Googly eyes are objectively the best character design choice, especially when they wobble around. ALL media would be significantly improved if every character had googly eyes, including live action stuff.

Dude apparently personally stepped in and forced the Mario Galaxy 2 devs to axe all the lore and story, and he was proud of it.
