I don't get why its so much worse for a guy to hit a girl than vice-versa.

If that's really the argument, then why not modify the social dogma to "Don't hit people who are weaker than you, but weak people can hit you." Basically replace females with weak people.

Also, thank you for using actual punctuation instead of zam. I can actually understand you now.

I don't get how MMO's can be so addicting?

I'm trying to get into them but, it backfires and I end up ditching it. >w>;

I'm currently addicted to DotA. Its so much fun.

I think it's just a left-over remnant of when chivalry was the honor code of all honorable men in the western world. While a good amount of it has been forgotten since people began seeing women as more equal, some stuff still remains. It's still inappropriate for men to wear hats inside, but not for women.

Also, I'd suggest the social moral to "Don't hit anyone." Much friendlier, plus, it's not sexist.

Ooh I got another one.

Why do beds have wooden railing at the foot end? When I want to let my legs dangle off the front cause I'm reading or w/e, it's really awkward on a traditional bed. That's why the matress in my college dorm is so legit.

With the hitting women thing, maybe its just because the woman would be more prone to injury (generally). Most women's muscles are are soft and their bodies are a bit more fragile than a man's. (again generally)
Sometimes a woman might swing at a guy because there isn't really that caution of possibly seriously injuring him. I have no doubt that a woman COULD find a way to seriously injure a man if she really wanted to, but in general the possibility of her getting seriously injured is more likely.

This is all just generally speaking.
If I were to swing at my husband, it'd probably stun him a bit and give him a bruise. If he were to swing at me it'd probably knock me silly and send me to the hospital.

Though it doesn't justify the weaker hitting the stronger, its pretty much why there is initially more caution on the one side.

Or, on the other side of the spectrum, hit everyone in a gender neutral way. :)

I don't get people like this man, who whine, complain and nitpick about everything, generally ruining my attempts to have a good time with life.

Wow dude, wtf. When was there whining or complaining?

I don't get people like this guy who actively avoid truth and still feel entitled to affect other people's lives with their opinion (by voting, offering advice, etc...)

If he were making a political joke, he'd have said that w = dubya. Also, in French, the word for w is "double-v", so they do something right at least. Of course, different methods of writing w's have it as either v's or u's. Fun.

This may sound cheesy, but I don't get why people can't get along or at least tolerate each other.

People have different notions of what constitutes their space, and sometimes there's overlap, so problems ensue. Take for example the issue of abortion. If I were a female who was heavy with unwanted child, I would argue that I do not believe that a fetus constitutes a human being, and the entity is within the domain of my own body, so I should decide whether or not to extract it. The pro-lifers would say that because I live in a society, I have given up some personal freedoms in order to protect myself and the other constituents of said society. One of those freedoms I have given up is the ability to kill people who are weaker than me. The pro-lifers believe that allowing me the freedom to extract a fetus is no better than allowing me the freedom to murder a homeless man. Being a society, we cannot and should not allow this behavior.

Because there can be no agreement as to who is right in this case, no matter the outcome, somebody will feel stepped on. Those who are stepped on will not get along with those who stepped on them, for the same reason you don't tolerate the burglar who pilfers your copy of Super Smash Brothers.

I don't get why in a classroom (No matter if it's middle school, high school or college) that when a professor asks a question nobody responds. Either that or the room goes silent for ten to twenty seconds before somebody makes a suggestion or the professor finally states the answer. I've had classes in college from freshman year up to my senior year and I'm suprised this happens. I would think people would want to engage in the subject.

Woot Woot 400th post.

Two reasons I don't respond:

1.) I don't want to reveal my stupidity by seeming too eager to answer the easy questions or offering the wrong answer to a more difficult question.

2.) I feel like someone else will do it for me. It's the same idea whereby the victim of a car crash has a better chance of receiving treatment if there's one bystander as opposed to 100 bystanders. There's a psychological term for it that's not coming to me.

I don't get why the letter W is called "double-u". Shouldn't it be "double-v"?
In the French language "W" is literally transalated as "Double V"
i thought it was [duba-u
In Texas it is:laugh:

Anyhow, I don't get midterm grades. I know they're designed to help explain where one stands on the grading scale mid semester, but it doesn't seem necessary to me to throw in a huge test. Why do college profs do that?

I mean, I wouldn't call the AARP elitist. Special interest groups just really really want stuff. It kind of gets annoying, but I don't see how it's elitist.

"e⋅lit⋅ism
  /ɪˈlitɪzəm, eɪˈli-/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [i-lee-tiz-uhm, ey-lee-] Show IPA
Use elitist in a Sentence
See web results for elitist
See images of elitist
–noun
1. practice of or belief in rule by an elite.
2. consciousness of or pride in belonging to a select or favored group."

Number 2 right there. Many specialist groups not only tend to think of themselves as better than most people, but also are fanatically involved in their causes to the point of completely excluding people from their lives who do not share the same ideals as them. The best example would be PETA and probably next best would be Al-Qaeda.

If you hold a minority opinion, then you must think you're better in the contemplation of the ideas under which your opinion falls than the majority.

I don't get why whenever I do something on the PC in Pokemon D/P it takes longer for me to save my game; even if I've only been playing for a couple minutes.
