In fairness...

Miyamoto isn't behind PM's major problems.

And Miyamoto is a great game designer, but yeah, he doesn't (IMO) have the greatest takes on story and art direction.

...Also, techincally, PM doesn't need the OCs to sell. As much as I want them back, Origami King popped off and is the bestselling game in the series ATM.

From what I can tell, the Dev Team jad issies, Miyamoto suggested them to simplify it, and the dev team decided to make Sticker Star off his suggestion.

But people act like Miyamoto actively sabatoged all of development and kidnapped every dev of the first 3 and sold his soul to Toad Satan. No, Intellegent Systems just ****ed up and from what I can tell they were happy with SS and didn't even realize people hated it until they were well into Color Splash.

Not necessarily paper Mario, but he definitely has say on the Mario branding. Sometimes he doesn’t always make the best choices.

The legal team is 100 percent the worst though.

Also while, origami king is easily one of the best Games on Switch, peoples biggest complaints and reasons for not buying were no partners and no traditional battle style.

I think if they had that, the game would do numbers considering not other Mario rpg series was left standing to complete with it.

The fact that they were told simplify with SS and said “let’s remove partners and the battle system”

Is something I find hard to believe being entirely IS’s fault when they usually know what’s going on. But who knows what factors could be at play.

Not a PC player but it's nice to hear that people are already doing things to improve it.

Hopefully the console versions will receive meaningful updates as well. Until they do, I'm most likely going to hold off on buying it.

Gotta say, I wasn't expecting this movie to do anywhere near this well (granted, I wasn't paying much attention to it). I would be shocked if it wasn't in the top 2 highest grossing movies of the year, and I could maybe even see it squeaking ahead of Black Panther 2 to take the #1 slot (Avatar 2 will probably beat both in total, but it's releasing in late December so a decent chunk of it's theatrical run will be in 2023 and therefore doesn't count in this scenario). I wonder if it's success was as much a surprise to Hollywood as it was me, and how it'll impact the industry.

I gotta be honest, I too did not expect Top Gun Maverick to do that well. Like idk I didn't think a movie like Top Gun would be as well recieved in 2022 given the completly different political climate compared to the 80s, nor was Top Gun, let alone Tom Cruise, really relevant in the 21st century.

I gotta wonder... who is the target audience for this movie that they struck gold with? 80s kids? The military? Gen Z? Boomers?
