Mmm...moving on before either of them get here...

Can anyone think of any use for Sonic's Nair? I throw it out now and then for surprise but...it just doesn't seem that useful...
I agree with this sentiment.

SM5 brought up this old wifi video where I did a bunch of stuff and 0-67%'d a DK.

Towards the end of the video, I noticed something interesting that I didn't really pay attention to before.

SDR> N-air >U-air

The N-air's length is perfect so that if you do the falling U-air, it lands during its IASA and lets you move almost laglessly from the U-air's landing, almost as soon as the second hitbox finishes.

how do low float, not ground, but someone's head height?
hold [jump], then hit [down] while holding jump when you get to the right height, I think.

Don't test my knowledge of all things Sonic that isn't Brawl. If you learned it, I've known it for five times as long as the time you DIDN'T know it.

But yeah, 360 version's final levels are friggin' awesome, but that doesn't take away from the Wii versions epicness.

Besides the layout of the Final Boss in the Wii version. It was horrendous.

I use it here or there.

My favorite thing to do with it though, is stand right near the edge while the opponent hangs there, and short hop nair as they get up.

When someone's on the edge, it's either:

1. Get Up
2. Get up attack
3. Jump around the edge
4. Drop below/behind the edge
5. Jump and attack
6. Roll

What's so awesome, is that nair covers at the very least, 3 of these options if spaced correctly. (1-3)

Better though, is if the opponents attack comes out late, or is of less priority or range (lol) of nair. That would get rid of option 5 as well.

Finally, if you're REALLY good at reading them, you can pull away during your nair to hit them as they roll back onto the level.

So assuming you're doing it right, you get rid of at max, 5/6 options from the ledge.

The kicker is that a weakened nair is usually enough to knock them back to the edge. Rinse and repeat.

I've actually nibbled away at some Kirby player down here by just being able to call out his actions, and knocking him back to the edge with nairs.

It's also a great set up for further reading into your opponent. They tend to do some sort of aggressive attack after the 2nd nair to ledge.

Walk away -> fSmash.

lolz

Too pro.

i use n air for a falling attack that has a lasting hitbox.

i also use it infrequently for gimps. but i think its best use is for a low lag airial to fall on somebody with.

The 360 was worse though. I mean the first part was tediously boring and the rest were quick time events.
The first part when you have to fly to Dark Gaia as Light Gaia does look boring as hell, I almost forgot about that. I'm too lazy to recall, but I don't think the 360 version has the rock 'em sock 'em robots gameplay either that the Wii version has.

The Sonic portions are similar...

Then the Super Sonic portions are completely different.

What I meant to say was that I preferred the layout of Super Sonic in the 360 version than the layout of Super Sonic in the Wii.

If the Wii's camera wasn't so ****ed zoomed in I'd be fine.

Oh, and not to mention that the Wii's varient of Super Sonic's level was very similar to Alf-Layla-Wa-Layla in Secret Rings, where he slashes, you see, then dodge.

It's nice, but **** frustrating when you get hit several times in a row.

I'm not at that part yet...sounds annoying though :/

Does anyone else recommend I use the GC Controller rather than Wiimote + Nunchuck? Sometimes I wave the remote around like a mad man and I still don't activate 'go faster cause of blue bar' thing
I never use nunchuk + wiimote if the game includes being able to use the Gamecube controller.

Gamecube controller is almost always the best option for maximum control.

Oh, and btw SM, the PS3 version = 360 version.

Maybe Sega will endorse our idea and make him go the Speed of Steak.
Sadly, it seems that Sega was trying to use Chip's stupid "want some chocolate?" junk as a new meme of sorts :(

If Chip had been handing out Steaks, the game would have been a lot better. Chip would still suck tho. ....admittedly, I'm still like in .... I don't remember, but I'm not very far.

Brawl: which comes out faster; Sonic's Nair or Fair? If it's his Nair, then I'm thinking an SDJ should always be followed by Nair at high percents, when it's not obvious that an aerial follow-up will connect.

[1] Isn't the joke obvious though? Chip? Chocolate? Chocolate Chip?
Dr. Pickle and his Cucumber fetish? Pickled Cucumbers?
Cheese and Cream - Cream Cheese?

