even with Jiggs, and he pretty much destroys Doc and Samus. Peach, on the other hand, solidly loses to all of Top and High Tier, including Falcon, who's below her, and she arguably goes even with Samus (although I won't believe THAT crap).

Luigi I feel is a decent character, but his offensive style is severely mitigated by his absolute terrible recovery.
I think this is my first time hearing this one. Terrible recovery? What about extreme floatiness, Brawl tornado, Brawl upB, heavily buffed sideB mechanics (and it's MORE than just the misfire, people), and great aerials to cover himself screams "terrible recovery" at you? I don't think Luigi is 'low' because he's a 'bad' character. I think he's 'low' because there are chars better than him and even so, I have him at Mid.

This is how I feel about Wario, and Snake actually. I think Snake is a really really strong character.

When I mean terrible recovery, I mean easily predictable/gimp-able it is. Luigi doesn't have very good aerial mobility, so his extreme floatiness doesn't exactly help vary his recovery. Both the Brawl tornado and Brawl Up-b only really help vertically and even if it does launch him towards the stage ever so slightly, it's still easily punishable. Not to mention that its really punishable upon landing if you miss the edge. The green missile is still as punishable as it was before. Sweetspotting the ledge certainly helps, but anyone good enough at edgeguarding can easily find a way around this. Maybe saying terrible is a little bit of a stretch, but I don't think it's good by any means. Imo, he's outshined in a lot of places.

I also believe Snake and Bowser are on high tier.

I think Wario and Sonic are in the top 5(not basing off of Apex result lol) along with a couple of melee characters. As the game progresses though I think most brawl characters are gonna be over melee characters.
