It's Ar tonelico. It's a RPG with some dating sim elements. Its made by Gust and published by NIS, which you may know from games like Disgaea and Makai kingdom.
Also, wikipedia is your friend.

And it's obviously deliberate, dur. Game developers like to have fun too.

anyway, on the subject matter, the worst cutscene when it comes to scripting and voice acting has to go to chaos wars.

This goes for the entire game as well, sadly.

I've never seen anything funnier in a video game. Wow that chaos wars video made me want to throw up.

Just so everyone knows, Gust is known to make their games to contain a lot of innuendos. They just love their perverted dialogues.

And yeah, the english dub of Chaos Wars is so sad. I haven't played the game though, only youtubed various cutscenes.

Heh. The first one was great, the second one was facepalm-worthy, and the third one is just kind of sad. Uru's voice is kind of funny.

This definitely isn't the worst cutscene, but comparatively...look at Metroid Prime's NTSC Grapple Beam cutscene versus the PAL Grapple Beam cutscene. (If you could even call the NTSC version a cutscene).

Game companies do this all the time, and it's f***ing hilarious. Rareware, anyone? If you don't know what I mean watch this then this. They show all the innuendos in the Banjo-Kazooie games, and it's funny as hell.

This is a spoiler from about a third of the way through Eternal Sonata. It's my vote for worst cut scene in history.
OH NO, I HOPE I GET TO THE END OF MY SIX MINUTE MONOLOGUE BEFORE I PASS OUT DUE TO BLOOD LOSS! And then at 9:38 when she comes back to life to keep talking? Awesome >.>

That was terrible, they even used the MS Sam speech tool to read the dialogue. Can't get worse than that,
the MS sam speech was something added in the viral video. It was just regular text in the actual game.

Anyway, the Zero Wing cutscene isn't really that bad. If you can excuse the bad translation (I've seen worse anyway.), it had some awesome music, and very dynamic, anime-like visual sequencing, especially since this was a 16-bit console here.

Any cutscene that can't be skipped before the long, hard final boss
I think the 2nd Paper Mario had a HUGE cutscene before and during the final boss. As far as I know it couldn't be skipped, and the boss was really difficult the only two times I tried

That is not that bad.

Sonic's real super power of teamwork line is much worse then that whole video.

around 2:50 but the whole thing is :urg:
That line sounded terrible (but not as bad as Chaos Wars). Ryan Drummond's voice got worse over the years. He sounded better in his earlier works in the Adventure series.

That reminds me of when I played the first Kingdom Hearts. I kept screwing up on the boss after Maleficent.

The voices of team Sonic on that game were terrible. Sonic sounded odd, Tails sounded stoned, and Knuckles sounded like a posh Simon Cowell.

I initially thought of the second battle with Maleficent, then it dawned on me what boss you meant. I hated that boss with a passion.

The FFX-2 Hot Spring scene. That one scene made me realize that X-2 is one of those games that you don't want anyone to find you playing. And what made it even worse was that to get 100%, you had to sit through 50 seconds of fan service filler.

You know, with everyone talking about the worst cut-scenes in video games I'm amazed nobody's mentioned that "master of unlocking" scene in RE: Director's Cut. Really.

(Face Palms)

I forgot RE 1!

It was plagued with terrible cutscenes.
The intro was funny though.

Jill: JOSEPH!!!!

And the "You were almost a Jill sandwich" scene were funny.