Though I was really kinda annoyed at Chip, because in the Fall/Winter, I will usually walk around with chocolate in my jacket pocket (cold chocolate =D) and offer it to friends in class (or eat it myself to stay awake lol). And I'd literally say "want some chocolate?"

Now I'll feel like I'm being a biter fanboy if I say that phrase.

My brother can pull off the Chip "want some chocolate?" voice almost perfectly though.

[2] I think F-air comes out faster. Even if N-air came out first, F-air would be safer because if they shield the N-air, you're still committed for a much longer time than you are if they shield F-air.

Though it doesn't really matter since they can punish SDR>F-air out of shield pretty easily if they jump as soon as you start to get off their shield.

I actually like Chip...I feel like the only one who does now...

Chip goes hand in hand with Lucario mainers though.
Dr. Pickle pisses me off though...when I first heard Tails say this gem of a line in the very beginning of Unleashed, I wanted to turn it off and return the game:

"We have to go see Professor Pickle in Spagonia."

I was like 0_o;, then "lol wut?!"

You has a point about the Fair. Nair can has KO sometimes ftw, when my Fair gets stale :)

Sometimes N-air can be a better SDR/SDJ followup than F-air, especially if your opponent can SDI out of F-air. 10-11 damage (lol it's not usually staled) beats 4-7 damage lol.

come to think of it, the werehog kinda does look like Lucario.

wasnt kinzer the catalyst for all of this haunter stupidity with the mods anyway?
serious question.

if i recall, f air comes our 1 frame before n air.

I would already be destroying ppl with sonic if I could play more that once a week, and sometimes i dont even get that...

Fair comes out on frame 4.
Uair comes out on frame 4.
Nair comes out on frames 5.

I like doing nairs offstage, and out of SDJ's when the opponents are at low percents.

Ahh, my laptop died recently and I had saved in a Word file the Sonic boards tier list. It's gone now. Chis needs to make another one, and have Tenki and KASR steak tier once more.

i mean just recently when it was realised that haunter has a bad connotation to people outside the sonic boards, I thought kinzer was the reason that started and was brought up.

if anything it was funny watching you guys argue with the real shadow chaos when he put like 10 of them on his posts just to eff with you guys.

What's wrong with Haunter anyway...

I always post 'Brawl is here! :) Dawn of a New Day' at the end of my posts. Surely that's annoying sometime isn't it? Yes it's technically my sig but why do people have such a problem of someone posting something at the end of every post?

It's like a sig but requires you to remember to put it in all the time

Lul, I blocked that guy a while ago...

Cause, really. I DO use the haunter's for something, I believe I explained it before.

Basically, if I have no time to read every post (I usually do) I can scroll through fast and watch for haunters, when I see one, I stop to read the post knowing it's coming from someone who either posts interesting/funny stuff (Like CiTH or Roymahboi) Or for people like Tenki and KID who post useful, knowledge based things. That's why I find it to be a shame Tenki only posts haunters as a joke (Mindgames?)

i was just thinking that like 10 seconds before i read that post

@boxob
and seeing that i dont do it to begin with, and kinzer only does it when hes NOT being serious....
thats kind of a fail plan

also, you do these internet shenanigans quite a bit and they always seem to backfire on you. remember that time you made a crapload of spam threads on purpose in order to get mods here?

remember what happened then? ill give you a hint, one of the consequences was that you now have a period on the end of your name.

Maybe you should stop doing that and just act normal like the rest of us, (im using normal very loosely here)

:093: to make sure you read this.

I'm not a normal kind of guy, normal is boring.

My plans do often fail. But not entirely, I still see a majority of what I want to read, especially when I'm mobile (scrolling takes a while and lags, so I can see ahead and I know when to stop so I can read it)

But yeah, having my actual account banned is pretty gay, and it makes me look like a scrub having an 08 join date. Especially since it looks like I got brawl for Christmas now rofl.

I gtg though, peace *****s.

He means you look stupid. A stupid cycle, if I understand correctly.

I have a Haunter in my pokemanz team, AND a Gengar, his older yet less attractive cousin.

I'm too pro.
