I wonder if there would be a significant difference for the Mario movie if it kept its original release date of December 21, 2022.

I recently got a $100 GameStop gift card but I'm still figuring out what to get with it.

There is one game I'd like to try but no local store has a copy of it.

Just saw Dungeons & Dragons Honor Among Thieves

That was really good, I feel like it had no right being as good as it was. It really felt like a game of DnD with how it was written and it was just so much fun.

Before the movie came out, it was announced that Bowser will have a musical side and some people (including one member here but I won't tag for spoiler purposes) wanted the Nintendo licensed song, "Ignorance is Bliss" by Jellyfish be in the movie.

After seeing the movie, it's clear that the lyrics don't work with the movie.

Not gonna say that character was a bad reveal, but I will say trying to hype him up when the entire species was already shown like halfway through the movie was definitely an odd decision. Removed the mystery and the question of "Where's Yoshi?" imo.

Granted post credits for 1st movies usually play it safe. Tails in Sonic 1 was expected, but they did a better job on keeping him hidden.

wasn’t the 1st movie’s post credit scene not planned until after Sonic had his redesign? It’d be impressive if people managed to know he’d show up early…and without a hyper realistic design

I think it was always planned, but he didn't have a model yet since it was like a 2 minute scene.

Why didn't Peach also rally the Yoshis as part of her army? Clearly as seen in the games, Yoshis have human intelligence.

I dunno. But considering how much trouble they went through to get the Kongs on board, I can't imagine it'd be any easier getting a species that are known for being content with what they have :yoshi:

I saw the Mario movie after work, and it was a lot of fun - towards the end, it felt downright surreal that I was watching a big-budget Mario movie. I loved all of the musical nods to Mario games (and Donkey Kong), especially the ending credits medley. (and ESPECIALLY Gusty Garden Galaxy - it was only a brief snippet in the credits, but I had this weird moment of joy when that music reached a crescendo)


Chris Pratt was better than I expected in the Mario role (I feel like the trailers picked the worst lines of dialogue for him, or put them into completely different scenes than where they originally were), and Charlie Day (though he was a bit underused), Anya Taylor-Joy, and especially Jack Black all did a great job. (to my complete lack of surprise, Bowser got a musical number, which was great)

Also, all of the Nintendo references (mostly NES, though Star Fox, F-Zero, and Pikmin got moments) were nice little easter eggs that had me keeping an eye out throughout the movie. (the Punch-Out themed Italian restaurant was a treasure trove of these)

I'm not sure if my view would be as positive if I wasn't a huge Nintendo fan, but I enjoyed myself.

Also, I beat Ratchet and Clank 2: Going Commando this evening; I almost picked up Sonic Frontiers as well, but I wasn't sure how the game is, particularly on Switch. (plus, I've tried to stop buying video games for a while, since I've got a pretty big backlog)

That or the ears and noses could be a result of a genetic issue? Boom problem solved.

I just wonder how they will have become rivals to Mario and Luigi and what their backstory behind all that will be.

Prediction: They're from a universe that is like the WarioWare games. They have unique outfits (Wario has his biker uniform) and due to the wreck from the first movie, they end up in the Mushroom Kingdom and try to copy what the Mario Bros. do :yoshi:

Very nice. If that were the case, would they hate Mario and Luigi on first sight when they first meet them?
