hopefully will get to be a part of this community! :)
Hey Beam! You can join me and Negai and the 3 of us will make Australia hate ness more than they already do!

Seriously though, you should totally come to a tournament and hear everyone talk about our skewed risk vs reward ratio :p

Y'all better wish me luck at my tourney tomorrow, especially since I'm entering with less than a week's worth of playtime and playing the Wii U one like blindly. I barely even know how half the cast plays. xD

Surprisingly I haven't even encountered a Rosalina in FG... o.o
^And people seem to enjoy quitting against me after like 2 matches. :/

I would like some guidance with the Yoshi MU though. I don't know why, but I just find him really silly.

Good luck! Unfortunately, I have no advice for Yoshi, just play defensively. Beware of Rosalina's Luma. Jump over it when she sends it out if you don't have time/feel confident enough to reflect it. Her aerials are also disjointed, u-air is harder to land because of her d-air and her u-air negates approach from directly above (not that you want to do that). I'm pretty sure our f-air beats hers and her b-air I think hits hard. If both Rosalina and Luma hit you with a smash attack (especially f-smash), you're going to be in a world of pain. I hope this helps and once again, good luck!

Good Luck!

Hmm. Dodge eggs. Shield grab his approaches. Cover your air with PK Thunder. Cover your ground with PK Fire. You can stop his Ground Pound with PK Thunder's tail. I think approaching with Fairs might be safe vs. Yoshi. You can also try running and powershielding.

Oh, and shield his Down Air and punish when he lands. The latest patch increased the landing lag on that.

Oh, and be careful not to get spiked off the edge due to Yoshi's f-air!

Well I go to israel for about 10 months soon so you have to come to one of the monthlies before then! :D

The one we just had last week had like 40 entrants (big for us) and most of them were very new. I remember being the new kid hahaha, but yeah, best time to jump in it is with everyone else, I say :3

#shamelesspromotingoftournaments :p

I have a tournament today as well, 100+ players. Also YOSHI is a lot better in this game... but Yoshi shouldn't be a problem for you. You need to practice against Rosalina since in many tournaments she ranks first.

It seems like everyone except me is going to tournaments. At least I get to wish people good luck :). Anyway, good luck in the tournament!

No I mis typed there. I beat my friend to get into winners finals. So I'm in winners finals now and the other guy went to go eat lol.

So I lost in winners finals to Wizzrobe's sheik. Then in losers finals my friend that I beat before came back and beat me. So I got third. Out of 35 is ok.

Just tried to post a link to make sure, but won't let me. I get a message saying. "You must have at least 10 post to post a link."

OR you could just put in the /watch?v=[numbers and letters] part of the video, for other people paste after the 'youtube(dot)com' part of the URL, instead of clogging the social board with pointless messages. I'd love to see the matches but I don't see the point in what is essentially spam. :)

Well it ain't a video on youtube, but I guess I can do the same for a twitch video. And that kinda breaking the 10 post rule before posting link rule. Well anyways, at a tournament I went to yesterday, one of the players I lost to said something about Ness isn't that much of a good character, which made me sad hearing that :(

I wish my match against him was recorded so I can observe my matches. It was a really good match vs shiek and I went 1-2 before losing.

P.S. Do players like to **** talk alot during their matches in tournaments?

In Florida there is not a lot of **** talking in a match unless both players know each other very well.

And Ness is a high tier character that person doesn't know anything lol.

**** talk can be fun if you know them ... but as it turns out, starting the game with a low % sd and then losing the entire game is not the way to go

Eh, I don't think it would be breaking any rule. I've seen new players on other boards do it before (if I'm wrong, someone let me know).

Also, I've never been to an official tourney before (busy as all get out usually) but that sounds like its bound to happen from time to time. Don't let it get you down! Some people say all sorts of things when they win like that. Ness has been kinda shafted in pretty much every single Smash title so far. In this one, he's getting his time to shine; many people say he's top 5 material. But regardless of how good he is or isn't, it doesn't really matter. Take Shaky in Brawl. He mained Ness, which was pretty much considered suicide in tournaments. But he did well and was well respected for it (some people said he was the best Ness). There's something to be said for sticking to your main regardless of how good people say they are. :)

(Plus, Sheik. Any character is bound to look 'not that much good' to a Sheik. Bleh.)

Or a good Rosalina. But yeah, Ness seems to be better than in either Melee or Brawl. I never got competitive (considering online tourneys right now), but if you know how to use the character and play with him/her all the time, you are going to be good at that character if you constantly work with that character, hone your skills, and learn from others.

Yea, Ness seems to better in smash 4. Actually, IMO i feel like smash 4 is more balanced than previous smash titles. Well, im going back to the next tourney in January, I find tournaments to be very fun and they teach me alot. I seriously need to get a wii u for smash 4. My only way of practicing is going to my friends house to play on their wii u. I also have the 3ds version of the game, but a GC controller feels so much better.
