borrowed a 3ds and the game for 10days, so i know the stuff, but can't play right nao :<

Lucas probadly used to be in the game, but his MU vs Rosaluma was even worse than Ness' ... it almost appeares he didn't even made it into the game ...

okay too soon ;_;

Rosaluma isn't impossible, she's not the new Marth. She's just annoyingly awfully difficult. I'll have to play the MU more but i'll get back to y'all later when i've been to a tournament about it. :p

He wasn't going for the edge-guards... interesting...

As I said, the MU is doable, just... so gosh darn hard :p

PK Fire is our saviour in this MU. Get it to hit Luma and you're smooth sailing for a bit :p

that last gif is why i believe edgeguarding with PKT is decent.

I tried doing some PKT stuff onstage, but it's slightly easier for the opponent to dodge the PKT2 followup once the PKT bolt passes through.

That PKT to UAir was OP.

Also, falling Airdodge --> UAir is now looking super legit.

U-air is my second-favorite KO move in this game, besides back throw, of course. B-air isn't bad (it's my third favorite KO move), but it doesn't seem to be as effective as it was in Brawl, though.

I believe this is because of vectoring and possible larger blast zones rather than it actually being nerfed. It just doesn't stop the game for a few milliseconds anymore when the sweetspot occurs. =P

PKT edge-guarding is incredibly good. Many characters prefer to manouver themselves below stage where their upB will snap them to the ledge. When they're doing this, if you hit them with PKT1 it tends to send them up right next to you where you can basically just get a free aerial. ;)

I tend to mostly use f-air for gimping at high percents or against Little Mac. It's surprisingly good at its role. I sometimes use N-air, though at times I do find it difficult to hit wit PKT1 juggle, but when I can get a string going... Anyway, I'll take your advice and see what I can do with it. Thank you, by the way.

the 3DS is hurting my hands when playing it. too small so that I need to contort my fingers and scrunch my hands up to press the shoulder buttons

I'm trying to compile a list of situations in which DTilt can be super useful in this game. I've had a lot of situations where I can shield a person's attack, shield drop, then DTilt for silly good results.

Maybe have the replays to showcase some crazy stuff

Sorry guys I'm still working on the MU general discussion thread. I've just been crazy busy.

Anyone going to go play the Wii U demo tomorrow? Look up your Gamestop for your area if you can. I'll be helping out my Nintendo rep at mine, so I'm stoked. :)

I have a feeling there's a unlockable Earthbound stage that they don't wanna reveal.

Might be Fourside, might be a new stage all together

I just feel it

ehhhh... I'm starting to reconsider DTilt. A lot of characters can jab between hits of it. Considering that and the fact that grabs don't super-armor through hits, it's pretty dang risky on hit unless you trip, and the trip rate isn't that good. It might be significantly better on shield compared to brawl though.

What does grabs not having super armor have to do with dtilt'so effectiveness?

And I have yet to use dtilt once in a serious match. I do like ftilt and Utilt though.

Went to the Gamestop Smash Bros for Wii U event tonight. I represented Ness most of the time. Won quite a few matches as Ness.

People can jab you after being hit by a dtilt most of the time unless they're slightly popped up off the ground, and dtilt > grab was a decent followup in previous games. The only real way for it to give you a beneficial situation is if you're quicker than they can react to a dtilt, which makes it useless because it only does 3-6 % then.

dtilt doesn't seem like the best move to me, you could use it as a mixup in some situations and follow with jabs for more damage than just using jabs or try to grab them after it, but both won't work multiple times if the opponent reacts in the right way

and if it works, than it won't do that much anyway, it's just not safe

Okay has Ness been changed guys? I'm not sure if I can tell without looking at frame data and whatnot.

The only thing I THINK I MIGHT have noticed is that Uair I thought only did 9% or 10% damage but now it seems to do about 13%?

All I know is dthrow does 7% instead of 9%. It can still be used to combo out of though.

I heard in the update thread that d-throw has been nerfed from 9% to 7%. Don't have time to confirm, though.

Since people really hate facing Ness, I was so scared we were gonna get a huge nerf. Glad to see that we only got one nerf. (thus far)

Now, I heard PKT deals significantly less knockback whether PKT1 or PKT2. Can someone confirm for me? I have to do homework...

Doesn't seem like it to me. I played ~50 Ness matches on FG since the patch and haven't noticed any PKT changes.

Good. I just heard one person say it. I'll test it out when I get time, but I doubt anything's changed about PKT, really.

Gotta buy a Wii U first... too much time working and being lame at home to go and get things. :(

Once I have the freedom of C-Stick, I'll be able to use Ness again.

I got knocked out of the GS tourney in the semis by a (good) Rosalina... I feel ashamed. I let Ness down. And to Rosalina of all characters... it still hurts.

The game is beautiful in HD. Some things I've picked up on that I couldn't do on the 3DS because the controls suck (or maybe I just can't use them, either way, they're a lot easier on the WiiU):

You can cancel a dash with USmash. Since Usmash's hitbox is quick, this is nice
Dash+turn around PK Fire should be a nice spacing tool, and a good way to mix up your play.
