Then again the price is nowhere near as absurd because they actually added **** to the service beyond crummy N64 games.

I went into the Direct with zero expectations since there wasn't anything I wanted at the moment. But it blew my mind. This is objectively a 9/10 direct, maybe even a 10/10
FE looks cool
Fatal Frame getting a new game is hype.
For a second I thought the Xenoblade 3 hero, Ino, was going to be KOS-MOS due to the similar pose. I was preparing myself for a Xenosaga announcement.
Peach Gardens coming back is great.
Pikmin 4 is real??? This has to be a joke right?
Rain Code looks fantastic. The Danganronpa vibes caught my attention.
Radiant Silvergun looks sick. I'm a sucker for these vertical shooters.
Tales of Symphonia is coming back and I'm happy. That also means Lloyd is more likely for the next Smash.
Return to Dreamland is hype. I never got to play the original so I'm excited for it.

That's all the stuff I really cared about but this Direct had multiple bombshell announcements. I'm impressed.

Overall, the direct was solid. Nothing too crazy (expect maybe Pikimin 4, holy #### that game actually comes out).

I'm looking forward for more Xenoblade 3-content and YES the OG Goldeneye actually get's a re-release. I love the remake on the Wii but
I really wanted to play this game for the longest time (especially as it was never released in my country).

Tales of Symphonia get's a port, which is nice. My gamecube discs won't work forever, but...no Dawn of the New World? They already had it running on PS3. Might as well give it us on switch (This game is special to me, ok...).

And most importantly still no news about Wind Waker, Twillight Princess and Metroid Prime remasters/ ports. It's never gonna end.

Finally caught up on the Direct. My thoughts on stuff that got my attention:

• Quite a lot of life simulators shown off...
• Sweet! The Mario Party 64 trilogy! Can't wait to obliterate my palms in the first game!
• WHAT. THE. ****? POKÉMON STADIUM 1 & 2??? Thought that would NEVER happen due to its heavy use of the Game Boy games (does that mean...?)
• Goldeneye 007 wasn't too much of a surprise since it was reported a while back that Nintendo requested Germany to unban that game but still amazing news nonetheless
• Showing off only 2 of the MK8D tracks was odd. Guess they want to surprise us
• Bringing up the Mario movie in that Direct was absolutely ****ing pointless
• Pikmin 4 is neat!
• Bayonnaise 3 was good to see
• Return to Dreamland remake? Cool but I feel like holding onto my Wii version some more.
• BotW2 finally got it's title and release date, eh? Good to hear.

There’s a disclaimer that pops up for Stadium 1 and 2 saying Pokémon will not be transferable to this game.

That kinda implies Gameboy Games are coming but Pokémon still won’t be usable in the game.

Yeah, couldn't see that disclaimer since I was watching on my tiny phone screen and hiding from my job responsibilities made focusing hard.

But glad we're getting them with or without Game Boy (and it looks like the Japan-only Pokémon Stadium "zero" isn't coming to Switch)

KIRBY'S RETURN TO DREAMLAND REMAKE. WE FEAST.

Honestly I would rate the direct a 6/10. This is the third direct in recent years to open on Fire Emblem and Close on Zelda. Which isn’t inherently bad, but I wouldn’t have minding something else. Especially when BOTW gave us literally 10 seconds of gameplay. But the title and release date was nice. I’m expecting a full on Zelda direct to sell us on it at some point in the future.

The NSO stuff is neat, but I still own physical copies of stadiums 1 and 2, as well as the 2nd and 3rd Mario party. Plus super stars is basically the best from all 3 of those. Goldeneye was cool though.

After that, it felt like the direct fell off, most of these trailers didn’t really do anything to sell the audience on why they should buy them.

That said, Octopath 2, Tales Of, and Harvestella Zelda piqued my interest. But none of the trailers felt like they stand out imo. Although Tales of was definitely the most in depth.

Pikmin 4 scores the direct some more points, but after that, the rest of it is a blur to me, with nothing standing out, outside of Kirby which only works because I beat and loved the original.

I actually discovered this movie the other day. I've been digging for more kaiju films recently and this seems pretty cool. The only thing is that it seems like it's not available to watch anywhere yet which I guess makes sense as its a foreign film.

Pretty sure it's releasing on April 8th 2023, and Sonic Movie 2 released on April 7th 2022, and Sonic Movie 2 was at TGA. So my guess is the trailer will be then.

It is one of the best games of all time, it is one of the greatest narrative works of fiction I have ever enjoyed and it is truly a work of art.

For extra selling, here's my personal Steam review of the game:

I could write an essay on what makes this game a masterpiece. No, I could write a book about it, but I won't, because this is a game that should be experienced as blind as possible. This game is funny, cute, endearing, emotional, clever, and truly at the end of the day, one of the most unforgettable experiences I've ever had with a video game. This game is a piece of art that deserves to be hailed as one of the greats.

Do yourself a favor and pick this one up blind. It's only $10.00 for one of the best, most heartfelt games you'll ever play. You only have one shot, after all.
