What happens when I'm at a friend's house (I don't own a 3DS; it's a borrowed one) and doing my first For Glory match... (Excuse the talk at the end and the low sound)
I literally only spent like 20 mins beforehand with Ness, lol.

Also, it seems like Ness' D-Throw glitches on G&W; for some reason, G&W will only get hit by the final hit that does 4%. Unless you play For Fun and they're different sizes (as in, Ness gets big and G&W is normal, or vice-versa).

I was playing Ness today and omg my favorite moment in my Smash 3DS history happened.

I was playing against a on for glory and it was a decent match but the finish was absolutely priceless. She was up at the 100% range and was being very defensive about her final stock. But then something I didnt know could happen happened. She sent out her phantom to take a hit for her and I knocked the phantom back at her with the baseball bat killing her. Ohhhhh it was so good.

Wish I could have saved the replay though. I couldn't figure out how to in time.

Darn, was hoping for a flawless victory, but it was good nevertheless.

I'm pretty happy with how I've been doing with Ness. Roughly 300 games with him and and I've only lost about 30 of them. The other 270 have all been victories, I'm proud and hope I can keep up this record!

A proper MU thread would be nice, totally. It's just I kinda think we should do it how the Brawl warios did it and go from the top of the tier list to the bottom and invite the people from those boards to discuss it with us.

However it's still so early on in the meta, we don't know exactly who will be where until a tier list is actually created and peeps may not have much to say on the MU until the meta develops a little more.

It's hard. :/

Maybe we should just do it more casually perhaps? Not sure...

My issue is that I always like to give you guys choices. I wanted to make one but I wanted to see what you were all thinking. I could make a generic one for now (The Ness Matchup Thread) and then in the first post it could be an outline with a tier list (which we'll have to get over time) and then in the next post a directory. So basically, people are free to discuss matchups in it, and then when the time comes, we can easily just state where the discussion starts in terms of post count by linking it.

As for right now, people are going to just be talking about all sorts of MUs and it's tough to know until we've had the Wii U version for awhile.

We're so chilled. A decade and a half of being low mid tier really taught us to just go with the flow and let what happens, happen.

Something to mention is, i'll be going to a tournament on the 23rd, so i'll letcha know how I go and hopefully I do well enough to uhm.... do stuff.

Oh by the by, seeing as people tend not to see edits and because I prefer not double posting and also because here's as good a place as any to mention it....

We all know jab locks have been considerably nerfed. The flop on the opponent only works a grand total of 3 times before they're put in standing position, however i've got a bit of a suspicion from testing on CPUs that if Ness gets someone into slam/passed out position, punches them once or twice and then immediately uses Fsmash, it should hit. Can anyone confirm whether this is somewhat viable or possible to integrate into generaly gameplay?

I don't think it will be that useful if it's a true combo anyway though because with the nerf to Dair we don't have much of a way to put people into slam position at the same time as being close to us *sad*

I disagree. People have questions on it already so a general discussion is a good idea.

Intense Matchup discussion won't happen for a long time but I've been seeing a lot of "how do you deal with X character" or PMs of "can you help me with X character". A general discussion is fine.

I wanna start off with discussion on RosaLuma, because that's an annoying matchup. Either that or Shiek.

Here's my brief summary of RosaLuma:
She is a campy and space-heavy character with tons of effective disjointed moves and safe GTFO options to extend her superior spacing play.
What we can do versus her general playstyle? Nothing; she's too good.
